if I were in Dragon Age, I would not have joined the Grey Wardens, I would've led a guerrilla war against the Darkspawn, only protecting the area I would want to live in... dude, the Grey Wardens will find someone else! lol
I'd prefer to be a "Sidekick" when it comes to the whole story... yeah I might run in to the Grey Warden, and I might help him for a while, but I want to be able to just WALK AWAY! when I don't feel like going somewhere... lol...!

I have not seen this happen (went to check just now), this could be because I don't use 2handed weaponry on female characters =P for I hate two-handed weapons, they're so slowwww... LOL I don't use them xD all my Warriors are either dual wielding or weapon + shield, I've used the respec mod to respec both Ogden & Sten to use 1 handed weapons (Sten is a dualwielder & Ogden a Sword+shield)
Ogden kicks some major butt with Sword+Shield.... and Sten is a pain in the butt to kill with his Massive armor and pimped up weapons... (my mage loves both of them in a way that would require a romance mod to express out here... lol!)

that was the first thing that popped into my mind... especially since my current character is a Warrior/Templar himself... I don't NEED Alistair =P

Right after I tall the brother that the king wants to see him, I'm sent to the deeproads and miss the encounter with Teli and Mardy. Anyone else having this problem?
That quest should have been completed in the Diamond Quarter. You have to take up Mardy's offer right there to get the "of Nobel birth" quest.
you do not get "Of Noble Birth" until you re-visit the Diamond Quarter after you've become a Grey Warden... =-)
I did take up her offer and she said she'd see me back at my room later that night. Is that it? I was expecting a cut scene showing our meeting in the bedroom.as far as I know there is no Cutscene... I didn't have one... Gorim did mention something (I think when we're in the Deep Roads) asking about the night I spent with the girls, and that he wished I invited him, or shared with him..

I wouldn't want to get any mods that make the game too easy, so to speak. Like a merch in my party. Perhaps a courier that can be summoned at any location who will take your items back to camp and place them in a storage chest (at a fee, regarding on how much items he must take back.)
have you ever played Torchlight, because I know you could send you Cat/Dog to the nearest merchant in that game =) if you use a storage chest you can basically store everything you want... if you use the "run to merchant, sell & return to me" idea, you will actually have to think twice on which you want to sell/keep =)
but I like the idea of having a (permanent) summon that can run off and sell your stuff to a merchant! =)

That's a great idea, but sounds like a very time consuming if not possible task. The dog collar is probably a more realistic goal, for now at least. DA modding is still in it's infancy. Once modders get more comfortable with the toolset, I'm sure armor for Mabari could be possible. ;)
it will not only be possible, I'm actually pretty sure it'll be made as soon as someone figures it out.... the problem is one will probably have to model the armor, make it fit to the bones of the war hound, and make it move in the same way as the dog does... (keep in mind the attack animations + clipping possibilities when moving)
but I second this request =P

sweet thanks, I'll give it a try when I get back to my DA PC, lol

okay, let me try and elaborate
I've modified the Orzammar Hall of Heroes, tried "the "custom Campaigns" menu and can't load it... so what you're saying is that when I load one of my save games it should work?

thanks for the details, and I know what you're talking about, I've been trying to modify 1 single (small) area in Orzammar, and I can't seem to test it... all I've done is add a statue with a description... o_O

So... I've been reading both these forums and the Social.Bioware modding forums for a while now, and I've begun to wonder, the only sections where there's active posting are the "uploaded files" and "uploaded images" sections... most mod requests go unheard, most other topics remain rather silent too... for newbies like myself it's rather hard to get a grip on things if the ideas we spew out are ignored/ go uncommented... I need feedback to keep myself interested... and I'm not / hardly getting any... this is a real bummer for me, as I was hoping to be able to work with others while learning the tools and getting scripting under control... it seems like the community here is like the Silent Sisters... :( and I don't like them... lol
if this topic goes unheard, I know enough, and I will probably either move on to somewhere else, or to another game (Mass Effect & Mass Effect 2 are waiting to be played)

your question is very vague... might want to elaborate on it so people can actually figure out wtf you're asking =D

One or all of your search keywords were below 3 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please go back and increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords.
I tried searching for the quickest way to test a mod (by searching for "test a mod") and this is what I got as a return... so here's my question... what is the quickest way to test a mod...
I've started work on my Black Powder Mod... and started modifying the area where the quest/story will start... namely the Orzammar Hall of Heroes... so I've modified it, but now I want to test if it works =P... how should I go about that?
I've followed this link/tutorial but it says "stand alone mod" which mine isn't... it's an Addin... =P
should I make it a "stand alone mod" to speed up my testing? or should I move a character to Orzammar and just load the area from that game...?
-
I've decided to go for "Paragon Oldan" for the time being... this might be changed... but for now it's "Oldan"
I'm still really interested in seeing some realistic Dwarven names...
cheers...

you're welcome =)

I have learnt that mages are evil...
why you may ask?
- Darkspawn, Tevinter Mages are the source of them
- the Harrowing (need I say more)
- Blood Magic (yeah, let's use our own life to kill you...?)
- the Fade, Demons and Abominations
- Morrigan (need I say more?)
- Jowan
- those freaky Templars... damn I hate them... lol
-
how do you mean? merchants are marked as a "house" on your radar... (minimap) talk to them, and say something along the lines of "let me see your wares" or "I'd like to trade" or "show me what you've got in your stock"
a screen will open with 2 sections, the one on the left is the merchant's inventory, the one on the right is yours... you can now either drag and drop the items you want to buy / sell from one to the other window (sell is your window to the merchant's window, buy is from merchant to you, check the stats etc. before buying stuff for you might not be able to use the item)
you can compare items by selecting the character you want to compare the items too from the dropdown menu at the bottom of the merchant's window...
I hope this helps =)

or try the Templar's Cleanse Area (with the 2 characters standing close to him/her/it)
it's description says
The Templar purges the area of magic, removing all dispellable effects from those nearby. Friendly fire possible.that should do the trick =)

I've learned that even though Humans are the ruling class in Ferelden, there are only two types of them... the Nobles, and the Mages...
-
I've learned that whenever you need someone, they aren't there, and when you don't need them, they're "mandatory" *cough Alistair*
-
currently the Paragon is called [NAMEHERE] lol...
haha I thought about names like those... but "Fantasy" isn't the Dragon Age way... Ironheart, CrushHammer etc. those aren't the types I'm looking for... =)
I currenty have zip knowledge of the Toolkit, did the first 'how to create a room' tutorials, but found out I had midterms coming up (lol) so I was kind a screwed...
here's a hint of what I'm aiming for...
we all know the dwarves have invented explosives, because they used demolitions to seal off Orzammar from the Deeproads and the incoming Darkspawn horde... what we do not know, is who has invented the explosives, and where his Thaig is located (I expect that said person would be an ancestor or paragon at the very least...) and who knows what secrets might be hidden in their lost Thaig... -
triple?

Hey guys,
I've got plans for a serious mod, (not yet posted here, not the "mod request" I have posted)
but I'm kind of stuck on naming characters... so, here I go...
I'm looking for dwarven character names, but any race/name combo is welcome because I have yet to decide on whether I want to keep this "deep roads only or if I want to add a surface area to the story...
I would appreciate it if you were able to supply me with some background information, so I can see where he or she could fit in best ;)
be creative, but try to make the name sound/look like it could really belong in the lore / story...
the most important name I'm looking for is a Paragon's name who is has become a paragon through improvements in the field of Black Powder (gunpowder)
thanks in advance,
//WhiteAden
*edit* whoops this should be in the Modding General talk section =(

very true, I've got a Male Human Rogue, a Male Dwarf Warrior, and a female Elf Mage... and I like it that way...

What is going to happen to current mods...

very true, I do not know how the party selection screens have been modified for I have not felt the need to have new party members yet... =P
I did not know Awakenings will implement a respec method... if so it'll probably make the respec mods obsolete... for Awakenings will have it implemented... (unless of course they are going to somehow charge you for respecs... and thus a modification will be requested/made for the cheap / poor ones amongst us players...
unless there will be changes in the the characters bones structure, due to new animations, different armor types, maybe giving Mages some more visible options... (I think the "robe overwrites all" method kind of stinks... and I would not mind if they add more different types of armor, (for example: Head, Shoulders, Chest, Hands, Legs, Feet) instead of the rather limited Head, Body, Hands & Feet
