I'm looking for a mod that completely resets your character. Take you back to level 1 and bring up a menu to remake your character from scratch, and reset all your skills and perks, yet you keep all the in-game story progress and everything in your inventory. So, pretty much, you get to level the character up all over again and reshape them. Is there a mod for this already? Let me know. I haven't been able to find one, so if someone wants to work on making this... I would really appreciate it.

Yep, in that case its definitely the Megaton mod, I am using it. I'll see about fixing it.

Finding Armor in G.E.C.K. for Tailor Maid

That's the thing; I DID open the mod in the GECK. I'll try using the filter. -
can't find FWE control panel
CronoStorm replied to q8devil's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
What does the FWE menu do, precisely? -
For some really strange reason, my .32 Pistol shows up as .32-Pistole. I attempted to change the name in the GECK, but it wouldn't let me save it. What should I do to fix it? FURTHER INFORMATION: I believe this problem came about from the 20th Century Weapons mod. I deactivated the mod (I do not wish to uninstall it) and all changes it made were reverted back to vanilla Fallout 3... except this one. Quite annoying.

My apologies, I should have specified. I have my main file, and I also have a file that I made SPECIFICALLY to see if Zeta was buggy with mods. My main file screws itself at this point, but the newer character can access the quest no problem, mods or no mods.

Yeah, so I have this same problem. The only deal is, its not my mods. It simply works on one file, and doesn't work on another. Which figures, because this was supposed to be my perfect file. Do I really have to delete it? I can't use the console, either. I'm playing on Windows 7 and it does something to the tilde key. I seriously need some help.

What the hell? The title pretty much explains it. How do I fix it? Reloading and even rebooting won't fix it. EDIT: Sorry, fixed the problem. Lock?

Oblivion has stopped working...
CronoStorm replied to Rlm Claw's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Go into My Documents/Games/Oblivion. There should be an ini file here, go ahead and back it up, then delete it and run the game. Game should run smoothly now. -
I'm pretty sure you can talk to him and click wait here back at the priory. If that fails, kill him. If you don't want to kill him, wait for him to die while you are out trekking around. He pretty much serves as an extra meat-shield. Someone else can give you a command line to send him back, I'm sure; I cannot, my Vista refuses to let my tilde key work in game.

I'm going to start out by informing you that this post has two(2) parts to it. The first is a question about a popular mod; feel free to ignore it if you don't like mods, me, or helping people understand mods. The second part is help with a small non-problematic problem in Vanilla Oblivion. First off, you know Kyoma's MiniMap mod? Yeah. Uh, it won't show up. That's pretty much it. I've set all the settings in the .ini file correctly for my system (to the best of my knowledge) and it won't show up; the default key to make it show up is (*) and it doesn't do so. I even changed it to (J) and still nothing. As for my non-problematic problem, after I quit Oblivion (yes, even Vanilla) a message pops up saying it has stopped working and I have to either A) Use Command Prompt to close it or B) Hit alt+tab to be able to use my cursor and select 'CLOSE'. This is a problem because it is annoying, but at the same time non-problematic because it doesn't wreck anything or screw my save file. I am kinda worried that it might sometime though, so I'd like to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated. :thanks: I use Vista, for the curious.

Oblivion Confusing Me Completely
CronoStorm replied to CronoStorm's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Ugh, I feel like an idiot. I wasted my whole day, all I had to do was delete the ini file in my documents. there was obviously something wrong with it. It's fixed now, thank you very much for all your help. Please let others know they can try this to fix it. Cheers! -
Oblivion Confusing Me Completely
CronoStorm replied to CronoStorm's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
No go. Nothing worked. I did get my registry clean, so thanks for that, but a clean install of Oblivion with no mods or patches did nothing. I even tried installing it to just plain old Program Files\Games folder instead of Program Files (x86). Still does the same old bull. What is going on? Please, someone help me. I know it works on this machine, it was the other day. This is so frustrating, I could cry. -
Oblivion Confusing Me Completely

I appreciate all your help. I am using Vista, if that helps any. I'm defragging ATM, and I'll follow the suggestions for Vista users to see if it fixes. I swear I'll never uninstall it again lol By the way, the defragger said I didn't need to defrag, but I did anyway. Hope I'm not wasting my time. EDIT: @roquefort -- I just used ccleaner. Very nice, I had over 360 problems with my registry. -
Oblivion Confusing Me Completely
CronoStorm replied to CronoStorm's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
I will give it a shot. I am pretty tech savvy, but I know jack about the registry and do not want to try to mess with it. I'll repost after I try what this thread suggests. By the way... if it helps you all, I don't have any saves or mods I want to back up, so no worries there. I'll do anything to get this to work... I just hope I don't have to system restore. That's always a hassle. -
Okay... here goes. I'm having an issue with my copy of Oblivion. I am quite hesitant to post my problems on here, but after trolling through this forum and Google to try and find an answer I came up with nothing (yes, including the post three topics or so below this one, which appears to be almost the same problem) and figured I'd try my luck here. A few days ago I purchased Oblivion and both expansions, Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine (although the last one is more DLC than anything). I installed it on my PC, which is extremely good, and was running the game fine on the 'High' graphics setting, with absolutely no slowdown. Then, I decided I would install a few mods which looked pretty good. I downloaded a bunch of them, and installed them. Some worked, some didn't; I wasn't used to the load order, but I soon figured that out. I ended up deciding mods were amazing and I needed more, but I wanted to be extremely organized, so I uninstalled and decided to start from scratch. Now I have my problem; after reinstalling the game, Oblivion now pops up with a message stating that it has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have NO idea what is going on. I tried installing the same way I did before, which was: 1) Install game. 2) Install Patch 1.1 or something like that 3) Install Shivering Isles 4) Install Patch 1.2.4 This worked perfectly the first time. However... when I try patching it with patch #1, it says that the file it is trying to patch is different and doesn't work. For the curious, I was instructed by another person to install the patches one at a time. TL/DR: Uninstalled Oblivion. It was working fine before I uninstalled. Re-installed, now when I get to the start-up screen I click 'Play' and it says 'Oblivion has encountered a problem.' According to the patch (the older one) the file has changed, and I theory that this may be the cause. Any help? I know I was rambling, but this is so frustrating. If any more information is needed, let me know. And again: My specs aren't needed. I'm running a 2009 model Qosmio built for handling games like this like nothing; it was working fine before, it'll work again. Thank you for understanding, and I'll try to be as helpful as possible. EDIT: By the way... when I uninstalled I deleted the game folder. Maybe that wasn't too intelligent...
