  1. Take a look at the Price. It can go up to over 4000€ dependin on the version.

Blender 2.49b can handle Nif files with a plug-in and it's free. At the beginnin It takes a little time to learn how to use it, but then it is verry powerfull.

The plug-in for the version 2.5 and above are still under construction because of problems with python 3.

  2. Remember:

Two cards mean double power consumption, double heat production and double fan-sound, but not double speed.

For HD-Gaming one card mostly is enough, only if you have a 30" monitor you will perhaps need 2 cards, or a double card.

I think, you should buy one high end card with a good cooling system, that not sound like an industrial cleaner.

  3. Mostly in some of them. It depends on how bloody they are, and what sort of Game it is.

The Witcher: Bloody as hell, but no Problem (USK 18, The Witcher 2 USK 16, perhaps because it is a fantasy rpg)

Shooter: Allways a little bit problematic here

    Shooting Ennemies: no Problem

Shooting helples people only for fun: No Go. (In COD MW Ger. Version shooting on hostages means Game Over)

Shooting Humans to pieces: No Go.

Shooting Aliens or Mutants to Pieces: (Dead Space 1+2) USK 18

So to say what goes an what not is not easy because there is no checklist, every game has to be handled seperatly.

In the links in my last post all is explaind, but all in german. If someone knows were to find the stuff in english please tell me.

  4. Sorry that i only have german links

Well the law here in Germany is a little bit complicated. We have a law against glorification of violence here( §131 StGB ) and that causes sometimes problems with some games.

Here is an interesting link over the discussion about "Killergames" in Germany. It is a few years old, but shows, what is going on in Germany.

:woot: Btw. you had to know, that all videogames are made from the Military-Industrial-Complex to militarize the youth ( Dont ask! ) :wallbash:

And here a link where you can read how the rating and baning in Germany realy works .

    PS:

Oblivion has a USK 12 Rating here. If you are old enough to buy Oblivion you had to wait one year before you can sign up for Nexus!

  5. When you download a file, you will be redirected to another side, and Firefox normaly blocks that.

Firefox will say at the top of the window something like: "Firefox had these website blocked from automaticly be redirected to another website" and there should be a button on the upper right edge of the window wich says "Allow".

Press the button and the download will start.

PS: I use the german version so the text is my translation

    I hope this helps.

  6. Homeworld + Cataclysm will run with Kompatibilitymode for Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5) on Win7 (32-Bit)

For non-standard resolutions you have to edit the registry

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Sierra On-Line/Homeworld OR Cataclysm

Right click on screenHeight ---> Modify and MAKE SURE you set the 'Base' to Decimal then enter the desired screen height e.g. 1080

Right click on screenWidth ---> Modify and MAKE SURE you set the 'Base' to Decimal then enter the desired screen height e.g. 1920

Set desired colour depth e.g. 16 or 32 bit (you can't change this in game)

If you have a flickering menu screen type in /triple for Homeworld or -triple for Cataclysm in the respective games shortcut.
