1. I think I ran it as root. The command I used was "sudo open snoop -n XCOM" which seemed to do the trick. I tried it with the complete XCOM pathway (dragging and dropping the XCOM app into terminal which produced the pathway) but that said "token too large, exceeds YYLMAX". For the more successful one I was prompted for my password. Ah well, it has been fun. Thanks again and take care :) ps. Sorry, my computer only prints aged single malts. Such a pity ;)
2. Here you go, Thither. http://pastebin.com/JuPHfi2d I guess it's not looking too hopeful. That is a shame. Thanks for all your help nonetheless, it is most appreciated. Is there some way I can "like" you to indicate to others how helpful you've been? I'd feel bad taking up all this time of yours and not at least giving something back.
3. You (and only you) can easily fix it. Just edit that post and put that output inside "spoiler" tags. As shown here (which is inside "code" tags so the actual code isn't interpreted):
text
-Dubious- Thanks for the advice, dubiousintent. And sorry again for making a mess! Thither, I opened the game to the XCOM main game menu. Should I run it again and start a game do you think or would that be a waste of time?
4. My word that was a lot of output! I'm so sorry for clogging up the board!
5. Hi, Sorry for my late reply, I've been without internet for the past few days. I've re-installed EU and EW and run opensnoop with it. Here it is. Hope it helps. Thanks again
6. Thank you for your quick response! I didn't realise the install was for Steam only, my bad. The version of EU and EW that I have are both from gamersgate.co.uk and are downloaded directly from there. The directories are "/Applications/XCOM Enemy Unknown - Elite Edition/Contents/Resources/Data/XEW" (which has the following files 'Binaries/Engine/XComGame) and ".../Library/Application Support/Feral Interactive/XCOM Enemy Unknown - Elite Edition/XEW" (which has the following files 'FeralTemp/Logs/MacInit/Profiling/SaveData/Volumes' and 'shader_log.txt' file)". The phone home situation maybe a little muddled as I'm not sure that the installer is looking in the right place. When I try and install it says it is blocked but when I try and unblock it it says that it is already unblocked and that I'm ready to go. Is this a result of it not actually seeing what isn't there as it is looking in the wrong place? (Does that make any sense at all?) I don't know if this is relevant at all to the phone home thing but in the front end panel you get before the game's loading screens start proper (the window with the "Activation/About/DLC/Video/Extras/Support/Advanced" tabs across the top) I have unchecked the "Automatically check for updates". Is this the same as blocking the phone home function or have I got the wrong end of the stick? Thanks again for your help :)
7. Hello. Firstly, thank you for all the hard work and advice people are doing to make this work, it is much appreciated. I'm having a real problem installing this mod. Please bear with me as I'm a bit rubbish at this stuff. I've tried following the instructions provided with the github download and have come across the following issues. Firstly, the --install command responds with "I couldn't figure out where your XCom install directory is. Please use the --game option"I'm not entirely certain which file i should point it at. (Very daft of me, I know!) Secondly, when I do point it at the file(s) I think it should be it responds with "I couldn't find the Feral Interactive directory in App Support. Before you install Long War, you need to make sure phoning home is unblocked, launch the game, and exit to the desktop from the main menu. Note that phoning home is currently *blocked*. Block it by running as root with the --phone-home-unblock option, launch the game, exit, and then run the installer as root again with the --phone-home-block option to disable phoning home. Once that is done you can install Long War and run the game as usual.". I'm fairly certain it can phone home but in any case I've run XCom and closed it down again and then tried again but get the same response. So I have some questions. Does it matter that my game is not on Steam? Does it also matter that my copy of XCom is the Elite Edition? I have the DLC XCom:Enemy Within too. Sorry for asking so many confused and probably silly question!
