Honestly I have no clue what is going on now...The first night I had this running fine, I had a few graphic mods installed and even did a short stream on my old favorite game with some friends. Tonight I tried to add a few of my old favorites, ones that required SKSE and it began this issue. When launching the game, nothing happens. Steam shows the game as "running" for a few seconds but nothing happens, no music, no going to the black title screen, nothing. Just goes back to the "play" button. So I thought this was an issue with SKSE. I removed the files, had steam validate and re-download, and re-added the mods I had last night. Same problem, wont run now. I went to try loading them one at a time to see if I could fish out an issue and even 1, any 1 mod, would cause this issue to re-occur. Only thing of note, is this new Vortex mod manager thing, at one point was giving me an error about not being able to find the executable for Skyrim SE but this doesn't make sense as the issue as this happens with or without vortex loaded. Even directly launching the game from my game folder, and as admin..just does the same thing.

Where are the "pre-made saves"?? I'd like a save that already has the Thieve's guild quest part way done. At least so i have the extra vendors in the Ragged Flaggon, without having to do all the little jobs in each city. Is there a way to start a game and "select" what quests should be already completed?? go to mods > categories > saved games

loading any save at all, even back at the start crashes the game. New character and all.

Whelp....if someone finds a fix....yippee, otherwise when I get home from taking the family camping I'll delete everything and start from scratch. Probably use one of those pre-made saves that skip some of the basic quests.. R.I.P Fatis, greatest Wood Elf Archer in history.

I use the NMM, Loot (load order thing, someone suggested years ago) and Wrye Bash, aside from that I have not messed with much once I got it all running smoothly. I had gone months without any major crashing or issues.

Ok went back and re-did all above, with a completely new folder (saved old one in backup) Completely deleted the entire skyrim folder so it would recreate a new one, now Logs show up as a folder, but nothing is going into the folder -_- Took a few tries to make one, but here ya go...I hope <script src="http://pastebin.com/embed_js.php?i=CPnzq2BC"></script>

Uhhh...I guess this is what you need? I don't know what logs your talking about...would love to know (would have love to known years ago) if there was a print out that showed WTF was causing the problem, I'd fix it myself then. It was faction crossbows or something like that. It is not likely to be any other mod since almost all of my mods before that one had been working fine with minimal issues for months, some of them I've used for years. Load order didn't change at all, ran it with bash and all seemed fine, both before and after, nothing but green. Yet soon as I started it up with this mod it went to crash city. I also have no other mods that I know of that would directly effect crossbows.

Anyone have anything usefull? I posted there last time and just got redirected to the mod section...so $!!# that

I am all the way up to 64 on my longest continual run through, had been forced to restart a few times in the past due to issues with mods. This time I had finally settled on one set of mods that I used and had them all straightened out. No problems all the way through almost all of the game (did all main stories except for companions) etc, accumulated mountains of gold etc. Today out of curiousity tried a new mod that added some new crossbows to the game and it caused constant crashing. So, deleted the mod, reverted to a save prior to adding this new mod, and I still crash every time I leave the (any) area. Weather I leave a house I'm in, or fast travel, or just walk/run somewhere it crashes to desktop. Really don't want to start over entirely again...open to suggestions on how to fix this.

I'm trying to do a quest to get the pickaxe, but it seems to be entirely missing. Even using console commands I can not get the quest. setstage dlc2rr03intro 15 does nothing, it goes through as if it accepted the command, but no quest comes up no message on the screen, nothing. I tried skipping to the next step and talking to the guy that took it myself and there's no dialog about it. Even stranger is I can't find this issue in any of the "known bugs" on Skyrim pages

Does anyone know of a fix for a bug in the quest "Taking care of business" in which when you attempt to brawl to get the gold from the 3 'deadbeats' they will randomly turn actually hostile, draw daggers, as well as everyone else in the location. No bounty is given for killing them, but the point is not to kill them -_- I even made a new character, went directly to Riften to try again and it was still happening. I have not installed any new mods since my last playthrough of the thieves guild quests. Nevermind, fixed it myself. SetStage TG01 50 into commands and poof :D

Meh...screw it....everything I do and still crashes constantly, game just isn't able to run I guess...spending my entire day off on google and here trying to find fixes for a companies game doesn't exactly make me want to play it. Sucks..I did enjoy Skyrim...but since It's impossible to play through I guess the only fix is to uninstall for good. Maybe someday Bethesda will come out with a game that actually works?

I have tried with many mods, I have tried with just the patches, I have tried with just the DLC, and now even with just the plain game. Yes, completely uninstalled, deleted everything related to Skyrim. This has gone on with 2 different computers now, both my old Alienware M14x and this new....well it's a Frankenstein computer. Edit: Oh ya, and playing without using auto saves or quick saves as I read those often become corrupted somehow.

I had been playing very mod heavy in the past but was having many issues crashing etc, so I decided to take out all the extras and am playing the minimal. No mods, no prior saved files, fresh start on a full, new install. Despite that I'm still getting CTD :( is there no way to fix this? Really infuriating to pay for a game and it not run properly, guess I should be thankful it runs at all tho.

Seems to happen after completing the battle for whiterun, If I go back before completing this quest the game runs fine.. well as well as it ever will. I have tried twice and the problem begins immediately after the quest. I can save before even during the quest, but once it's finished the game dies :( this is pretty much the only quest in the game I have never done... so thought I'd get it done finally... .

On top of all the usual Skyrim bugs now anytime I save I crash.... no matter where I go or what I do, any save causes a crash. I have tried going to a location with no NPCs (as suggested by a friend) and waiting 10 days.. supposedly "cleans" scripts... it didn't work. Any other suggestions or should I just trash Skyrim once and for all as this is getting ridicules...no game should ever be this buggy, outside of beta testing.

sigh.... guess I'll just find a new game.... last time I buy a game from Bethseda

I have been playing after thinking I was done with the constant crashing, thanks to help I received from someone here.... hoping to fix this damn game again but getting absolutely infuriated at how horrible this game is. I have a handful of mods that fix the majority of known bugs, and minor game changes etc.... The game was constantly crashing for me, even when I completely deleted everything, all files folders, saves and so on... started a new game from scratch with no mods and it kept happening. Someone told me to use Loot, that fixed it for about a week, then it happened again. So another person said to use Wyre-Bash and Tes5edit... and I did. This fixed it for about 2 weeks (only really have time to play once a week mind you) Now the game is crashing constantly again... completely unplayable... nothing is coming up as out of the ordinary on any of the programs. No errors on TES, no red boxes on Bash... have run loot to make sure it was all in the proper order... but the game will crash as soon as I load up and start moving... As I said this is getting extremely annoying. I have one day off a week, and tired of spending it trying to get this game to work, I wish I didn't like the other aspects of this game so I could just say screw it and be done with it....sadly I am a completionist and I won't really be happy till this damn game is complete, or at least as much as I can find.

like I said I hardly have time to play... as in I'm on my 'lunch break', ran home (thankfully I work a block from home) trying to get this set up, go back in 20 minutes to work another 10 hours before I can sleep for a few then go back... and so on. I was hoping someone would recognize this issue and already have solved it :(

Ok.. you have got to be kidding... now Skyrim is crashing after the logo....I just was playing fine a moment ago, nothing has been added or taken away.... *ok... random mod just stopped working... have had it for months with no problem, didn't update or anything....-_-
