I think I'm better off not trying to mod at all
Infamous95 replied to Issacreaper2's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Modding isnt for everyone. It took me 3 months to get the hang of it as a beginner with zero experience. Theres all sorts of stuff Ive learned over the years and still a bunch of stuff I dont know and likely will never have the time to learn them because life is busy. I started with xedit because its easy and more organized to my brain than the creation kit. I recommend just messing around seeing how the game records are set up maybe look at other mods and see how they set things up. My first mod was an update of another mod and it wasnt perfect but as you learn you can go back and fix those things. -
1000 hours is alot for a game. Id say save bloat probably killed it.

When they brought donation points to the site I decided I was going to save up for the lifetime membership and was actually just a few days away from getting enough DP to buy it when they decided to cancel that option. I think it took me almost 1 1/2 or maybe even 2 years to save that much and I ended up reaching out and asking whether they could keep it for mod authors in the shop which they allowed. Im still very grateful for that.

Its still playable. If the update broke your mods try updating F4SE. Also make sure your mods dont conflict because some of those errors sound like conflicts to me.

Help with removing specific items from a mod using FO4Edit
Infamous95 replied to jacobpaige's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
In fo4edit find the outfits you dont want. Check to see if their attached to any other records and delete those. Just becareful of removing some records like leveled lists just remove the entry in the leveled list dont delete the whole thing etc. Also before you delete the armor check the file path for the meshes then I believe the mesh has the file path for material files and material files have the path for textures. Just make sure not to delete something thats in use elsewhere. -
Scrap Everything suddenly not recognized in-game?
Infamous95 replied to JacobKirwin's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
You can try removing the esp from your game folder then put it back in. You can also see is its active on the mods menu in the main menu of the game. Sometimes the esps can get switched off for some reason -
Bug: Bullets go through targets
Infamous95 replied to LyricSeal722490's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Probably a mod causing it. Maybe something thats edited human meshes or collision edits? -
You're better off asking on Bethesda.net or reddit. This is a PC site.

Sounds like you will either need to install those mods back or start a new game. Its never a good idea to uninstall mods mid-playthrough.

Mod Creators - Just a Thought to share

Organize mods at Chem Lab
Infamous95 replied to ValRussito's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
Dont edit the fallout4.esm directly thats a no no. That sounds like a loadorder error. Place the new mod you made higher up in your loadorder using your mod manager then try to add your new keyword to other mods -
Organize mods at Chem Lab
Infamous95 replied to ValRussito's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
If I remember correctly their sorted by keywords. If you want to sort them you would make a keyword then attach that keyword to the recipe for the item. Keyword needs to be set up properly so easiest way is to go find a chem recipe find the category keyword it uses then copy that one and change the name to whatever you want. -
Is All of the Fuss about AWKCR and AE Really True?
Infamous95 replied to edgeburner's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Yeah bashed patching just automatically makes it not conflict its not really processing what should go where. I prefer to do it manually that way you decide what features are overwritten or what you want in your game. -
Is All of the Fuss about AWKCR and AE Really True?
Infamous95 replied to edgeburner's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
If it works for you thats good. If you have fewer mods its probably not noticable. If you are heavy into modding thats when it becomes more of an issue. AWKCR contains a bunch of content that your game doesn't use. More than likely you use about 10% of the mods records so you have a bunch of stuff taking up space in your game you dont need. This is where the save bloat comes in to play. I personally like to play 100+ Hrs so Im picky as to what is in my game. CTD's mostly occur with mod conflicts since awkcr touches so many records if a mod references something that awkcr overwrites you crash. Most people dont have time or knowledge to fix these issues so they rely on mods just working with minimal patching. To each their own I geuss -
I could be wrong but that sounds like Homemaker

Infamous95 replied to edgeburner's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
It causes save bloat, CTD's, and conflicts with a ton of mods. I've also created a ton of awkcr free mods you can check out. I used to use it to but its really not good to have biggest concern is the save bloat. If you like to play your saves long AWKCR is your enemy. -

AWKCR is bad for your game. I would use ECO if you liked AWKCR's content. But no one should be using AWKCR. I personally dont use either. -
Please consider a mod page limitation on authors
Infamous95 replied to StormWolf01's topic in Site Support
Being an english speaking site I feel like translations should just be moved to a translations category I find some people dont tag their mods properly and some put random translation mods in wrong categories. Not to mention most translation mods require the original file anyways so users can find the translation that way if needed. I think that would be a better way to deal with this. -
No mod is really ever necessary. Personal preference comes into play here. Not only does the UFO4P have record changes it also has script edits and papyrus stuff (I think). It does fix alot of good stuff but theres always room for human error so you never know what could be messed up as a result of these fixes. I personally use it myself and add other fixes/tweaks to another esp. Im not sure what the location references do. I don't ever remember seeing them on NV and F3 unofficial patchs. There are alot of minor fixes in these patches that you would never notice in game. These location references could be one of those.
