help with mod selection and load order
Cynthetic replied to peace123au's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
what exactly is the problem? -
i think some mods overlaying the ammo list. the merged patch feature from fnvedit will merge that in a esp file, so the ammo list will full available for the weapon again. however here is a training manual thats explains much better what i mean... my english is not so good ;) http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38413

did u have an merged patch ? u can make one with FNVEdit, simple start fnvedit wait if is has finished loading and rightclick in the left list and choose "create merged patch" maybe the new esp may fix that.

Unusual crash bug (too many mods?)
Cynthetic replied to ChaosEagle22's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
don't merge ESM file, this are the source file that u need every times, only merge patches and fixes *.esp file with this method i write before. in example the EVE FNV.esp cant be merged easy, this is the mod main/source file. if u want this merged try the "Copy as new record into.." don't change the editor ID than choose your created file or make a new one. with this method u can "real" merged some single mods into a file. if u want the compatibly patches in there than try the patch after the mod that is for. but is better u merged the patches alone in the first time and test it, go ever step bye step and test it before u make a final "rolloutsonofabi...merged things" ;) is a little bit more experienced than the simple merge i write before if o don't know what u do...don't do it. and when is coming out a new version from the mods u should every times merged that again. this may cause errors is the new mod version different or heavy edited, because u have the old entries not deleted. so is better u merged only few things together, in example the many wme files like wme - gra and wme - dlc and so on, so its better if a new version come out. attention, i didn't use that feature before, but in theory, that will be work. -
Unusual crash bug (too many mods?)
Cynthetic replied to ChaosEagle22's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
you dont need geck just mark all or one entrie/s right click and choose "copy as override into..." than in the new window thats pop up "new file" name it and copy the other patch bye the same way in the createt file. done in just 2 minutes if u know what u do -

no is not the same i mentioned an manual workout, as an example there comes compatibly patches with EVE for WME and AWOP, merged both patches in a single file will reduce loadorders, just copy all entries in a new esp from both EVE related patches. switch the single patches off an the merged esp on. the "merged patch" feature will only add/merging "missing" entries from overlaying mods to an single one esp and make this available ingame like repair list or lootlist and u need all files.. -
Hopelessly Crash-ridden
Cynthetic replied to Barellron's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
ok then it must be a problem with an mod. have u installed all the mods without testing one bye one? or did u remember what mods u installed before is keeps crashing? WMX-PreOrderPackClassic.esp WMX-PreOrderPackCaravan.esp WMX-PreOrderPackMercenary.esp WMX-PreOrderPackTribal.esp u dont need those esp, becaus u dont have the preorder packs. some mods may incompatible with other mods, not sure. i didnt use most of the mods you have installed you can sort the loadorder with boss http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35999 -
Hopelessly Crash-ridden
Cynthetic replied to Barellron's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
hi not sure about ur loadorder but i have the same loading bugs fixed. turn off the virusscanner for fnv and add this in the ini files Open up the fallout.ini file in: Documents\My Games\Fallout New Vegas: Find the line: bUseThreadedAI=0 Change it to: bUseThreadedAI=1 Add another line after it and insert: iNumHWThreads=2 This will prevent the game from using more than two cores. Multi-cores cause crashes in the Gamebyro Engine. If the game still crashes change to: iNumHWThreads=1 (i editet all 3 ini from fallout) from http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_NV_Troubleshooting_guide -
no roxio or sonic related entrys in the add/remove program manager? no dvd player programs or like this? btw with the tweak tool u can reset the decoder settings..maybe that will fix and here is the newest klite codec pack from the autor´s website http://www.codecguide.com/ i think u need the full or mega version.. but a warning ..the k-lite codec can bugget new vegas to. i prefer u to use mostly defaults checked in the installation ..no ffdshow and so on

Unusual crash bug (too many mods?)
Cynthetic replied to ChaosEagle22's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
hello there, u can manuall merge some fixes and compatiblitiy patches with FNVEdit to reduces loadorder. -
you have a non compatibly decoder installed on your system. you can uninstall this from control panel, add and remove programs or programs and features. maybe this decoder pack itself have no deinstall routine but the main program who has install that codec have a deinstall routine. you may need restart the PC http://www.ehow.com/how_6796982_uninstall-cineplayer-dvd-decoder.html if that not work than try the k-lite codec tweak tool to fix. http://www.free-codecs.com/Codec_Tweak_Tool_download.htm press fixes and search for broken codecs and filters / fix broken sounds

CTDs, CTDs everywhere
Cynthetic replied to TheP0PE's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
oh sry u mean the gpu mem...my fault. there is another tip to reduce CTD. u need to edit the ini. edit all 3 ini´s serch this line "bUseThreadedAI=0" change it to "bUseThreadedAI=1" and add the line "iNumHWThreads=2" after "bUseThreadedAI=1". this have helping me a lot to reduce random CTD on loadscreens (means fastravel/enter building) bUseThreadedAI=1 - enabled multicore usage. iNumHWThreads=2 - number of mutlicore usage. 2 core always more as enough fnv don´t need more core´s this tweaks is just to reduce CTD. is it still crashing change it to 1 i have an old intel core2 quad and FNV have trouble with some multicore setups. u can also edit the ramusage and gpu mem usage in the inis, but this is very experience and need basicaly knowledge. -
CTDs, CTDs everywhere
Cynthetic replied to TheP0PE's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
with the memory problems.. u can use FNV4GB to increase the usage of ram on 64bit systems. if u using FNVSE u will need this version with FNV4GB compatibly ->http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip (from http://nvse.silverlock.org/) but i think.. the game is broken... u don´t have CTD on another locations, so maybe one or more of the mods may bugged or messing up with another mods. my tip ; disable all non really needed mods and test it one by one to locate the problem. or cleanup the installation and then activat one by one after testing in freeside. beginn with the "project freeside" ;) -
Mods messing with each other.
Cynthetic replied to upunkpunk's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
u can made with FNVedit an override/merge patch and then u can choose in the override patch what u want from your two mods. simple load fnvedit with the messing mods, search the armor in the list and right click - copy as override into - new file - name it and drag and drop in the right window what u want from the armor to the override patch (is the last one). never edit the original mod files and load your "overridepatch" after both mods where included, take sure you enabled the patch. -
Red exclamation mark lol
