This would be an awesome mod. I don't really mind floating hands, it's just Bethesda's style. But nonetheless ever since I've played Far Cry 2 a couple of years ago the first person body has seemed very immersive :) Keep up the good job!

LE Morrowind Style No Fast Travel & Mark/Recall spells
marksman_sniper replied to marksman_sniper's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
That's a lot of great feedback! Well, I guess all we can do is sit tight and wait for the CK. Anyways, I stick to the magicka used per second idea. Naturally, mages will have an edge over warriors because they have more magicka. This is logical. In Morrowind, one of those factions had castles through which the entrance would only be by levitating and entering from above. The reason that those guys gave was so as not to let "barbarians" aka to them, Nords and warrior types easy entrance. There could also be a dragon shout which levitates like PirateDragon mentioned. -
This would be great. It would be ideal if developers actually created it though. I wouldn't mind buying the DLC at all!

LE Morrowind Style No Fast Travel & Mark/Recall spells
marksman_sniper replied to marksman_sniper's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Yep, that's what I was totally thinking of :) I also agree that the spell should be extremely magicka consuming. It was kind of game breaking in Morrowind because you could recast it and continue floating around. A staff should also have this function, just at a greater acceleration. Imagine levitating with a staff in one hand and shooting fireballs with the other! :D I think that'd be a lore friendly jet trooper xD -
Yes, please! I want some more realism :D

Hey fellow travelers, The travel system in Morrowind was fairly balanced. You could take silt riders (in Skyrim's case, horse carriages) and there would be the handy dandy Mark and Recall spells. That's my main suggestion that I'd love to see implemented. I've no idea whether this should be something easy or hard to create or whether modders will have to wait for the CK. Seeing that there is a Midas magic mod already, I think it could be implemented(?). It would also be awesome if there was a Levitation spell like in Morrowind, however it would drain mana depending on how long the person levitates for. I think that it'd fit in the Alteration spell section. Would be nice to see what others think of this is well. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been longing for Morrowind style. Mark The Mage P.S. Forgive me if there was a similar thread to this topic already!

To be honest I love the older design more. It felt more simplistic and more in my element, I guess, due to it being similar in design to Steam. But eh, I'll get over it and so will the rest of us :)

Sounds interesting although this design has become something I've rather clung onto now. Ah, good modding memories..

Nexus Hiring: PHP web developer and news writer positions
marksman_sniper replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
Any information when you'll be bolstering up your ranks again with new recruits? I'd love to write articles for the Nexus. -
Couldn't have said it better myself, I totally agree with you too. The community is what keeps a game thriving.

Need good advice for a first time player
marksman_sniper replied to guguma's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34888 This mod has a lot of spells! I've tried them and the damage output seems to be pretty high if you have a decent mastery of destruction. There are also leveling up mods which totally reform the vanilla Bethesda style. I didn't try any of those out because in my opinion I found the vanilla leveling up something out of the ordinary but yes, I do agree, it is time consuming. -
Agreed. Any game with a good story will be good of course. Sadly, story alone doesn't mean realism. I want to be consumed by Skyrim with all its' technological advances. Something in which I can run away from the real life but STILL be in a very realistic "life". All I'm saying is an epic story makes an epic game but in the end a realistic game combined with that epic story will have a much better impact on the consumer.

If they don't add any on release they'll probably include it in a similar Horse Armor DLC xD

why did you link to the older model that costs more? Sorry I meant this model: http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g73jwrog-p-2938.html The ROG model has a Nvidia GPU model (Yes, I'm a Nvidia fanboy) and it also has the Bluray function although I doubt I'll use it at all. I'll also most likely get it customized by ordering from XoticPC. The main reason for getting the G73 model though is because it can keep the system cool. Laptops, if not cooled properly, get their GPUs and other hardware inside melted. I'm also considering whether to get SSDs from Xotic because laptop hard drives tend to spin out within a year for me :/ -
I'm sure I read something within the "Technology behind Skyrim" article which says that they've created a new engine specifically for trees and another engine to determine how the weather shall react. Do you think it's possible that Skyrim will have an environment changing engine other than snowfall, browny snow sludge and similar things? If they created a special engine for the tree's physics and for the weather could it be possible that after a harsh storm (if they implement it) there would be tree carcasses and visible remains? Would be an excellent feature if they've thought about it, would make the world seem way less static as well. I've always admired the woods and forests in Oblivion but some trees just live forever apparently and do not rot or decompose.

Will Skyrim End After the Main Quiest
marksman_sniper replied to Elsarian's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I doubt it would end similar to prior games and if, well there's always the modding community to ask for a favor  -
That's what I was thinking too but I guess as long as they release expansions/DLCs I'll be happy.
-
According to trailer it will most likely be +18. Fancy moves, assassination animations, very realistic blood effects...what else more could us fans ask for? Hopefully a large game world.

I guess I'm kinda in the same position but thank god I've got relatives who haven't gotten me Christmas and Birthday presents for several years now xD They owe me favors  So this is what I was planning to get for Skyrim's release, I've checked and it SHOULD be able to run it somewhat. Asus G73-A1 http://www.amazon.com/Republic-Gamers-G73JH-A1-17-Inch-Gaming/dp/B0039825JE Any objections or other recommendations? I'd actually get a decent PC for that price but I'm a mobile gamer and I travel a bit so yeah... -
I wonder if this interest could be renewed again since the Elder Scrolls Freebies reminder news post?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums but am a regular user of the Nexus. So this is my suggestion guys, for Oblivion there's this mod that basically empties your memory every 8 seconds. This helped me a lot in Oblivion as I tweaked the .ini so I could use more Ram and CPU resources(I never experienced frame rate gradually dropping with this mod). I did the same in New Vegas (tweaked the .ini) and the performance is a lot greater but it takes only about 30 minutes for the game to get stuck and filled with memory and then it usually crashes. If this mod could be converted, I'm sure a lot of people would be grateful. Attached file info: This is the original mod archive in 7zip format. It contains an .esp file, not sure if this information helps because I have no idea what-so-ever of how to make conversions of mods from Oblivion and Fallout 3. I think the creator of this mod was German because the zip file is named "Bessere Speichernutzung" which pretty much is the equivalent of better cpu/ram/memory usage in English. The original read me is included in the zip file and luckily it's in English (as well as German). I also retraced the link of this mod in case anybody would prefer to download it from there instead. The download description is in German though. Mod Download Link
