  1. turn off HT, I have the same issue on both my i7 4790k and my i7 6800k. For some reason the game physics HATE hyper threading it killed my fps, if that doesn't work then try install Realistic Water Two or something like it. It also helped me.
  2. I've always been a big fan of both mass effect and the fallout games and I've always thought fallout combat is far far better than mass effect. But the 3rd person camera in fallout 4 is the worst thing I've ever seen. I decided to try and improve on that, everything from here on is based on a customized version of the ini edits from this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1326/? http://i.imgur.com/Wx0ukaB.jpg This is what I have so far, still have to work on the height and I want to rid my self of the blur but I think it looks a lot better. [/line] http://i.imgur.com/VNB9Q57.jpg This is the sprinting in third person with the gun out, very mass effect like to me. pretty happy how this looks. [/line] http://i.imgur.com/j1P7Xos.jpg Didn't change much for the holstered 3rd person from the mods ini edits, But I feel it needs to be higher to match mass effect on areas like the citadel. So thats pretty much it for now. If any one wants I can post my ini edits but I doubt most of you would like them.
  3. if thats the case I do have a pair of r9 290's in my sisters rig.
  4. So recently I've been on a crusade to get all my 245ish esp mods + my 200-odd texture mods running while keeping above 40 fps which is what I consider playable... but there's a twist, I play at 21:9 3440x1440p. meaning that I was already pushing my system with all my mods at 1080p but throwing the game to 3440p really pushed it to the limit Now then onto my orginal system I had when I started this almost 5 month in the making modded skyrim. I had a pretty beefy system, I thought it would have been MORE than enough for skyrim at 3440p. the specs are as follows: Now lets talk about this: At times while playing skyrim I was easily capping my 16gb ram with chrome, causing huge fps drops every now and again. When in heavily scripted scenes the i7 4790k was really pushing it to its limits, making the game unplayable at times. The motherboard's PCIe slots were too close together, so my sli 980's were OVERHEATING, causing massive issue which I did not experience in any other game. And the WD Blue is honestly the worst drive I've ever played skyrim on, loading times were 10s minutes, not seconds but minutes, and in some area's (leaving dragons reach) they got up to 17minutes. so what did I do? I sacrificed, I droped a lot of my texture mods down to their performance versions, I got rid of quite a few of my normally "needed" script heavy mods, and I dropped out a decent ENB. my computer just couldn't do it, after all that I was still dropping frames. I ended up not playing for a few weeks, and really all that time I was itching to play me some more modded skyrim, I legitimately got cold sweats from it XD. in the end I my motherboard shorted, so it FINALLY gave me a reason to upgrade (which I needed for other things not just skyrim) I said I'm going to go balls to the wall on this, and over a month and a half I saved up 2 grand. (which isn't as hard as a lot of kids say it is, being only 15 I don't need to pay for rent or a mortgage and any income doesn't normally get taxed) I went with the X99 Chipset on this: a I7 6800k OC'd to 4.2ghz 64gb of CL14 2400mhz DDR4 Ram used my classic gtx 980's in sli (which did not overheat this time btw) And I threw a 512gb ssd in there JUST for skyrim. Now lets talk about this one! Honestly after 2 weeks of getting the game setup with all my mods (no performance versions I wanted a real test of my new system), I was shocked, the performance increase was insane. I could play at high 40s mid 50s most of the time, the script lag was basically completely gone, and the crashes, oh my the crashes. It is so rock stable, I was crashing every 17-25 minutes on the old setup, I've crashed twice in the 11 hours I've just played. I am honestly extremely impressed/shocked at the performance increase for just upgrading the platform and not the gpu's. anyway, thank you for reading this. it has been a amazing journey doing all this hardware upgrading and stuff, and I'm kinda sad its ending but happy to be running skyrim again (just finished a DLC). 5. Wow... thank you, not what I intended to get out of this topic but you went quite in depth while still remaining very easy to follow.
  6. I would wait till winter and get 1080 ti or find cheap deal for 980 ti's after 1080 gets released this month. There will be lots of people trying to sell 2-3 month old cards after non reference versions will show up on the market. You probably could get 2 cards for 800$. Waiting till winter would be easier on your pocket, unless you can sell your old cards right now for a good price. with the release of the new 10XX cards I'll be waiting till mid next year, and just upgrading to x99 in the mean time.
  7. Ayy! a reply, not much is up and I'm glad you agree!
  8. While I don't agree in the slightest with what you're saying, I will admit you said something... and that makes alot of sense, I two have 2 monitors, now if they had a really long curved monitor that could replace my 2 monitors then I would upgrade. but for now I'd rather keep to my 2 monitor setup.
  9. Ummm HP sauce, yeah I've never liked the curved monitors.
  10. pastebin, as in the site. it has nothing to do with nexus.
  11. if you can upload the script its ref to, to pastebin I would look though the code and find what is causing the error. it seems there maybe an extra } on those lines.
  12. Oh, that makes total sense then! Upgraded to 2x8gb sticks, ddr3, cas L 9, 2400MHZ clock, really rare chips to get so I got an extra stick to. While not getting any increase of FPS, it's just ROCK solid now, no more stuttering, no fps drops when going into whiterun, and strangely the loading times have improved greatly.
  13. My rig is perfect on other games, 60 fps crysis 2 @4k :D already tried skyrim without any mods still caused alot of lag. also I spent about 3 weeks before making this post sorting out all my mods, cleaning them with TES5edit, making merge patches, and making sure all 220 (give or take) were up to date. and one more thing... are you a time traveler! or do you know one? because it seems you've had the game 5 years longer than its been out.
  14. Running windows update, updating Mobo, GPU, and sound card drivers, then re-installing the game fixed my issue. will update after I reinstall my enb, already installed all my old mods.
  15. tried 768 and 1024, and it seems to have little to no effect. also I checked the fps limiter beforehand. interestingly enough I get anywhere from 70-200 fps in the wilderness, away from NPC's.
  16. Lowering the settings doesn't seem to help, also tried disabling all my mods to no help.
  17. Update. Lowering screen rez to 720p doesn't affect performance still drops down to 20fps in towns
  18. While I do have fallout 4 I doubt this would help for skyrim, and for skyrim I've tried pre-rendered frames from 1 to 3, it makes no difference.
  19. Kotor 1, 2, Jak 3, GTA 3, and SW:BF2.
  20. Hello! I have a rather high end pc and I've been getting large amounts of lag. the lag normally happens when I am in towns, dungeons, cities, or near NPC's. When I am lagging I normally get around 20fps, but a lot of the time it is around 14-16 when it really drops. PC Specs: I7 4790kWindows 108gb DDR3 CAS Latency 9 @ 2400MhzGigabyte Gaming GT z97x2x GTX 980's in SLI1TB WD Blue 7200RPM HDD - Game storage256gb crucial mx100 SSD - Boot drive Load Order: enblocal.ini: SkyrimPrefs.ini: Skyrim.ini: MSI Afterburner Images in whiterun Proof of system specs (Speccy)
  21. No i mean by a cheap PC and throw my old gpu in there for the DX9 rendering but using windows 7, i don't have a half decent windows 7 pc in the house, and the only one that runs windows 7 can't fit a full sized GPU
  22. well.. hmm, probs gonna buy a new pc and throw my gtx 750 in it
  23. Yes I have edited the SkyrimEditor to allow me access with both of those
  24. tried running the CK as an admin still nothing, and CK does'nt even launch on my other PC. and nope no mod manager
