  1. Erm... you walk to a guard with your sword in your hands, hit him on purpose (or not) and expect him not to attack you back?!
  2. Hi guys! Can you please help me with a mysterious issue I am having; because of unknown reason to me I cannot apply any walk speed mod to my Enhanced Character Edit ygNord's race character. Why is that? I tried manually tweaking character speed but it only causes me to run and sprint faster, walking is the same. I tried several walk speed mods and all they do is that they make the NPC's and followers walk faster, not me. I use Mod organizer for modding. Please help! :pirate: Roleplaying idea behind why is it so crucial to me: After almost two years of not playing Skyrim I decided to play it again. To make things even more challenging on master difficulty I heavily tweaked the game with SkyTweak mod making it truly a nightmare for a teen in the world of Skyrim. With Skills config mod I put almost every skill tree on 1 and left the common ones like sneaking on 5. Health regen is turned off. Fall damage is realistic so that a fall over 3 meters will seriously hurt me. I wear light armor so I tweaked the battle that I die from 2-3 strikes from single handed weapons, 1 strike from two handed weapon, arrow or two kills me, blocking with shield however blocks 100% damage... Health potions are forbidden - I heal with bandages over time, so if something messes me up we stop the adventure and retreat to camp where I need to eat and sleep for almost a week to recover... etc. The reason why I do this is that even with AI difficulty combat mods the game is too easy for me. Whatever build I choose, usually as level 10 I can kill almost everything and it sucks. With the above setting it is obvious that I need a mentor or I wont survive. Valfar follower was the choice for that. The roleplaying idea is that I learn from him, my mentor, and follow him around the world with the help of the mod Follower goes on a trip. The problem is that the bastards walks, and when I walk I can't keep up, and when I run I must wait for him... and it's killing me. So thank you in advance guys! Here she is, a heavily tweaked custom created 16 yo Nord without any skills to survive in Skyrim. Look how afraid she is! Look!  http://silencewanderers.com/wp-content/uploads/help1.jpg

  4. Aye, let your guard down, keep your sword sheathed and let none foul magic slips your tongue; for you are safe in this haven and no ill faith shall cross your path here! You have my word and no other words shall you hear, cos I am the last of the silence wanderers and no more do I speak. Surprised by the words from the old cloaked man, you find yourself standing without anything to say. There is something unsettling about this place, yet you find peace from the words that stranger spoke. All of the sudden, you hear but a whisper in your mind "Hello traveler, and welcome..." ... and you take another step in, and close those old rusty doors behind you. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll97/Mshai85/pyrography-2.gif Feel free to visit My portfolio or My dA gallery http://ivansivak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/rad002.jpg http://ivansivak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/rad003.jpg http://ivansivak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/rad004.jpg
  5. What to hell - now my game is having random CTDs... After the fix ATI releases never again will I allow those amateurs to automatically update my graphic card drivers! :verymad:
  6. Ok, thanks. I will wait for the next driver update, and if that will take 2 long, I will switch back to previous version.
  7. Excuse me if there is a topic about this issue, but can someone please help. I have ATI HD5700 graphics, and since yesterdays update this is what I get in game: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll97/Mshai85/2012-03-18_00003.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll97/Mshai85/2012-03-18_00001.jpg
  8. This is looking... simply amazing! Keep up the good work mate! Can't wait to go there when its done! Cheers! :)
  9. Nop, it's not mod related. When I had vanilla Skyrim, when I bought Breeze home I got the very same result. The only difference was that the space between those weird shadow lines was more apart. But, they were still there. This game will indeed require so much fixing after the CK comes out. Altough, this is not CK kind of a problem, it is the game engine issue, and the only ones that could fix it would be Betty. Since we are among 5% of the users that have these kind's of problems - somehow I really doubt that they will try hard as they could and should. I guess that the only thing that we can hope for is that some random graphics expert act upon the issue and finds a tweak that will smooth the things out.
  10. photo will speak better then me: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll97/Mshai85/breeze-home-glitch.jpg I have Intel Quad core 2.50Ghz 4,00gb ddr3 RAM (3,5 usable) ATI HD 5700 graphics 32 bit windows For the 1st 2 weeks everything was working great, I had not a single crash so I had everything maxed out except shadow detail (I had it on medium), cos towns like Markarth would eat my FPS. Even then I had this weird graphic glitch mostly noticeable by the fireplace in Breeze house. To avoid black screens and CTD's I had to lower my video options to medium. Now I have antialiasing off anisotropic filtering off texture quality medium readial blur low shadow detail low decal quantity none FXAA - is off water all 4 stats are on view distance everything is maxed distant object detail low object detail fade is off And the Breeze fireplace now really looks awful! HELP! Thank you in advance!
  11. I agree with the people stating that underclocking works - it worked for me - Altough I have the power, the RAM, the processor and the graphic card to run everything on High and Ultra (except e.g. the shadows drop my FPS in cities like Markarth so I've kept them on medium) - I've also lowered the graphics in general to medium. Since then and since the underclocking, I got not a single black screen, not a single CTD. It works. (it works for... hmm... 4-5 days I believe, regardless did I play for 30 minutes or 4 hours).
  12. I've noticed something that got my attention - for now we know that the crashes and the black screens are the issue of some bad communication between RAM - Skyrim - Video card. When I installed the game, any area or saved game would load so fast that I couldn't even read the longer tips of the loading screens. I have several characters, none above the level od 30. So, for the past 5-6 days, my loading of saved games takes around 20-30 seconds - which is compared to start much much longer. It takes so long that sometimes even 3 tips appear on the screen. So my question is - does anyone has any idea what builds up the game cache and where, and is there any way simply to flush it as you would e.g. do with your RAM cache? I totally agree with this. It is obvious that Betty is NOT doing as much as they could to help us with these issues. For the 1st 2 weeks I had not a single problem with anything - except noticing some stupid bugs; and since then until this moment I am constantly fighting with CTD's, black screens, purple missing textures, unexplained huge lag spikes, upon the run of the game very long 1st load of any saved game... etc. I will be patient for one more patch, ONLY one, and then I'm asking for my money back. I have had enough of this. :wallbash: >:( Possible fix posted by Neverlight: Thank you very much Neverlight. I have no idea what those tweaks done to my game, but the graphics are better, the weird shadow issues on my character and NPC's are gone, and I haven't got any black screen since that change. Altough, occasionally I get a CTD while some area is loading, but I can live with that. So once again, thank you.
  13. THE ART OF THE PREMATURE RELEASE; I had a problem with it when I was a teenager, then I got older and more experienced and I was ok. The sad part is that most of the Betty's people are around their 40s and they really should've know better.
  14. After 3 week of playing, after 4 totally different created characters, after 1 finished main quest storyline, I really do not understand why did everyone, but I mean EVERYONE, from the professional gameworld give so high score to Skyrim. This game is indeed brilliant in some moments, but when those moments pass slowly again I sink into the cons of the game... I intend not to repeat what was said before me on this thread, with which I agree with, I just need a place to let out my frustrations. I have a thing for starting TES series all over - just to experience a different approach to the gameplay. After I get over the half way of the character development, I tend to create a new character and try very different approach. I do that cos I like to "grow" with my character. 1st great flaw of this game, imo, is the fact that from the very start you are able to do everything. It took me not a single hour of play to discover that with system like that my getting into the character approach was taken away from me. Examples: Anyways, while the races vary allot and look different, and yes, there are those racial skills that are individual - I cannot shake the feeling that whatever I create after level 5-10 it all feels the same. And then the thing most of us where really looking forward (I refer to the Creation kit) gets taken away from us by those money greedy Steam people. Morrowind I played for over 3 years almost every day, and enjoyed every second of it. Mods made sure of it. Then came the Oblivion. It was different, the feeling was not quite as Morrowind but I still enjoyed it and played it for 2 years - but with heavy influence of the mods, without which I would stop playing the game. And on the 11.11. came Skyrim, after anticipated it for months and months, after dreaming how epic it will be while looking those screenshots that Betty was sharing in a very greed fashion... I finally got the game. It was sold in first 3 days in my whole country. So for my dreamed Skyrim, it is 3rd week and I'm taking a break. A long one. Until the CK comes out. After those with more talent then me from this community fix all the wrongs that Betty has done... I believe I wont play anymore. I am not a teenager anymore as I was when playing Morrowind... and to keep one eye closed on all the flaws and bugs I simply cannot do. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is up to communities like these (and Nexus will always stay my fav, even if the Steam opens 100 workshops for mods) to save the game and restore the faith we have had in TES since Morrowind. Goodnight everyone, keep one eye up on the sky. And sorry for my bad english, this Duvakiin hales from a small country far far away...
  15. I've seen a dragon pick up a man and once and once a horse. I've crashlanded my last dragon yesterday, and once before. ;) Yep, it is possible.
  16. :D :D :D :D :D  ...You close your eyes to sleep and freak out for the moment cos of the Black screen though. :D
  17. I refuse to pay, but would donate. I would rather accept donations from satisfied gamers. And I stand behind it. One of the reasons why I was so looking forward to Skyrim is cos I am preparing to create whole series of mods. I totally disagree with the p2p system with mods - cos as it was said by some above, not everyone can afford it. To hell, not everyone even has the technical part working (working online credit card, paypal... etc) so that they can really buy stuff. I am an artist, and I really do know what happened to my art when money got involved in it. Something that was holy to me, got dirt on it from money. Something that I was doing for myself, for my soul, for fun, for friends... Is now oriented to be done for money, and I hardly have time to do something for myself again. I will not buy a single mod. Not today, not tomorrow. Not ever. Imo. Period. On the other hand, if I find a brilliantly done mod (e.g. I could count at least 5 from Oblivion at this moment) I will be more then glad to donate 1-5 $ to the author, and Im sure that from 20 downloaders 1-2 would do it - now calculate the number of downloads of some mods from Oblivion - the positive feedback would be rewarding and motivating to those authors.
  18. Allow me to be as brief as I can be: HELL NO TO STEAM WORKSHOP! NEVER EVER WILL I USE IT! I would sacrifice my marokei mask from my Breton girl that steam is guilty for the late release of the KC! I've been here from Morrowind as a lurker and a guest, over the Oblivion as registered, then Dragon Age, and there is no way that I will leave this GREAT COMMUNITY with so awesome and creative modders! Stay strong, stay united people! >:(
  19. So I went to the my documents -> and deleted Skyrim .ini files, and guess what - after the game created new ones - again I have no black screens and game freezing's. :wallbash: I wouldn't say a single word if I didn't try that step 10x and nothing happened. There are some major instability issues with the PC version of the game.
  20. Ok, so I reinstalled Skyrim, and for some reason that fixed the game. Not a single ctd or black screen. So I became an arch mage, until lvl 16 (30minutes ago) not a single crash or black screen. Went on a carriage trip and guess what - all of the sudden I cannot load any of my saved games without crash. WHAT TO HELL?! After that the patch is out if it is not fixed I am asking for my money back. To hell with this game. Shame on you Betty.
  21. Amen to that. Can't wait for the patch to come out.
  22. I possibly found a solution; it's a long shot, but it worked for me maybe it will for you to. I have played the game from 11.11.2011. and until yesterday I had not a single crash. From yesterday, the game is unplayable. Black screen crash prevented 10 full minutes of playtime (it starts with the black screen, sometimes it freezes after it, sometimes I would get BSOD, but hardcore restart would be a must for me). So my friend google and I went on a journey. After over 40 pages of random forums, official and unofficial I've noticed a pattern: Looks like most of us played the game ok from the start, then we all got some weird FPS increase based on nothing, and all off the sudden we cannot play the game anymore. I tried sound fix, didn't help. I tried all those .dll mods and graphics tweaking and driver updates and all that sh*t... And finally I tried the solution that worked on games from the 90's - when it's broke simply uninstall it and install it again. For over 2 and a half hours I'm playing with not a single crash. Now that is weird. I am also pissed about how the things are rolling and Betty should really do something about it. At 1st my heart almost stopped cos I thought that again I have a hardware problem. It sucks to buy a game and have to reinstall it every 10th day. Patch, you better be worth it. p.s. BACKUP your saved games!!!
  23. Ok, here's my issue and possible hint: Until yesterday I was playing Skyrim since the day I bought it (1st day) with NO PROBLEMS at all. I'm running Intel QuadCore 2,50GHz, 2GB DDR3, 32bit win7, ATI HD 5700 graphics. Yesterday I menaged to get some crazy trojan from a friend's USB stick and after few hours of fight decided to give up. Anyways, I formatted windows drive, installed OS from scratch, forgot to backup my Skyrim save files :wallbash:, installed Skyrim - and guess what - windows are clean and work great, BUT I am crashing with BLACK screen or crashing to desktop. So, the game works like a charm with not a single crash for almost two weeks and now I can't play for longer then 10 minutes. My graphic card is NOT overheating. And that sound FIX done nothing also. I'm 80% sure that the issue is related with the graphic card drivers - but why can I play other games with no problem?! And installation of drivers went smooth. Tried the one from the graphic card CD, tried the one that I downloaded from the ATI driver support page, and even allowed windows to update the drivers and they did. I am tired of uninstalling and installing different drivers... cos all of the sudden NOTHING works. This is a freakin' mistery. HELP!
