  1. I downloaded Enboost and the purple textures are all gone, so 100% certain this was a RAM-related problem. Now I'm just learning how to tweak Enboost correctly so it doesn't make Skyrim stutter as much. The issue is solved :)
  2. I've checked out the mod Enboost and am thinking about giving that a shot as well. It really looks like RAM usage is the baddie.
  3. I actually don't have an enblocal.ini file, I suppose it's because I do not use any ENBs?
  4. Ah, that might be it then. I'll try playing without 2k for a session and see if the purple comes back. Thanks for the help :)
  5. I don't see how it could be, since the textures work again later?
  6. So 3-4 different times now I've done the little comeback to Skyrim, and each time I have started over completely fresh. That means a whole new shiny character, a new weekend to completely devote to hunting down mods for the playthrough, along with the obligatory curse-words that come with being an overly ambitious mod addict, and getting the Bethesda logo crash due to clashing mods, and having to serach through that new list of mods looking for the culprit. Always as fun. But now's the fifth time I've returned, I decided to keep it rather close to vanilla Skyrim and only focus on texture mods, Skyrim HD-2k Textures to be precise. I use the lite version of the mod because I honestly do not see that big a difference between 2k and 4k. Anyways, I've gotten pretty well started in this new character now, without any issues at all, but after 6 hours in on the character, I sometimes get any number of different things turning purple. Usually this happens when I enter a house like a tavern or shop, but it's happened once or twice that I stroll around outside and a random encounter like the thief or Alik'r interrogating women on the road show up with purple boots or hoods for example. Usually the issue resolves itself if I just leave and re-enter the cell is it right to call it that?) But it's a pretty big nuisance that I'd rather live without. The issue ONLY ever happens when I use the 2k Textures mod ( I did some googling around, and most people that have this problem mention things like "running out of Vram" or some sort of error with the textures, but their purple issue is constant, mine is just once every hour or so, the game doesn't crash if I keep on playing, I don't get a drop in FPS, nada. So my question is; why does this happen? And if my load order and PC specs would help solving it, I'll gladly put them on here, but generally I suppose I'm just looking for an answer or even a theory to why this happens. Tldr; Why Skyrim purple?
  7. How come if there is no way for Skyrim to use more memory than 4gig (being a 32-bit game), some PCs can run 4k graphics along with a wide list of script-heavy mods, ENB and general overhauls without much of a dip in performance, while other PCs with more than well enough specs get plagued with constant CTDs, purple textures and general lag when just trying to run 2 or 3 mods? Shouldn't it be the same for everyone?
