  1. that doesn't sound very bad. the affected areas to the east and west could be highly radioactive and barren for example. one could still build roads there and buildings. such a limitation could actually inspire people to make some unique content without NPCs. Not every area has to be action packed. There's still a lot one can do without NPCs like puzzle dungeons (vaults/factories/laboratories). And we're forgetting something. I see no reason why that would affect interior areas. Which means, even there, one should be able to populate interiors. And if interior areas would be affected, one could just make fake interiors (actual new lands but walled). and of course one could always just place a map marker at the far ends to teleport people to the next area (another new land). it's basically a non issue. what we now need is people who know how to add content or are willing to learn. i just hope there are still some out there.
  2. like i said a post above yours, i did it. it is of course empty, but with the workshop you can add pretty much everything you want ingame and with the creation kit people can add all sorts of things to it. The big plus for everyone who wants to build anything ingame or with the creation kit is that there's no stuff there to stand in your way. you don't have to remove ugly grass or trees or dirt or clutter... i'm not sure about its size, but it's huge. possibly endless. when you travel to the world you are shown in the middle of the vanilla map. i went ahead and ran in one direction long after i was no longer shown on the map and there was still no end in sight. i suspect it's possible that the game generates cells when it needs them if there are no specified borders. if not, it's still bigger than the vanilla game.
  3. done https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28531/
  4. it seems i have succeded in creating an infinite world. will test it a bit more and then upload it. the engine did not complain.
  5. so with passes it's not limited at all. I'd be fine with passes. fast travel is behind loading screens anyway. is there a simple way to generate some land? if no one else is gonna do it, i might give it a try.
  6. it seems what i'm asking for is not much bigger than fallout 3. it's a mystery to me why they went with a world 4 times as small as fallout 3's with fallout 4.
  7. i don't understand what there is that is so hard to handle by the game engine. tamriel rebuilt has a huge landmass added to morrowind and all they had to do was to change the world map. here's Tamriel do you see? and in the north east is morrowind. do you see? and tamriel is several times bigger than morrowind. do you see? and it all runs on the same old morrowind engine. do you see? Final Numbers Skyrim=14.5 sq miles Oblivion=22 sq miles Morrowind=9.3 sq miles FO3=50 sq miles FO:NV=21 sq miles Fallout 4=14.2 sq miles daggerfall=62,394 sq miles do you see?
  8. Is there a reason why nobody made a huge landmass the size of daggerfall's yet for Fallout 4? I mean it's the perfect game for it with the radiant quests and the settlement mechanics. One wouldn't even need to fill the land with anything other than some procedurally generated random dungeons/cellars/bunkers because players could build the cities themselves. the "dungeons" could also get added to the game by the community as "submods" for the landmass mod. All we really need is land.
