  1. The fact you say what you do and come out to say it does speak volumes man. So many companies try to do damage control after things have hit a major crisis level, you're working to contain it before it gets to that crisis point. I'm certain you guys will figure it out soon.
  2. In response to post #28803344. Thank you. I downloaded the update because I wanted to help out a bit with it(knowing full well my game could be broken which did unfortunately happen and I had to go in and fix it), and I do think it's interesting what's been done. Though unfortunately there are people who see "Ooh new version, must download because it must give new features and no drawbacks!" That isn't the case, and that's why people unfortunately are whining and spewing vitriol. They don't know how to read. Anyways, thanks for clarifying for those unsure of what it is.
  3. In response to post #28804049. No one forced you to update to the bleeding edge. This is a beta release for a reason.
  4. In response to post #28793429. #28793509, #28794449, #28800694 are all replies on the same post. You WERE warned. If you read the prior news posting you would see it. You have no excuse, tldr doesn't fly here. I can admit Dark0ne has some long-winded posts, but again, the warning was there. Along with the installer warning you with big red letters to read below.
  5. A really neat update, though as quite a few others have had happened it ended up breaking my Skyrim. Thankfully I could narrow it down without too much trouble and it was a matter of reinstalling the mod causing the crash in question(Climates of Tamriel, it didn't reinstall properly so my other mods couldn't call on it properly. I'm wondering if this is just an anomaly within the transfer process, though I'm curious as to whether NMM has a feature in which it saves specific set upon installation of a mod through it. Perhaps some enlightenment on this? EDIT: After diving a bit deeper, I found it was even more broken than I anticipated. I'm going to attempt to reinstall my mods and see if this fixes my issues. I'm sad to say I have to abandon the character I had been working on for a while, but I'm going to grit my teeth and bear it for now. If I get more issue I will probably update this post.
  6. I actually got to experience it a bit before I went to bed the night before, it caught me off-guard and I double-checked to make sure I had the required files beforehand(which I did). It's definitely a nice feature to see and gives the non-readers less of an excuse to complain when they didn't follow directions. Very cool new feature indeed!
  7. Man, it's definitely been a wild ride Dark0ne. I still remember when the site was using the old style setup(and betatesting the now standard setup), and now onto cluster servers and other complex things that make this novice IT person's head spin. Just know that eventually problems do get resolved, and that you need your own break from the insanity, otherwise you could end up burning yourself out. But here's to 2014 being a better year, for everyone!
  8. It's hard to give you any sort of answer when we don't have any idea what your system is. The game doesn't even require that much in terms of CPU(I was able to run it on a hyperthreaded Pentium 4 at about 77% CPU usage), it's more reliant on the graphics. There's no way to improve your framerate other than to remove the ENB or get a much better graphics card. Again, if you want more precise answers, TELL US WHAT YOUR BUILD IS!
  9. Specs? You might have a processor that's overkill for the game, but your RAM and video card might be too slow to handle it. And we can't know without knowing what your computer build is.
  10. Awesome, you guys got the cluster setup going? Let's hope that things become smoother with this transition!
  11. Current character being played? Female, though I have had a few male characters go through misadventures(Like one who was so deranged, he shot every chicken he saw with a bow. Not kidding, and it was hilarious when I would run out of town chased by some very angry people.) as well. As for why, I find it fun sometimes, plus there's more mods for customization(I love making my female toons look cool without looking ridiculous). Though the character that I hold dearest is my Nord I called Captain Concussion. A daedric helmet, a mace(no shield), and leather armor made for a rather hilarious "super hero". But I digress, I like female characters because I feel I can customize them a bit more than a male character.
  12. What the others said. You only need the internet to ACTIVATE Skyrim, after that you don't have to be online. Steam is in online mode by default and it can be a little tricky to find Offline Mode with a connection, which can cause the confusion. As Dante said, it will give you the choice to start it in Offline mode if there is no connection available.
  13. My system isn't very powerful compared to the rigs I've seen here, but it can't hurt to post up what I have. Chassis: Full size tower(don't remember the name though...) MB: Foxconn 925XE7AA CPU: Pentium 4 3.4 GHz (Hyper-threaded) Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 RAM: 2GB (1GB DDR2(x2)(Dual Channel)) Hard Drive: IDE 80GB; 1TB EHDD PSU: 700w Monitor: Acer 15.6" Sound: Onboard(capable of 6.1 surround); stereo 2.1 Input: PS/2 multimedia keyboard, USB mouse, PS3 controller OS: Windows 7 Professional (32 bit) Not too powerful, but it handles what I want to play. It handles The Last Remnant pretty well, and I wanna get Skyrim and try it out just to see how it would run.
  14. Whenever I have my friends over, I have them play a bit more of both Demon Souls and Dark Souls. I have, and have beaten both of them, and in my opinion, are some of the great games that are released nowadays. As stated above, these have incredible locations, designed in such ways as to convey strong emotions... that is, when you aren't fighting for your life. It's a complete game too, which I love. I get irritated when games leave you feeling unaccomplished, and pissed when they pull out stuff that should have been there just so they can milk more money out of it in 'day-one' DLC. No shady money making tactics here, just a complete package. Firebombs on the Taurus Demon... Definitely a valid strategy to use on it. My first time fighting the beast was spent mostly doing dive attacks, and even that left me feeling extremely satisfied. Second time through, I just used a curved sword, a good shield, and good dodging skills to kill it. A lot of the bosses take a bit of watching and learning, developing a strategy as to how to kill it, and it's something I've been trying to drill into the minds of my friends. Definitely have fun with Smough and Ornstein, and the area known as Anor Londo. The area itself is beautiful, and very deadly. The actual fight is quite rough, and depending on how you approach it, can either increase slightly in difficulty halfway through, or spike up a lot. It's always fun to read people's reactions to the Souls series, in my opinion. Especially the positive ones, with the adrenaline rush. Those make me smile.
  15. Can't wait until I have my computer back up and running, I've been wanting to use this thing since I heard about it. Oblivion will be brought back to life for me~
