  1. So after two months of not being able to play I spend the weekend downloading Skyrim from steam, and downloading and installing my mods. I've added guard dialogue overhaul, ineed, timing is everything, skyfalls/skymills, and splash of rain to my mod list this time around. I'm also using the most up to date versions of my other mods. So anyways I start a new game like always with life another life, and like usual I head straight for Whiterun (using the Riverwood inn start), and I find it locked. I've never had this happen before, so I'm kinda lost. Is it one of the mods I just installed or is it one of my other ones that updated? I was contemplating on using the unlock command but I'm not sure if it would break things. Anyone have any ideas? So current load order from boss:
  2. So is there any mod similar to the Dovahkiin Journeyman armor mod that was for Skyrim? If there is does it also supports males (I only play male characters)? I really liked using that in Skyrim, but haven't had any luck with finding something similar for Oblivion so far. Any help would be much appreciated.
  3. I know there's a few chests in the vanilla game that do not have the lids attached. Is that the sort of thing you're talking about?
  4. Copy pasted from my Bethsoft thread. Figured if I posted this in two forums, I might be able to get help sooner. I'd like to do my own take on the vampire thing, and I want to set it up similarly to how I have it in the story I'm putting together. Details for those that are interested: Anyways, as mentioned above, I'd like to have it so that once you use one, you're stuck with that power, and lose access to the others. For example if one were to pick Vampire Seduction, they would lose access to Embrace of Shadows, and Vampire's Servant. I'm probably going to have to mess with the script to do this, and I really don't know anything about scripting. This is definitely where the help is going to be needed. One more thing I'd like to do is have an alternate "reversed" version. So instead of getting stronger powers without feeding, the powers get weaker. I would also have to edit the stage message, but I'm not sure if I missed that in the script or if its somewhere else. To give it a more complete feel I want to give Vampire Seduction and Embrace of Shadows different stages like with Vampire's Servant, to play with either version. Any stat suggestions for that would be nice. I might stick to the Vampire's Servant levels for Vampire Seduction though. I just want to do this for Dawnguard only.
  5. Let me guess the same area I use for my house? That others also use for their houses? I can't blame them, its not just a nice spot, but its the convenience of it being there. It's just a matter of conflicts with other great mods, and there ends up being a lot of those. But if you're mainly making this for yourself first then go for it.
  6. Would Arcwind Point count? That's probably my favorite even if it is an exterior one, just from being snug inside the mountains and how nice it is to travel through from both ends (minus the enemies of course).
  7. Honestly if you're not going to cause issues for a mod author then I wouldn't worry about them banning you from their mod (or all their mods). Most mod authors that I'm aware of are fine with constructive criticism (if it actually is). This is mostly for those that need to deal with user's that constantly aggravate them in some way or another. For instance if there is a user that's going to leave inflammatory remarks on my mod why should I let that user download my file as well? If you don't do this, then again I wouldn't worry.
  8. I know Oblivion nexus has some tags for the body mods there. Could we get a sort of tag update for the Skyrim nexus with these tags? I mainly would like to block out said mods that require these replacers, but still be able to search for mods for female characters. I know it would probably come in handy for those that would want to use the tag search as well to find mods that use these specific replacers.
  9. Thank you for finally doing this. Not that I run into user's that give me trouble much, but if I ever did run into one (or many), I will most likely put this new system to good use (and the report button if need be). I like to think that everyone has a privilege to use other people's mods, and if they've done something like harass, or something else negative to the mod author then the mod author should have every right to remove said user's privilege (access) to the mod in question.
  10. I just found Westly's hairpack last night. Have yet to give it a try. I'll go and check out the others as well. Thanks.
  11. I just recently got back into Morrowind after what seems like forever. Been trying out a lot of mods, and found several I like, but I haven't found any hair mods. I know there's the face and hair pack thing, but I'm just looking for hairs. I saw some nice ones here on the nexus, but sadly they're female only. :\ So are there any out there that cater to male characters as well?
  12. Got that load balancer cluster thing as well when I tried getting on skyrim nexus just right now. Also had that database is struggling repeated message thing when I got on to Oblivion nexus the other day to check messages/tracked mods/etc.
  13. That's because its just a texture/mesh replacer. There is no esp needed for it to work. Just drag the mesh and textures folder into the data folder and go play the game.
  14. Whatever hasn't been done yet? I honestly don't know. It's been years since both Morrowind and Oblivion came out and brilliant mods are still being made. I expect the same for Skyrim. This community holds so much creativity, amongst other things, that can definitely keep modding alive for some time.
  15. I wish I would have seen this earlier. I don't think I ever laughed so hard at something Skyrim related before. Glad it was all figured out though.
  16. New saves with it disabled, and not a crash. I enabled it, and reloaded a save right outside riverwood, and crossed the bridge, and right as soon as a wolf attacked me it crashed. Now its just a matter of finding out why its causing crashes in the first place. Edit: I've gone and hidden the mod until the issue can be diagnosed and corrected. It's probably just on my end, but because I'm not sure I don't want others to download it until I'm positive its either on my end only, or something I can easily correct if it is something gone wrong in the mod.
  17. So I'll be following the path from Riverwood to Whiterun, and shortly after crossing the bridge, it will instantly ctd. On a new save, fresh install. Cleaned Update, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn with Tes5Edit before starting the game. I use boss. The only "new" mod I'm using is one that I created. My Little Vampire Castle. I cleaned that as well. Other then that I'm using the same mods as before and update when I can. The only exception is in regards to Skyrim Flora Overhaul. Using the old summer edition 175, but since it never gave me trouble before, I'm doubting that as the culprit. Boss list below: SKSE Plugins below: Unrecognized Plugins:
  18. I either stick to the vanilla followers or any of my characters that I've made into followers. In other words I usually just ignore follower mods. And the main reason I even use followers is to use them as a pack mule, unless I just want some company while exploring, which is seldom anyways.
  19. Perhaps give my Springberry Manor a try? It does require dlc though, namely Hearthfire and Dawnguard, and optionally Dragonborn. If not I'm sure there's got to be plenty of others that should meet your needs out there.
  20. Go into your user area and click the link to the tracking centre.
  21. So to start off the quest I decided to head out to the Mzulft Storeroom and grab the Aetherium shard there first. Nothing happened after picking up the piece, so I head back outside and head to the main ruin where the corpse with the book was supposed to be. No corpse, no book, but the blood splatter was still there. I ignored it and continued to Deep Folk Crossing and picked up the next piece and then finally made my way to Arkngthamz. After heading inside I looted Katria's corpse, and no journal, and after speaking with her the quest still has not started. So I'd like to ask if anyone has a clue as to what is causing this. I've never had any issue with this quest starting before. And yes I've done this quest in this order before. The only other quests I've done were I'll Met By Moonlight, March of the Dead, and The Black Star in this order.
  22. What I've started to do to prevent this confusion is I've been renaming the mod archive with the appropriate mod name if they end up being called main file or something similar. I also keep a folder structure similar to the nexus categories to keep everything more organized.
  23. This is probably going to be a dumb question but do you pay attention to your fatigue bar? The more you attack, the less fatigue you'll have and the less damage you do. So it might be easy to attack an enemy at first but it can take longer to finish it if you don't have enough fatigue left.
  24. Aw that's sad. :c Maybe some good luck might float your way and you could get the help you need to get it working.
  25. Please bare with me as I'm not great at explaining things. Two I'm still learning how to weight paint personally, and lastly what I'm about to explain is for blender, so if you use something different it may or may not be helpful. In any case first you import the mesh with the skeleton. The mesh must be parented to the skeleton. Then there's the weight paint mode. Under vertex groups, you'll have a list of the bones. When weight painting you'll be selecting vertices and assigning them weights. There are different colors for the different weights. Also each different mesh would need to be individually weight painted (as in an actual different mesh, not just a bunch of copies of one mesh using different texture paths).
