  1. Not really, also people already made one playthrough. and that is on Oldrim, also,i don't play the game withouth some mods, and there are some mods that actually NEED skse. which means i cannot play the game, btw, the search bar on skyui 2.2 does not work, which is a really bother when you have a ton of mods, also, the icons are really bad and the icon mod that some people are using is also really bad in my opinion XD, so no, the game is not playable withouth skse once you play with it, and no, you cannot achieve the same results as Requiem for instance which i do not like, but you cannot achieve the same results with ''various mods'', something will ALWAYS be missing, i am one of those who got boring of the game and waiting for skse and by the time it gets here i will not be the only one, i used to check this foru, 5 times a day, now i check once a week. My post was in reply to the poster who was going ahead with another playthrough on SSE, and waiting for his favorite mods (which work with workarounds now) to be later tweaked for SKSE64. In that context, I was saying that he would probably finish his playthrough before that happens. Obviously, my reply doesn't apply to someone who prefers not to play SSE at all for now.
  2. This, along with the so very many popular mods that have been ported with workarounds (like spells) to replace the MCM functionality, is why I now encourage folks to go ahead and play SE. Many mod authors have said (usually in their pinned posts at their mod page) that they will re-tweak their ported mods once SKSE becomes available for SE. This means you can have your cake and eat it too. Go ahead and enjoy the stability of SE now and then switch over after SKSE has been released and the majority of your favorite mods have been tweaked to get rid of the workarounds and use SKSE instead. The only problem I foresee is that replacing the mods with the updated ones will probably break saves. So you will most likely have to start a new game. Chances are that you would finish one playthrough before SKSE64 is released, and then mods are retweaked for that. So yes, people should be playing SSE now, without waiting for SKSE64. Most good mods are now available for SSE. And a truckload of them together don't cause stuttering or CTDs like oldrim. That itself is sufficient to warrant SSE sans SKSE64.
  3. How can SKSE64 help you with that particular issue? (VRAM limit)?
  4. SSE is a helluva lot more stable and performance friendly. It's worth playing SSE over oldrim, even without SKSE. SKSE would be great to have when (if?) it arrives.
  5. SKSE64 provides far more for scripting than I could possibly mention in one posting here. I have to wonder if the people who downplay its importance have ever written a script in their life. Probably not - most people who visit these forums are not script writers, but game players. And my question is from that perspective. Most mods available to the game player in Oldrim are no available in Newrim. If I was "downplaying the importance of SKSE", I was doing so as a game player, who can use most of the important mods in SSE - not as a script writer. I thought that it was obvious from my post, that I was asking as a gamer - why a game player needs to wait for SKSE. Not why a script writer should wait for it. Your snark/speculation about whether I write scripts or not, is therefore rather moot.
  6. so true! honestly the only reason i stopped playing se is because im waiting for expanded towns and cities, and dyndolod. skyui is good but not essential for me. Just letting you know that the latest Dyndolod works on SE, as a beta.
  7. Things like frosfall, realistic needs and disease, campfire, hunterborn.. Basically all mods that require MCM to set them up.. AND OF COURSE jiggling boobies because this is the only good way to enjoy your brand new ''fighting'' animations!  Every one of them is already available in Skyrim SE, except jiggling boobies. Other mods that required an MCM have also found a way around the lack of the same, like Vivid weathers has a spellbook in-game to tune settings. This is why I asked the question. I wonder if most people who say that Skyrim SE is unplayable without SKSE have actually checked out what is already available. I really don't see the need to put off playing SSE any longer, to wait for SKSE. It doesn't seem to be an essential mod anymore, except for body physics. I doubt you will miss anything in SSE, except the boobs and butt physics. The amazing stability and improved performance of the game makes Oldrim a no-go. Most major mods from Oldrim have been ported to SE, with or without SKSE. I think people should simply boot up Newrim and have fun playing it, and consider SKSE to be a "good to have" mod if and when it arrives, rather than a "must have" mod without which one cannot play skyrim.
  8. May I ask, what mods you all are so eagerly waiting for, that's dependant on SKSE? There's SkyUI of course, but what else is there that's absolutely essential for a Skyrim playthrough? For me, the texture, weather and graphics mods make the world beautiful. None of them require SKSE.
  9. I do use them, and usually go for the highest available (Sometimes even 8k). However, I'm running at 1080p. Is there any advantage to running higher? If not, with a 1080p resolution, what's the highest I should be using? Well, this here is the issue as far as VRAM limit is concerned. For 1080p, 4k and above is rather pointless. Use 2k versions of all mods, and your vram requirement would come down substantially. Since you say that you CtD when you approach 4 gb VRAM, this is the place to start. You won't notice any visual degradation. Just try it.
