  1. I had to go look that up. I'm currently doing a playthrough with no vehicles, and a thermometer would be helpful. It's listed on the cut content page, so yup, not available. If you're not adding this complexity to your game, all of the vehicles show temperature.
  2. Thank you for the warm welcome! It's not the mod I was looking for, but it is one I was eyeballing while trying to find the other. I'll certainly play with it. Thanks for the research!
  3. Hello! First, I'm so glad this thread is still active! I was a little worried it might have died off. I'm one of those people who have decided to vacation in Oblivion again, because I liked it so much the first time! Of course, I have a different computer, so I'm trying to get all my favorite mods back, and there's one I can't seem to find .... An alternate start mod, where you choose who you are (there were at least 3 choices, but I don't think there were many more than that) and based on your choice, you were started with your own (small, not overpowered) home and equipment. Spells and such too, I think. I remember you could be a thief or rogue (maybe hunter or assassin) type character and you started in a personal campsite, or a mage, and you started with a small aylieid ruin home .... I think there was like a blacksmith option as well that started you as an adopted child of a blacksmith in one of the cities. I loved that mod, Any help would earn you gold star!
  4. I love hidden passages and secret entrances!
  5. I started this and then life happened for a few months, but now I'm back. What I want to do is huge, quite possibly beyond my scope, but I still want to try. I also need to know how to create an alternate start.
  6. I also have this question. I'm just barely beginning work on a mod, but I'd like to package it with the options menu thing that OMODs/FOMODs use. I know you can do it for Skyrim, because I've seen other mods with it (Like SKYUI for example). I just have no clue how to do it. Any help?
  7. I'm a new modder. By that I mean I have an idea which I think is awesome, and am currently trying to teach myself the modding tools. So I'm not really about to begin just yet, but I'm looking for some advice. The new mod I would like to create is, I think, pretty complex. Certain things I want to implement or have in my mod already exist, created by other modders. I'm aware of how this works, if I'm going to use someone else's mod I have to get their permission first. So, assuming I have done that, my question is as follows: How do I combine, say, 3 existing mods to form the base for my new mod? What is the easiest method. I'm talking about different types of mods, e.g.: A housing mod, a skill tree mod, and a horse mod. After creating such a base, I would have to make some tweaks and add some stuff. Then I'd address the issue of possibly making it an alternate start. But for now, any advice is quite appreciated. Another question occurs to me, If I cannot get permission, perhaps I could reverse-engineer a couple of mods that do some of the things I want (which may be a better option in some instances anyway), so how would I go about doing that? And do I need the original mod author's permission to do so?
  8. Thanks for that bit, Steve. I doubt I would do something like that, but since it's been so long since I read the TOS, it's nice to run across reminders. Yes, that's a serious, random thank you.
  9. have you tried General Stores? I know they have a Hearthfire setup, I believe there are player mod homes that use it, and I saw when I just searched for it that there is a "Vanilla Houses" WIP. If you search the nexus for General Stores, you will find lots of plug ins for it, and there are some listed on the page as well.
  10. Good question. I'll be watching this topic as well in case someone answers.
  11. Yes, please?
  12. Detect Borders Spell! I like it!
  13. That's an interesting idea. I'm a baby modder, just teaching myself the CK at this point, so I'm no help, but I like the idea. I would think another thing that may cause hesitation is where to place the word walls so you can learn the shouts. Unless a workaround is given, like being taught (the way the greybeards teach you). Just my noobish 2 cents.
  14. I agree. The vanilla looks silly. You kill the wolf, but when you go to loot the corpse, the bolt is just stuck in it's hair. Pfft. I looked at the mod you refer to, but didn't like the idea of huge fat bolts, I just want them to look like they penetrate, like the arrows do. It would be nice if it were compatible with mods that alter colors or give auras and such, but I'd pick penetrating bolts over the others if I had a choice.
