  1. LIFE The vastnessAnd the nothingnessThe difference between themIs the human experience /// THERE IS ONLY LOVE There are no coincidences. There are only consequences. There is no luck. There are only probabilities. There is no talent. There is only practice. There is no safety. There are only different kinds of risks. There is no separation. There is only unity. There is no suffering. There is only love.
  2. The Awakening of Intelligence - Jiddu Krishnamurti
  3. Having finished the main quest of Far Harbor today, my thoughts: Pros: Awesome scenery Interesting quests (some of the best of FO4 overall IMO) & great storyline Interesting characters Tough decisions Cons: Performance issues All in all, this is easily the best DLC so far and the characters and quests are what I wish the whole base game was more like For me personally, the highlight of the DLC was the Cliff's Edge Hotel and the quest called "Brain Dead"
  4. No, you're not missing anyhting. That's the way it is (in the vanilla game, at least). Some mods though (like the Raider Overhaul, for example) do add new items that you can craft at some workstations
  5. Old World Radio version 4.0 adds a variety of billboards, posters and flags Immersive Vendors make the stores look a helluva lot more realistic Lore Friendly Posters adds a variety of posters Vault Posters adds a selection of vault-themed posters Minutemen Propaganda Posters (my mod) adds a selection of Minutemen-themed posters Also I would suggest looking into retexture mods as well if you haven't already, there are tons out there that improve the looks of most vanilla textures ;)
  6. A lot of it comes down to the matter of your own preferences, but I've managed to mod the game to a very decent level of graphics IMO and am happy to share the list of mods I used. Here's the list of my preferred mods and example screenshots + video as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/49da3p/selection_of_the_best_graphics_mods_for_fallout_4/ It's "as of" the beginning of March though, so some very awesome mods have been released in the meantime (e.g. Grasslands, Ojo Bueno Milk Machine, Pip-Boy Flashlight). I'm going to do a new video of my current setup as well soon though, so stay tuned to my YT channel or Nexus page if interested
  7. Couldn't agree more with the OP. Although there is so much more that could be added to the list... What's the deal with Gunners anyway? They were supposed to be a group of mercenaries... well then, why can't I hire them? Why do they shoot me on sight? I didn't know I had bounty on my head???
  8. Vramsizetest gives incorrect answers unfortunately. Try this setting first and see if it works: ForceVideoMemorySize=true VideoMemorySizeMb=8192 If it doesn't you have to calculate the right number according to the instructions in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSz84F1kgkM
  9. It's in the Fallout 4 main folder. That is in case you are using ENB of course :) If you're not then this is solution is clearly not the right one this time :D
  10. This may be due to your "VideoMemorySizeMb" being incorrect in enblocal.ini Honestly it looks like no one really knows 100% how you should set it up, but the setting that worked for me (and others as well I've read) is: ForceVideoMemorySize=true VideoMemorySizeMb=8192 You can also take a look at this video by tapioks, it may help get you get an approximate idea to what settings you could try using: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSz84F1kgkM
  11. The fog is there with the vanilla game and you can find mods to disable it eg. FogOut. If by the blur you mean the depth of field effect; then you can disable it with all ENB/ReShade presets: If you are using ReShade DoF, go to: Fallout 4/ReShade and open McFX.cfg with Notepad or another text editor Ctrl+f "define USE_DEPTHOFFIELD" Set it to 0: define USE_DEPTHOFFIELD 0 If you are using ENB DoF, go to: Fallout 4 main folder and open enbseries.ini Ctrl+f "EnableDepthOfField=" Set it to false: EnableDepthOfField=false If you're not sure which one you are using, I suggest checking both
  12. IMHO there are plenty of very nice presets available already. What has worked the best for me so far is a combination of: ReShade preset from: Cinematic Excellence 6.4 (Natural preset, Medium sharpening, DoF effect disabled) by Archalyus http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/95 ENB preset from: Grim Wolf ReShade and ENB Presets: Grim Wolf Institute ASD Bright 2.3.1 by WolfGrimDark http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4568 ... with my own customized DoF preset, uploaded to Nexus as: Insane Power Burger ENB DoF Preset by Insane Power Burger http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10719 See the screenshots and the video for the result :)
  13. I was expecting something awful but that was actually really good! Thumbs up from me :)
  14. The only place where I've had to reload over and over again was to save Kent Connolly Other than that... hmm, I reloaded an earlier save after I found out that "donating" the crops from a farm in the wasteland actually means handing the whole damn settlement over to the BoS... I'm sure there are more situations like this but these are the most memorable ones
  15. I'd like to add a few important ones: sucsm (insert number) - to change the free camera speed (default was 20 I think? not sure) fov (insert number) - to change the field of view. 30-60 is zoomed in, 70-100 is close to the default setting, over 100 gives a bit of a "fisheye effect" BTW, is there any way to use the "tm" command without pausing the game? I remember New Vegas didn't pause when usign that command but FO4 pauses and that makes it useful for just screenshots, not videos
  16. The terminals often have very amusing texts stored in them ... A few examples: http://imgur.com/a/CvOsF
  17. How do you transfer mods? I scrap the weapon and seem to scrap the mods too  The way I've done this is by building the default/standard variants of the mods, so the mods will be placed in your inventory. Next time you are going to put them on your weapon, it does not say "build" the mod but "equip" the mod. However, building the standard version also requires those precious materials so I too would be interested if you could just unequip a mod
  18. Thanks for all the replies. To clarify, from a gameplay point of view, I can understand why this feature was implemented, I was more interested if there was any "official" explanation to if and how is this change from batteries that "last hundreds of years" to batteries that last like a day or so (in-game, have not actually measured how long they last exactly) explained in the Fallout universe. Mind you, from the lore point of view, the T51-b Power Armor in New Vegas and T51-b Power Armor in FO4 are exactly the same, no matter how different they "feel" in the games. But from I understand, there is no such explanation which is kind of sad. Not that it's that big of a deal, but what if next time they are going to change something even bigger with no apparent logical explanation? These "tweaks" kind of mess with the integrity of the whole story/setting. I mean, they could have just said that the "old big batteries" got so much damage and/or were all drained/looted by scavengers, raiders and such so that to civilian-oriented Fusion Cores have to be used instead. The Power Armors were built with that specific in mind so that in case of an emergency, there would be enough Cores in civilan use that could forcefully be taken and used by the army. Oh well, that's going to be my explanation at least :) Also I agree that the Fusion Cores should last longer, be more scarce and most importantly, not be at 100% charge all the time. Oh and companions/AI should also need to use them, plus fast travelling should drain them at least as much as if you were walking to where you travelled. My two cents
  19. So this question has been bothering me, maybe more than it should be, but IMO lore is a very important part of the Fallout series and one of the main reasons why I personally am so "into" these games. So I've been thinking about it for a while and I haven't found any explanation yet by searching so I'm just going to ask the question here: how (and if) is the requirement for using Fusion Cores to keep the Power Armors working explained in FO4? From the T-51b Fallout Wiki page we can read: and
  20. This may help some people but I don't know, for me neither setting shadow distance to medium nor setting godrays to low helped my FPS (Intel i5-4460 CPU, 8GB RAM, Radeon R9 280X, game installed on a SSD) After setting most other things from Ultra to High as well I can more-or-less keep the game playable but cities still tank my FPS to below 30
  21. I'm going to be honest here and say that I did not read the first pages of this thread through, so I assume all the "bigger" and "more important" stuff (e.g. bringing hardcore mode and weapon degragation back, better UI, etc) have all been mentioned. I also made a quick Ctrl+F and saw that nobody mentioned VATS, which brings me to a small detail that has been somewhat annoying me: tha fact that your mouse cursor remains on screen while attacking in VATS (e.g.: http://i.imgur.com/QvkgSK6.jpg). I like to try and grab sweet screenshots of my cinematic VATS kills and this little guy bugs me the hell out while doing this...
