How do I completely remove all mods and Vortex for a fresh install? I am asking because some games are currently uninstalled and I am sure they have mods lurking somewhere. My goal is to try to get Vortex to work again as it is currently not working at all for Starfield. My only realistic hope is to do a completely new fresh install with no baggage lurking in the background.

I can launch it via Steam, I cannot launch via the Vortex app.

it's a fresh install and after the problem was discovered I did a verification of the steam files. I did check around for the latest version of the Starfield Game Extension, maybe a little more looking?

I have starfield and I have returned from trucking and wanted to play. It won't launch the game anymore. Even after I pulled all of the mods from the startup and cleaned out everything else.

I now think it may be a Vortex issue, as Vortex won't launch the game in a vanilla setting

The game can launch normally. I have returned after a long period of truck driving and reinstalled the game. However not a single mod works under any circumstances. I wanted to bumrush to the status I was before and using mods was a good way to do so in my opinion.

It's worse than I thought, even turning off ALL mods will not allow Vortex to launch the game. I also removed the Script Extender, it still won't allow the game to launch.

I usually do not have issues with mods straight out of the gate. But this time it seems like nothing is working except my preset character. Again, nothing is working.... I am a reasonably skilled former windows tech. I have been unable to get any mods working. I have tried using Vortex and tried using manual. I have an ini file with the two proscribed lines in it saved specifically to documents/mygames/starfield and I have made it read only. I have tried placing these mods in that folder and in my steam folder. The game is fully updated. Vortex is fully updated. I have tried disable and uninstalling the mods in Vortex and then restarting them. I have used ~ to access cheats and have set my level to 250, my digipicks to 100,000, my medkits to 10,000, and my credits to darn near infinity (so I no longer feel compelled to pick up junk everywhere). I have rebooted several times, I have never gotten any of the mods to work. The specific mods are: Starfield Script Extender (SFSE) Address Library for SFSE Plugins Perk Up - Richer Galaxy Lazy Cheats - Aid Ammo Credits Digipicks Mass and XP Hair for Andreja Baka Achievement Enabler (SFSE) There are no indicated conflicts for these in any of the forums, there are no indicated conflicts via vortex, and the game runs like a fresh install...

I did get the mods to work, I had to reinstall them all after deleting them but they worked. Big Patch 1 ended some for a moment however.

Solution found I was able fixed it by deleting modsettings.lsx in BOTH %LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\\Baldur's Gate 3\global\ AND %AppData%\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public

One of my mods here has stopped BG3 from working. In fact after I removed all mods, renamed folders, uninstalled the game, reinstalled it still won't work. There may be other mods but this is the list of mods from Nexus. I know that twice(?) I was redirected to download mods from outside Nexus for mods on this list. This is the error message the game gives me. I guess it won't let me save the image on here. It says "Failed to load the main menu from the current game mod. The main menu in that mod requires the level. Make sure to clear any local mods and try again. If the problem persisists, please contact Larian support."
