Many women/girls are convinced that gaming is too childish or stupid and don't get involved in it or hiding it as best as they can, but tbh in more or less civil countries EVERYONE is a gamer even if that means some casual mobile or browser gaming.

    Stereotypes rules minds these days.

The only thing published publicly I helped with is the Fine Faces texture. I worked on the neck, ears and redid the feet textures for SAM body.

One day i will publish one of my mods that is not too personal (not one of my OC's is what I mean)

I also download tons of skimpy armor and have nude mods. Not for any pervy reasons, rather as an artist I find the human form beautiful. I want my characters to be perfect and customized, every bit of them.

    That's my 2 cents anyway ^^

I make no secret that I'm female (nor did Caliente, when she was still around) and I've never had any issues from other people about it; not even considering the fact I'm co-author of the most popular female body mod on Skyrim Nexus. XD I also know of a number of mod makers and users who are female.
It could simply be that a lot of the ladies around simply didn't answer the survey. Many people just come for the mods, and may not pay attention to the news, so may not have seen it.

All the front page female mods are only annoying to me because they are not balanced by front page male mods. Fix that and it might help the situation.
CaiusN wrote: I agree with Taerie that for me, it's somewhat off-putting to have few to no male front page mods to balance the female ones. I don't mind the skimpy clothing per se, but without male stuff to match it certainly gives me the impression this is a bit of a boy's club. It's not like the system cheats for this either, guys and gals often prefer to play dress-up with female characters. This is more a concern for managing people's first, second, and third impressions so they stick around to share and develop their talents.

So, thinking productively: "hide adult mods" is pretty narrow, but having a '-skimpy' tag setting as the public default for front page views would be a good test to see if it pulls more repeat users. Better tag integration would allow me to search for armor with meshes for both genders, but without avoiding skimpy.

Well I guess I'd better start contributing the sort of things I like in any case. That's the beauty of mods.

Interesting... if you add up the percentages, you end up with 101% for Gender, and for Age, both. There must be some funky rounding going on there somewhere.

I think "dude" is sort of becoming a universal unisex term though, a kind of gender-non-specific pronoun. Either that, or linguistically, unknown and gender uncertain situations are all defaulting male now.

Well, considering majority of most popular titles featuring brutal males with weapons (guns or swords) killing as a main goal (like in 90% of video games) making dumb sexist jokes on the go, or female character as main protagonist in waaaay too skimpy looks attracting young horny males...

Fightning, racing, building or sports don't usually attract females, that's why SIMS is n1 on fem gaming list, which is sad, really...

    That's the gaming industry today.
    Saerileth wrote:

You know, that's actually part of the problem right there - public opinion telling me and other potential gaming women that we have no business enjoying any of these things. Maybe you should start blaming the media for brainwhashing parents into believing that girls need barbies while boys get trucks and squirt guns, instead of condemning gaming companies for making great, successful games. ;)
BlueWarlord wrote: The gender results were not a total surprise. I think females tend to be casual gamers, but casuals lean toward console, while serious gamers tend to lean toward PC. So i don't think this poll is representive of the actual female gaming community, just the nexus community.

  2. I too wish the people there at DAI tools good luck. I think all modders are saints to be spending their own free time making such great improvements for our loved games and then sharing them with the rest of us. I am greatly looking forward to seeing DAI nexus buzzing with great mods and improvements.

Thank you and goodluck to each and everyone of you.

  3. Oh m g that's very funny!!! I thought I was being tortured by bugs and glitches but you had it way worse than me!!

MARRIAGE IS SO GLITCHED AND UNSATISFYING IN THIS GAME!

My moan about marriage is my hubby doesnt call me wife whenver I accidently shoot him with lightening, he calls me 'sister'!! (Im just not into that kind of thing!) Oh and his shop doesnt work for me either. :( Oh and he keeps getting lost, I thought I was shot of him so I dusted off my amulet of mara and stuck it on and went home for some stuff and there he was sleeping on the floor of the basement!! Not the bed!!

My rl hubby thinks he feels guilty for leaving me alone in the wilderness and so to punish himself has decided to stay on the floor. No big loving welcome home. He has even stopped cooking for me. So now what good is he?

I am so going to leave this game until it has been fixed.

  4. I recently had my character marry Muiri so I could bring in some shop money and have a companion that wasn't quite as formal as Lydia as all the "My Thane" stuff wasn't working for me. After the ceremony I had her move into breezehome and she started a general store. I have the options of buying things from her shop, collecting profits, telling her to move to another home, or getting my home cooked meal. However I can not ask her to follow me. I do not have anyone else following, Lydia has been staying in my house for awhile now. Also is their any way to change her equipment-- I gave her some iron armor via console as she'd get butchered without some protection and she would not equip it, even after removing her default dress with console her dress simply respawns after re-loading the cell. I will be able to fix the clothing thing with the construction set when it comes out so that is only a matter of time, plus I am sure better companions will be released pending SCK. My main question is this: Is Muiri's inability to become a follower a glitch, do I have some unfullfilled conditions, or is this lack of an ability to follow an NPC specific thing (aka shopkeepers cannot follow)?

Well I have has similar problems with Vilkas. My character married him and they lived at his place(the companions base) first as I didnt have many houses then. I can take him fighting with me and he is a great help. He makes my dinner once and gives me money from his shop but I can't get any benefits from sleeping, well he wont stay on the bed when I point there and tell him to lie down. Is that cause Im a werewolf? Also I dont want to be a werewolf, can I change that?

    LOL

Also the shop part doesnt work for me, I can 'sell' him stuff but the money doesnt go to my account at all. It's as if I just gave him the stuff to look after. So bugged this game.

Also off topic as little but when I use potions I find it very annoying there is no icon on screen to tell me how long they will last for or what I have taken. Its really really annoying!

I hope they do a patch soon because I have lost count of big bugs and small bugs I have encountered.

  5. I agree with you Inacomadial999, my initial disappointment with the CC has receded somewhat since I made a Nord character, I wish I had spent a little more time experimenting with the other races, but I was so eager and excited and it was very late at night so time wasnt as available as I would have liked.

I do want to stress that I am unhappy with the CC but not the characters or NPC's in general. There definitely are a lot of nice and interesting looking characters out there.

I did use the showracemenu to change my race to Nord from Imperial and have played about 5 hours quite happily since I did that. What part of the game gets broken? I guess I better check out the video. Thanks for posting that video Dying Atheist. Its very helpful!

@Enthusiast! Beautiful lady you created, I like her a lot, love that mouth, I am using that one for my new Nord too now, best lips in the game I think.

@Pavy I have noticed a lot of peoples characters with eyeliner that is not excesive so maybe races other than imperial have the options to tone it down a lot! My advice for you now that I have spent a little more time in CC is try out all the races for options that you enjoy. I like having a lovely mouth and eyes so they matter the most to me. The Nord ladies options are better for lips (imo) than Imperial ladies I found. As for eyes I will have to say the two races seem the same.

I still think the CC options are very limited for such an amazing game. I am kind of wondering why if you make a small complaint loads of people want to assume you are a fluff head or something. Anyway trying to ignore the nasties in this thread and enjoy the sympathies and helpful advices!

PPS Just watched your video Dying Atheist, well presented and very easy to understand and the penny has now dropped. Thanks! :D

  6. http://i.imgur.com/bIWm4.jpg

I think my Nord looks pretty good!

Yes she sure does! Her lips are nice from the side too!

@Icomc I like your Nord too, I like that hairstyle I have to say!

@Pavy, I couldnt manage to make her eyes less dark, you cant make the eyeliner go away but there is a slider for 'eyeliner colour' However most of the colours appeared very dark to me. Kind of strange to me that eyeliner is a forced choice. Oh and the lip colours arent great imo either.

The sting and disappointment of the CC has worn off a bit now since I have been playing. It great to be back in a big rpg game again after such a long spell without many games!

Oh and Karandas your guy looks pretty good, no eyeliner for the blokes then! Lucky!!

  7. Well I do like some of the characters some of us have managed to create. I am uploading some screenies of my lady.

    http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/4783/serrene.png

I find that eyeliner very heavy handed!

Pavy- they did simplify quite a bit to my mind anyway, there are options that don’t appeal to me as someone mentioned before, like dirty skin, scars etc but not the other choices I mentioned in previous post.

Symphoni your Nords lips look nice at that angle, I wonder are there different options depending on race?

Oh and I am using the console way to adjust my characters look in game but my husband warned me that I wont get the steam achievements if I use the console commands to do that.

I don’t mind because I like changing my characters hairstyle every ten minutes, hehe.

  8. Oh my goodness I am glad Im not the only one disappointed with the CC. I found it really hard to make a decent looking lady.

I tried making an imperial woman, the eye choices were really looking like crazy eyes, I found about two that werent so bad. There is no way to adjust size of eyes. Whats with the dark eyeliner? I found it really hard to choose an eye colour too as the eyes are quite small and I had to squint to see what colour they were.

The mouth choices are pretty darned awful too and again no way to adjust size and shapes of lips to your own design. The design of the all of lips there just dont appeal to me at all. Looks like someone sucking on a lemon.

Yes and I agree with previous posters about the skin choices all looking aged. Also the hair colours and textures are very very poor. No way to change eyebrow colour either?

Wow in my opinion I think for a game with this amount of development time spent on it the CC should have been absolutely wonderful. Look at all the mods for hair and make-up and skin textures etc in Nexus, surely these developers know how important it is for immersion and enjoyment that players can create a character that they are happy with?

Well maybe they expect the modders to do their work for them? I know that DA 2 and Mass Effect 2 both dissappointed me with their CC's. So maybe I am overly fussy?

Anyway still looking forward to playing the game but one part of RPG games I love doing is creating my character and this is my first major disappointment for me with Skyrim. Will be looking forward to the work of the modding community with great anticipation now.
