Yes it is an overhaul and its still in the alpha stages. And I give them credits for committing to an overhaul rather than abandoning it completely. They do make awesome cinematics and is what I mainly wanted to share here. Don't need to trust anything, just wait for reviews to see how it turns out. =) Speculations on the reboot is premature at this stage. Edit: Happy Turkey Day!

Summary: The trailer portrays the end of a dark era with the descent of the world moon Dalamud, an event brought about by the Garlean Empire with unclear intentions. The Eorzean Alliance along with the heroes are battling at the site of the impact in an attempt to accomplish a grand ritual of summoning the 12 Divines to stop the meteor. Dalamud eventually reveals an imprisoned elder Primal Bahamut along with his wrath unleashed. The heroes were teleported to a rift of time and space by the noble Archon Louisoix in the last scenes to save hope for the future. This will set the stage for the game reboot when the heroes emerges from the rift to face what is left of the world after the cataclysmic event. More Spoilers and Details here. So this onboard GPU handles video decoding and lets my Radeon card display the output? How can I access this onboard GPU? Because I don't see it in device manager or bios setup. I have just reinstalled K-lite codec pack which includes MPC-HC, is CCCP similar or better? I am trying this AMD Overdrive with default option along with MPC-HC, madVR for now, still observing. Thanks for the input though, will try it if this fails.

No onboard GPU, no additional display adapter listed in device manager, no related options in bios setup. I have no idea if GPU not keeping up with CPU, if it can be an issue, any advise on that end?

Its a new pc with decent hardware, unless I got sold inferior hardware. I got an AMD Radeon card, no onboard GPU and decent Memory and specs. I read about similar experiences with Win7 users but not come across any working solutions.

Just wondering if this is bothering anyone else with a similar OS. No issue on my old pc but win 7 x64 kinda giving me random video stuttering, sometimes occuring when other applications are loading in the background. Using media player class for most of my video playback with latest codec and graphic drivers. Not keen on switching video players but checking if anyone avoided this issue by using some other players or if anyone found a solution.

Thank you all for voting and sharing. It is hopeful to see prudence in gamers despite the evils of commercialism. I respect the peeps that can forego a part of their entertainment to prove a point and I also see wisdom in compromising by waiting for discounted offers. This mini poll may not represent the entire community but it gives a good preview of what other gamers are thinking. I agree with Handofbane, EA can "survive" but from here on, it is up to them to rebuild consumer/shareholder confidence. Admitting their failure at this point will only make it harder for them to answer to shareholders, so they will continue to fake their "success" for as long as they can. This announcement of the limited period free DLC is an indication of how bad it is, yet they still wish to earn money whenever possible after this limited period, I can only pity those who support the ME series after this period. And the verdict on this DLC is still unknown. If it satisfies and quells the rage, great for everyone. If it doesn't, I can only imagine but I am sure at least a good amount of consumers will more critical than ever.

EA gets voted for "Worse Company in America 2012" on The Consumerist site. While this is debatable whether the award is deserving or unfair, the fact remains that consumer wrath towards EA is significant and increasing with recent release of associated game titles like the well loved franchises of Dragon Age and Mass Effect. EA has shrugged off the award by making a statement, with great humility and denial as usual. So I ask thee, sensible gamers of the Nexus Community. How will thou spend thy cash on future EA associated game titles? If the poll is not comprehensive enough, please share thy opinion in detail. And lets try to avoid the tempting but tiresome debate of defending EA unless you are able to present facts. Same experience. Its not as serious as you imagine and it is quite common, blood circulation is restricted, not cut off completely and your body responds by moving while you sleep which interrupts your rest. Seeing your doctor/specialist is the best advise so far but meanwhile you can consider using an inflatable air pillow (those used for travelling to support your neck), wear it over your arm to cushion the pressure.

I know right? Computer breakdown symptoms don't seem to make sense sometimes. They only plugged the suspicious PSU to another working pc and noted that the fans were powered up. Wanted them to check the power output but they refused to and insisted there is nothing wrong with it. lol I know the feeling. For my 5 year old pc, after I hauled my desktop to another repair shop. The technician cleaned the memory chips and started plug and playing with spare parts to isolate the faulty component. Eventually, a new motherboard works with the original memory chips, psu, hddisk, graphics card so he just claimed that I needed to change the motherboard, which leads to buying new compatible memory chips. No visible damage on the motherboard so no idea what specifically is wrong with it. I have yet to decide if I want to replace the parts or get a new desktop. I would hate to replace these parts with the other old parts failing soon after. Rather sloppy troubleshooting for a repair shop I must say, perhaps trying to save their own time to avoid troublesome repairs and just get the customers to buy new parts.

Need some advice! Pc just powered down by itself while I was browsing my files. It managed to load to the desktop after a reboot but powered down shortly after. I tried resetting the CMOS, checking the PSU connections but eventually it degenerates to unable to boot up with cpu fan spinning for few seconds and stopping. Suspected it was a PSU issue, I took the PSU to the pc shop and the technicians tested it briefly on another pc and claims there is nothing wrong with the PSU. Any ideas before I haul my desktop to the shop? Edit: Motherboard not working. Changing it means buying new compatible memory chips.

I don't think they were arrested for flaunting their wealth, at least not directly. But it drew attention to themselves amidst the huge army of pirates. A dramatic example made out of them was most likely a strategic move for deterence rather than spreading their resources thin (assuming they even have enough) in a neverending fight against piracy.

A couple of relevant points from the article - Aluminium foil and good plastic insulation for layers of encasement. - Materials and methods of encasements will affect the level of protection. - Important data should be stored on optical media which are unaffected by EMP. It is almost not practical to be able to protect your home devices unless given ample preemptive warnings. But I think storing important information on archival grade optical media is sound advice.
