  1. Don't know if this helps with your problem or not, but thought I wasn't accessing the console when I first started the game. In fact, it was there, but off-screen (lower left). If I entered a short command (like "unlock"), nothing would show when I entered it. But the last part of a longer command would show. Don't know if this is due to my resolution setting or not, but I've gotten used to it.
  2. Yeah, tried that and it didn't work. That same person [or at least the original poster of that solution] also said to retrieving a save twice. That didn't work either. BTW, I apologize for opening a new topic when the subject has already been covered in another thread. Will do a better job of searching existing topics next time.
  3. Good suggestion, but it didn't work for me. Think I'm going to have to stop playing this game until Bethesda comes up with a fix [to this and several other serious bugs]. It's just too frustrating trying to battle Deathclaws, scorpions, convicts, and programming bugs at the same time! Gosh, do you think they released this game just a little too soon?
  4. Have been playing FONV for several days and--despite numerous hang-ups--have managed to get to level 12. Starting this morning FONV has developed two new problems. I'm not able to save (using either method). The screen goes blank, then drops me out of the game. Same thing happens when I attempt to go through a closed door. Pisses me off because I killed off all the Deathclaws at the quarry north of Sloan TWICE. Very frustrating. Another frustration: The FONV Game Guide (from Prima) is very difficult to use because it doesn't have an index. The table of contents up front is fine for general topics, but, when you've come upon something in the Wasteland that you want to check out quickly, the book is worthless. Love the game, but the bugs and bad documentation are taking taking away from the fun.
  5. Fixed the problem by turning ZoneAlarm off before starting FNV.
  6. Just installed FO3 New Vegas and when I'm in the game my keyboard doesn't work. Seem to remember that this happened in FO3 as well, but I don't remember the fix. I'm running the game on XP Pro on an AMD machine.
  7. I'm a newbie here and the answer to my question is probably staring me right in the face. I can't figure out how to download Fallout 3 mod files. I can get to the file description, but WHERE is the button for downloading it? I even tried clicking on the file name, but that didn't work either.
