Requesting more hair colors. Mod
rdr99 replied to WittleBunnyWabbit's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Mod Ideas
Look in the modding forum about tools. There is a link posted there. For some reason I am unable to add it here. -
Well... I changed the backgrounds on the monitors to a static one but that didn't help. On the plus side I am now using a little program that does stuff to DAI (increases attributes of the characters) which I keep on the other screen so I am now less anxious to disable the wandering mouse because, you know... attributes are useful! So I guess I will just soldier on as it is. Thanks for the replies though. I may still look into "Mouse Without Borders" in the future so thanks again for mentioning that.

DA: Inquisition, cheats mod
rdr99 replied to doomsday0525's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
No... cheat engine only lets you modify a couple of bits so you can change health, weapon hit points and things like that. To add meshes and so forth you need a different kind of tool. Happily such a tool is being worked on with some success. I cannot, for some reason, add the link here though I see others can do so. Every time I try the box stays up and will not go down even when I try to cancel out, so I assume I am doing something wrong or do not have the permissions. I am hopeful that, since the persons writing said tools are familiar with Nexus, those tools will appear here when they are completed. -
[Ask] Is there a mod tool(s)?
rdr99 replied to edriano's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
Right now, the only tools I know of being worked on are for hair and body mods. The tools for weapons and other things will be harder to make they say, but will happen. There is some serious work being done at a place that starts with daitools then a dot then freeforums and another dot then an org. The topic of the forum is Dragon Age Inquisition Modding Tools and you might find it an interesting read. These people are serious, have done several other games in the past including Skyrim and provided second tier mods for DAO and DA2 (first tier being the actual tool makers who let you pull information from the game in a useable format and then add new stuff to the game when you modify it). They are in touch with the first tier people and really good progress is being made... it won't be long now! -
Is having no tool really such a big problem?
rdr99 replied to vavrinko's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
You do indeed need tools created for the particular game in order for the then "second tier" mod community to make mods that can actually be added to the game. Go here: (ok... it won't actually let me paste in a link so you can find the pages where they are working on tools). I'll just say that if you type "Dragon Age Inquisition Modding Tools" and you get a return with something starting with http and then daitools and then freeforums with a dot then an org you are probably in the ballpark. These people are no joke, have modded for Skyrim, DAO, DA2, and a lot of other games you have played or heard about, and in fact one or more of them is probably responsible for the hair and face mods you are familiar with. Take a look. -
Hi bben46... The only program I might have that might affect this is perhaps the driver for the Logitech G502 gaming mouse. I used Logitech mice and drivers on my last computer with no such "wandering cursor". When I played a game it would stay on the same screen. This is Win 8.1 however, and the last computer had Win 7, so I don't know if they changed something. I do have a background running that changes scenes occasionally though. I think I will try disabling that and see if that helps. It might be keeping the border open so the mouse can cross. Usually games will "darken" or turn off the screen on my second monitor, or at least did in the past. I will try a static background and see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestion about the mouse program. If all else fails I may try it, but I hate to introduce something else into the mix until I exhaust the other options. Hopefully "Mouse Without Borders" will not interfere with the Logitech drivers should I need to try it. I will report back if I make some progress today. Thanks again for the suggestions.

In games I have played in the past, the mouse cursor always stopped at the edge of the monitor I was playing on. Now, it seems to want to wander all over the place and when I click trying to select something on screen and the cursor is somehow on the other monitor (ok... I get excited when the AI is trying to kill my guy!) DAI goes into "page mode" instead of full screen and I have to click on the "playing screen" to reset it again. I don't know if this is just me as I built a new computer and maybe I missed something in the vid driver settings or something. I am running a couple of r9 290x's in crossfire with the 14.12 drivers, but had a similar setup on my last computer and it didn't allow the cursor to wander to another monitor when a game was being played. Anyone have any suggestions?

Since the people at EA did not seem to provide a "creation kit" with this new DAI, I would like to hear from any of you who may have had some success with weapon mods for this game (or armor, accessories, crafting materials et al). Frankly, from experience with other games here, I was hoping someone was working on a small program that would make it easy for an old guy like me to give my weapons any attributes possible so that I could experiment with different effects in the game. To me, the replay value is always in the mods since it makes it more interesting to try new things. Hopefully someone of you is working on something that you might be willing to share. In the meantime, anyone who is interested in the same things feel free to comment.

Rats! I just bought the game and was hoping that there was going to be a "creation kit" for it. A game not modded is a game with little replay value. Sigh..! Hopefully this will change and some smart people will figure out how to mod this thing. I look forward to some community mods for Dragon Age Inquisition. Until then, I will just weep silently.
