[Discerning the Transmundane Bug]

Ok, so I was trying to avoid this, but I can't quite seem to figure it out.

 

After returning the thing to Septimus, he tells you to go harvest blood. I looked up and saw Mora, and remembered what this quest was. I decided I didn't want to serve a daedric prince this playthrough (thank you to No Forced Quests); so right after getting the vial, I turned and killed Septimus. This instantly failed the quest and Mora vanished from the exit. I threw away the things he gave me and went on my righteous way.

 

However, the issue is that on the required quests, falmer, orcs, bosmer, etc, I now permanently have the option to harvest their blood. I don't have the thing Septimus gave me, and the quest is already failed. It's really only a minor inconvenience, but I would greatly appreciate it if someone has a fix, because I no longer have a savegame prior to killing him, therefore I cannot undo it.

[screenglare.dds help]

I was trying to avoid making a topic for this, but it's bothering me a bit now.

 

I've been trying to get a picture as the screenglare for a friend's pipboy.

 

I put the screenglare.dds into fallout new vegas\Data\textures\pipboy3000

 

But once in the game, the background hasn't changed at all.

 

I've tried converting with Gimp, as well as DDS Converter 2; yet neither have successfully given the picture as the screenglare...

 

Has something changed regarding the screenglare in NV? It was easy as anything in FO3...

Or am I just doing something wrong?

Screenshots are in the folder where your FalloutNV.exe is located...

 

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas

 

That's the location for me... Depending on where you installed, it may or may not be the same...

 

For WastelandAssassin, my screenshots with printscreen work through the game... No need to paste it into paint or whatever...

 

To your second question, I haven't bothered with the testinghall.

It's not a mod, but you could always simply use the console.....

Otherwise it's pretty difficult since a lot of their missions clash with each other, thus making you have to kill someone of the other faction, thus lowering thier rep...

[Retail/Steam copy does not allow saving when using Mods]

I bought the retail copy of the game today, and of course had to install steam with it.

 

After playing awhile I checked Nexus to see if anyone released anything. I downloaded the Carry Weight mod and a few others for i.e.

So then I loaded the game up after installing them and continued to play for about 2 more hours and turned it off.

When I come back I see the game apparently deleted all the saves I had mad since installing any mod. Naturally im pretty pissed at loosing hours of game time.

 

So I come to the Forums to see what needs to be done. Steam is offline. Archive invalidation is set at I've verified that its staying configured in the .ini file. However the game will not save.

I login create a new save and exit and reload and its gone. I'm about to take it back and demand an xbox copy but I really prefer it on PC.

 

If anyone knows a full list of steps to correct this that would be awesome I'm at my wits end on this one.

I know it's not an answer to your problem, but you'd definetly need to get with others with Steam and who have already modded.

 

Personally, I have steam, I do have mods (3), but there's no problem with my saves... (only problem I have is massive sound lag... >.>)

 

Check out Owners documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves

 

Make sure your saves are actually gone from there as well.

 

I also skimmed around Bethesda forums (Seeking a solution to my sound lag issue) and found this thread. It may be able to help you a bit more. But overall, you aren't the only one missing saves... And damn sure not the only one with issues...
