  1. Okay so there are a lot of various shape-shifting mods out there and they are pretty good. I was thinking that a lack of any kind of bird type form, a non-combat form or something, must mean that the process of creating something like that is a difficult one. IF it is even possible. Not being a mod creator myself I was wondering that, if it is possible, what would it take to make it happen? There are birds in the world after all. So there must be resources in the game that can be used...right?
  2. The similarities are fragments, and only in the most vague of senses. I can draw lines to other mythologies as well but only a few can be considered to have a Germanic inspiration. Lorkahn and Loki share a slightly similar name, there both “imprisoned” in the earth and they were both considered trickster gods. Alduin the World Eater and Jörmungandr the World Serpent share a similar title but the likeness ends there. There may be a few other things I have not connected to Germanic myth but overall the connections seem to be few.
  3. When Skyrim came out one the reasons I wanted to play it was for the sharing of creative ideas within the community via mods. When I first started playing I saw a few things that reminded me of another love of mine, Germanic mythology. There wasn't much but Bethesda was out to make a Viking epic. Some generous modders have created some decent ones based on some of the mythos ranging from popular to more obscure aspects. Some are small and others have been shoehorned into the game. But I am eager and hopeful for more fulfilling and creative mods. My problem is that while I have ideas I certainly do not have the time or the know how to accomplish my dreams in this case. That said I will be happy to share some ideas in the hopes that others more skilled than myself will benefit from making them. Perhaps a mod for the magic of Runes like a spell that grants a companion the Helm of Awe in the form of magic armor and health? Or maybe Thor’s hall Bilskirnir that rests upon a mountain top and from the main hall within the sounds of thunder can be heard? Or a quest to the Well of Urd where one finds the wisdom of ages? If there is any interest in this among some of dedicated in this topic I am eager to share ideas, feel free to contact me. If not then perhaps I will have to wait a little longer.
