  1. I would like a mod where you can do one or more of the following: Invest caps for return on investment. This would be best if based somewhat on the barter skill for returns (even though that doesn't always make sense) Specific traders and or vendors offer to sell shares in various new ventures, it should not be anywhere near Vegas, or something that cant be observed since that would make it way to complex. Lets say the traders sell shares in a new cattle ranch in southern California, or a water purification plant in the hub. selling the shares in Vegas would make sense since there is a lot of excess caps there. You buy say 10 shares out of 1 000, for 1000 caps per share, you now own 1% of that cattle ranch, and can go to some other npc who checks the amount of shares you have, then you can gather your earnings every week. Im thinking of getting a yield of between -10% to 15% per week, -10% would be loss of shares who the npc who checks your shares simply "confiscates" this is because share value is simply to much to get into (unless you can manage it) Fluctuating prices for raw materials and valuables: You buy and sell stuff like "raw iron", "water futures", "electric contracts", "bonds" and the like. This could be hard since there is very little research that can be done, but bonds is not a bad idea, you buy loan papers from casinos, shops, factions like the NCR (war bond), slave trade and so on. This should be strictly text, you cant go to Gamorah and yell "f*** you, I own your bonds a**hole, lets me in WITH my weapons or I dump your bonds and your casino gets bought up by the tops" . . . . or anything like that. Invest in shops: Almost the same as the good old oblivion. Different prices for items at different locations: That Chet buys bottled purified water for 12 caps when he can go 10 feet to the bar and get it himself is frankly dumb, same goes for Vegas (not Freeside or Westside though) Weapons should be allot more expensive in goodsprings since the trade routes has fallen apart, powder gangers should sell dynamite cheap and so on and so on. A bank terminal with intrest payment on deposit. I do not need some fancy npc, I dont need some crazy new dresses for the cashier, I just want a few terminals in sensible locations (like not having one in at the NCRCF, and having one in say Novac) A mod that adds a bank card to the player that can be used as a bank does exists, but I never found it very realistic, where does the caps go if there is no terminal? I realize that it is possible that not even one of these are even possible, but any reply on where I can find such a mod like this is appreciated. Ace
  2. To the original poster. The second question: I¨m guessing you want to make lets say a Bosmer with the racials of an orc? That is very possible, you can use Wrye Bash, it is a very extensive mod though, but you can import the face and body of another race if you are displeased with lets say the bosmer racials, but like the look of bosmers. I can with experience say that this works very well, and that I am currently playing a Bosmer mage, who has the racials of a Breton. The NPCs around you even say things like "what do you want treehugger". You are still a Bosmer in every way, but your racials are Breton. I'm saying it is possible, but installing and using Wrye bash requires reading. If you like an easy fix, I would suggest using cheats to add the racial abilities you like, and remove the ones you don't like, this however takes time also since you have to modify nearly every single skill and add and remove racial spells. There are likely mods that does this that doesn't require reading, and are in general simpler. but I'm not sure what they are.
  3. Yes, Enchanted economy give you an option when you put your files into your data folder if you want house prizes to be anything from half, up to x10 normal price I think, along with a property tax of a few percent. You dont pay property tax for imperial city shack, and mods that add various homes and estates. If you dont pay your taxes, the local guards will simply lock your house, and you cant use it unless you pay the backtax. The reason why you remove the gold from the player is because if you have to much gold, you have removed one motivation from the game. The game is much more fun when you cant afford everything. As an example, my char now has money making assets worth about 70 000, they produce about 3-7% return every week, so my weekly "income" is about 3-5000, which I again can use to pay taxes, repair equipment and so on. I want to be rich for my current level while it is still extremely hard to make money, so I don't want to level up to fast either. And having 70 000 producing assets along with 20 000 in the bank gaining interest, while I have about 500 gold in pocket change, is a lot better and imersive then "I have 90 000 gold".
  4. @majikmonkee At this moment, I have several mods that is sort of "removing" gold from my pockets. Mining company would take about 5500 x 9 = 49500 minimum (about 81000 because of low mercantile with enchanted economy) As far as I can tell, enchanted economy would remove just about half, so whatever you have and have spent and gained, cut it in half, maybe more depending on your mercantile. Oblivion XP with extra slow xp gain definitely slows down how much gold you have, but gets you more time to gather gold during that level. Cyrodiil banking mod give you about 1-2% more gold, but worth it. Real hunger takes away some in the start of the game, but doesnt really become an issue later. Imperial funiture takes away anything from 4-20k per house depending on how much time you want to spend playing The Sims in your houses. And lastly, a mod I haven't yet been able to try out much, is a mod where you buy and invest in your very own guild, the Order of the Nibenay. Looks like it could be fun, I don't know the total price tag, but it seems more like a investment mod then a quest mod (exactly like I wanted it to be), it seems to have the more or less normal 10% on invested gold per week or something, not including the work of finding people to run it for you I guess. An expected money removal of about 60-100k if you buy everything. So, I need a total of 81000+60000+80000 x 2 = just about under half a million gold to afford all this. PS. Enchanted economy can be configuration to change just about every money and money gain aspects of the game, everything from less loot, less magic loot, less rings and so on.
  5. I have played oblivion for a long time, I have tried many many mods, but I feel there is a mod that is missing, or I simply am unable to find it. What I'm looking for is a mod that: Gives me an option to invest my gold in something other then new weapons, a home, a horse or any such things, but to actually have a return on my investment. I'm currently running the new Enchanted economy, and I really like it, along with bank of cyrodiil, and "mining company", and I do like them very much. One of the mods I am most happy with is the Dunborrow cove official mod, I would like something like this, only more of it, things like owning a tavern, a inn, a farm, a winery, a weavers shop and so on (doesn't need to be specifically these), I don't want to run their day to day business, I just wish to own and get dividend yield from the stocks or a return from owning them. And be somewhat based on my mercantile, and be balanced, (better getting a little low, then a little high) I have no idea how to script or mod, but compared to the many rather advanced mods out there, this doesn't seem like the worst scripting job there is, mostly just dialog menus and some nice scenery. The businesses can be anything from street-sweeper firm to a law consultant business, but I do not require the NPCs to actually sweep the streets or actually go around suggesting new ways to interpret the laws Any reply or suggestions is welcomed.
