So, I'm a roleplayer. I don't continue to play fallout so that I can worry about my missing kid. That said, all over the wasteland there are great places to explore and things to find that are barred to the player unless you're in the main quest. I would love to be able to explore mass fusion or fort hagen in any playthrough without being in a quest. Such barriers are stupid anyways. Its entirely possible that Nora/Nate happen upon the fort and run into Kellogg. Sure, that isn't what bethesda designed, but its supposed to be a sandbox, not a linear story.

Mods that effect how the npcs interact with the PC
CheshireTrans replied to CheshireTrans's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Doing some research on my own, it seems Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul reduces the chances that they'll say anything to you... Including guards. I've downloaded it and I'm currently installing my whole list from scratch to prevent any conflicts with some changes I've made. I'll update if I feel like it does what I'm looking for. I've also downloaded The Choice is Yours, which stops the forced quests, giving you the option to outright refuse some, and stopping quests like hearing about the College or Civil War factions and being told to join in. Still looking for some of the other stuff, but I've spent hours on this and would like to get some actual gameplay in today.- 2 replies

So, late last night I decided I was tired of immersion breaking dialogue. I'm running heavy rp characters, with backstories and relationships, but I really can't get into it if every guard says "hands to yourself, sneak-thief every time I come close. Moreover, unless it makes sense for the guards to know me, I don't want them to. Being a member of the companions, or a thane, sure, it makes sense for the guards to know, but I don't want them commenting on me being a thief, college mage, or dark brotherhood assassin unless it's even remotely possible that they'd know. "You're one of them mages at the college?" How the f*** do you know whats going on in f***ing winterhold, Markarth Guard? "Is it true, you're with the dark brotherhood?" The dark what? You mean those assassins who cover their faces in a cowl and are completely unrecognisable, even to the select few penitus occulotus agents who know about me? Unless I've been caught and jailed, no guards outside riften should know i'm a thief, and even with the riften guard that assumes they're either on the payroll, or that I was and idiot and roughed up the townsfolk for brynjolf without covering my face. As for regular npc's, I think it would be best if the only spoke when spoken to, unless i've done a quest for them or something to give us a familiarity... though I'm mostly spitballing there. Mostly, I don't want the world to revolve around me. I don't want every guard to know that I am skilled in alchemy, I don't want random npcs to ask me if I've tried mercenary work (I love you amren, but you know I'm a companion right?) I read through Guard Dialogue Overhaul, it seems like I'd be able to shut them up about skills, but does it remove faction based quearies too? Can I set the skill options to something so arbitrarily high that my character can never reach them? Also, this is more of a request, but is there a mod that lets me play in skyrim as if the main quest has already been completed? edit: I forgot one more thing... Is there any way to make the random encounters with Assassin's, Dawnguard, or mercenaries sent to beat you down for stealing so that they are realistic? There can't be hundreds of expendable assassins, how do the dawnguard know, that orc in markarth can't possibly know I stole the steel from her shop, why does she?

Edit: Also, testing the theory, the animation for simply rearing, as it does when you jump while standing still, isn't as pronounced. It rears a little less, and the whinny is less intense. I'm actually pretty sure that its the horse's attack animation. And I might have figured out my problem... 75 4b Playable Monster Mod.esp might have caused it. I downloaded it for fun, but my game crashed pretty quick so I forgot about it...

So, I don't often use horses in skyrim, they're clunky and seeing as I'm normally a vampire with Better Vampires installed, they're slower than my own movement speed. That said, for my own immersions sake I was attempting to ride Arvak accross the country. When I came upon some enemies I attempted to initiate bow combat via horseback, and to my surprise, Arvak began to rear and I heard the bash sound effect, losing my shot. I've never had this happen before, and don't know what is causing it, I do not have any horse related animations installed, so far as I know. I am using Pretty Combat, and the Magic casting animations by the same author. As such I have FINIS installed, and I've chosen the XP32 Extended skeleton, I don't know that this is an animation glitch, but I'm not sure what else might have effected it. https://youtu.be/bI1TXbB8vZU Video Link to show what I'm talking about. If anyone has had the same issue and solved it, or can help me to solve it, it would be much appreciated. I'd rather not have to start from scratch. Edit: I FIXED IT!!! I had forgotten that I'd installed the playable monster mod, it didn't work smoothly so I just stopped using it, but didn't think about it. Essentially I was triggering the horse attack every time I attacked. Removed Playable monster mod and it runs smoothly. Thanks twistedfatal for your help, it was the straw that made things click.

A mod I've been wating for from the beginning. I know, beggers can't be choosers, but I think this might be something more people want. As it is the melee attacks are all over the top simplistic swipes and slashes. I'd love to see maybe a chained combo like we have in skyrim. I'm having difficulty describing this, but essentially all i'm looking for is a faster more realistic and skilled melee experience.

From the moment I first saw the power armor frame I've begun waiting for the modder who comes in and makes a lighter version, something more akin to Iron Man and War Machine than the Hulk Buster (though a hulk buster suit would be awesome too). I really can't wait for sleeker models of the power armor frame and all the amazing things that could come with it, Iron Man being the obvious choice, but Storm Trooper, Dark Trooper, and Clone Trooper armor would be cool too. I know you were looking for Avengers in general, but the possibilities are endless.

So, I've been looking around the nexus for a mod to do this and I can't find one that explicitly states that it does. The game designers, misguidedly in my opinion, made paint jobs and material mods in the same category. So, if you want to represent the brotherhood and wear combat armor you have to sacrifice protections offered by Polymer. If you want to have a hot rod paint job on your power armor you have to sacrifice a lead lining or any other protections to gain a slight charisma boost. This is retarded, the whole point of something like a faction paint job or even the hot rod paint is that it shows the personality or allegiance of your character, lending to the role playing experience. If your character is a BoS fanatic, he has to sacrifice protection to show his pride in the brotherhood. If your character hopes to inspire fear in the raiders of the commonwealth by proudly wearing the Minutemen symbol, he has to sacrifice his chances of survival. You could argue that allowing everyone to boost charisma and take some other boost would be overpowered, but no one says that a paint job needed to boost charisma. I propose a mod with two versions, a hardcore one, in which you can both paint and material mod your armors using different slots, but in which paint mods do not offer their charisma boosts, and a loose one in which all boosts are still applied. If possible it would be nice to see in the future that BoS paint only boosts BoS standing and minutemen paint only boosts standing with members of the commonwealth or the militia (though not the railroad) and a decrease in standing to opposing factions of each paint as well, maybe even inspiring violence or an intimidation roll. It will also be nice to see the extra slot be used by other modders when they create custom armor skins, allowing the community as a whole to create its own armor paint jobs and skins with their own benefits and pitfalls. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to make this happen.
