Skyrim Remaster Is True | Hide The Mods |
lasurarkinshade replied to deadblood01's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Bethesda have already confirmed that significant new security measures are coming to Bethesda.net to tackle mod piracy - most notably, all Bethesda.net accounts will need to be associated with a Steam account that owns Fallout 4. If that account is banned for mod piracy, your Steam account is entirely barred from Bethesda.net forever. That means mod pirates who want to repeatedly offend will need to continually re-buy Skyrim. I honestly think the console mod piracy thing is a mountain being made out of a molehill. Obviously it sucks and I have no sympathy whatsoever for console mod pirates - but the exact same thing was happening with the Steam Workshop back when that first released. It's just a teething trouble of the new platform, and it'll be ironed out over time.- 176 replies

Announcing Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil

Announcing Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil
lasurarkinshade replied to 1shoedpunk's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Cyrodiil as a whole will assume that you have completed 'that Dark Brotherhood mission' in setting up its content. We are still working on how to handle it if the player has not completed that Dark Brotherhood mission, since the last thing we want to do is pigeonhole people into playing the Dark Brotherhood questline. -
The Voice Actors of Skyrim (Nexus)
lasurarkinshade replied to Hotemochick1992's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Hello, I'm Lasur Arkinshade, the writing director on Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil, a province mod for Skyrim. We're due to release an initial first taste, Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, in Spring 2014, and we've just begun casting voice actors. If you are interested, please see and post in this thread. http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/5755-beyond-skyrim-cyrodiil-bruma-casting/ Thanks very much in advance, Lasur -

We're aiming for a middleground between both extremes. -
Announcing Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil
lasurarkinshade replied to 1shoedpunk's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The plan is that you'll be able to travel there on foot from Skyrim, yes. I believe it's to a similar scale to Cyrodiil in TES 4: Oblivion, yes. For art design, we're aiming for a nice middleground. We don't want too much of a departure from the Cyrodiil in Oblivion, but some of our landscaping is, for example, going to be a nod to the Unique Landscapes mod for Oblivion. We're not going to have everything be generic, but we don't want it to be a massive departure from Oblivion either. We've also recently been discussing making a few small changes to the architecture of certain cities to make them a bit more distinct from those in Oblivion. We'll share more when we've decided on that. -
Random CTDs (usually with menus and quicksave)
lasurarkinshade replied to mvplayer277's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
For what it's worth, I appear to be having a similar issue. I'm getting CTDs at random, seemingly almost always when I open a menu. This includes loot windows, my inventory, and, seemingly most frequently, the world map. -
The Voice Actors of Skyrim (Nexus)

Lasur Arkinshade/Linton Ineson: Actor Stats Gender: Male Race: White/Caucasian Active Member: Yes Playable Races: Male human races, Khajiit, Dark Elves, Altmer, potentially Orcs, though I'm kinda shaky there. You can see an example of these in my demo reel. Experience: Not very much, though I am on the Beyond Skyrim team and will potentially be doing voice work for it. I do aspire to be a professional voice actor, however. Then again, don't we all? Skills: Other than acting, I have a fairly solid grasp of game/mod development practices and workflow. I'm no professional sound engineer or anything like that, however. Voice Samples: https://soundcloud.com/lasurarkinshade/sets/tes-voice-acting-demo-reel Hopefully that demo reel is safisfactory. :) Contact: I am lasurarkinshade on Skype. You can reach me via email at [email protected] (long story, don't ask). I'm also fine with PMs through the Nexus forums as well. Hope at least some of you found my VA bearable, -Linton/Lasur Arkinshade -
Hey, So, the 1.9 patch for Skyrim introduced the infamous lip-sync bug, whereby certain, seemingly arbitrary NPC dialogue has a delay between the start of the voiceover and the lip syncing. This is highly immersion-breaking and frankly odd-looking. With recent developments like the MFG Console SKSE plugin that resurrects the MFG console command (removed in 1.9) and restores player blink (broken in 1.9), it appears there's some fresh hope that an SKSE plugin or .dll could potentially be able to fix this. If there are any enterprising SKSE modders hanging around here, I - and many others, I imagine - would highly appreciate your taking a gander to see if there's some way to fix it. Thanks,

WMX - WRP texture issues....
lasurarkinshade replied to EqualsNorr's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Would you mind sharing how you fixed for it for other people having this problem (such as myself)? :P Thanks in advance. -
Hey, So, my weapon hotkey menu seems to be broken. That is to say, it works, but the icons for the hotkeyed weapons do not show up. In their place is a strange icon that I have never seen in Fallout New Vegas before and cannot understand, presumably some sort of 'missing texture' icon. Screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/towJUOF.png Anyway, I've tried my best to fix this but to no avail. First I uninstalled all the UI mods I'm using, which didn't help. Secondly I uninstalled those mods, deleted all menu files and let Steam validate my installation, again to no avail. I'm at my wit's end. My UI-impacting mods are: DarNified UI, The Weapon Mod Menu, Mod Configuration Menu, Project Nevada, Immersive HUD, OneHUD. I am also using Yukichagi Unofficial Patch as well as NVEC Bugfix. These are the only mods I can think of which could impact this, but below is my full load order in case you want to take a closer look: Thanks in advance for any help. It's not a game-breaking issue, but it certainly is irritating when it comes to remembering and hotkeying my weapons.

Help Interpreting my Papyrus Log
lasurarkinshade replied to lasurarkinshade's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It appears I've managed to fix the problem myself, and I still can't find a way to upload my Papyrus log... so I guess this thread is defunct. It always was defunct, the second I realised my original error-ridden Papyrus log was too massive to be posted anywhere. If a moderator sees this... this thread should probably be deleted. It serves no purpose to anyone anymore except cluttering the forums. I don't want to clutter the forums. :P -
Hey, I'm a short while into my new Skyrim playthrough and today I decided to enable Papyrus logging for 15 minutes or so as a test of my game's health. Unfortunately, the results were somewhat concerning. The Papyrus log is extremely long and cluttered for such a short period of time. Here is the log (and sorry for the wall of text, I don't believe I can set up a collapsable 'spoiler' on the Nexus forums): (My post gets too long with the log included, it's too large for Pastebin or my OP, and Nexus won't allow me to attach it to the post. Disregard this post until I find an alternate way to share the log). The errors that begin with "de" appear to be related to Frostfall. Obviously some of the errors are within Frostfall's compatibilty check warning, but many others are not. I can't even begin to make sense of these logs, so I come to you for help. Any ideas? A few notes: I haven't had any crashes through this playthrough yet, including during this test. The only mod I have uninstalled since starting this playthrough are some of the SkyRe compatibilty patches, but I don't believe any of those compatibility patches had scripts attached to them.I will provide my load order if requested, but I'm acutely aware that this OP is starting to get excessively long already, and I'd rather not make it any longer. Thanks greatly for any help.

High Elves suddenly have moustaches
lasurarkinshade replied to lasurarkinshade's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Yeah, I was just concerned that it might show there are issues with my install that may cause more serious problems. This issue itself isn't what I was really afraid of. -
So, I've fairly heavily modded my Skyrim and created a new character to test it out. Everything seemed to be going fine until I got to character creation, where I discovered that something appears to be very wrong with the High Elf default appearance (and by extension their first 'facial hair' option)... ...it's a moustache. A very strange, furry, moustache that's completely out of place on High Elves. This is not what the vanilla High Elf preset looks like. Upon further inspection it appears that all races (that can have facial hair) have this moustache as their first facial hair option, but what I don't understand is why this is happening, whether this is intended, and why it would have become the High Elf default appearance. I've been looking through my mods and everything else and I'm just completely stumped. I can't figure out what would cause this to happen and I'd appreciate any help. :) My load order: Thanks for any help :)
