  1. yeah this happens to my game probably 5 times per play session, just disappears and Im on my desktop without skipping a beat. Im with jimmy, I just put it down to "this is a bethesda game", thats about as good an explanation as you can expect as to why it happens and why it will doubtless never be fixed. You can be pretty sure no one at bethesda is even attempting to figure it out, theyll just have filled it under "yep, that happens" and moved on. You have to mod ur game, its worse without mods than with them. At least with mods u can do things like save in survival mode, which allows you to keep playing thanks to only losing maybe 2-5 mins of time each time something like this happens, rather than losing an hour and then your sanity, followed by uninstalling.
  2. yeah they just updated the game, 05 dec, and it broke F4SE. No idea when a new version will be out, but that method for rolling back the update worked for me, and Im happy just running the same version I was using yesterday for the next few days or however long it takes for a new version of F4SE to come out before I download the new patch again. If you want to just get back up and running Id suggest just rolling it back too so you can play until F4SE gets an update.
  3. if ur trying to download a previous version of the fallout4.exe in the manner the original post is describing its in the manifest section on the website they linked, heres the exact link for the versions... https://steamdb.info/depot/377162/manifests/ if you are just trying to fix this latest patched they released today, roll back to the exe we were using that worked yesterday, then basically open the steam console the way they describe in the first post on page one and type this into the console... download_depot 377160 377162 883559999634905832 it will download the october 3rd fallout4.exe, which is the previous one to the december 5th that just came out, make sure u check where it downloaded to before u close the console, itll give u a file address on ur pc where its downloaded it to.
  4. ok I just posted this in another thread, gonna copy/pasta it here because on my travels trying to fix my game i came into this thread too and if someone else makes it in here on the same journey and it helps them then thats probably a good thing. This is basically a way to roll back the latest fallout4 update so we can play the game again the way we were yesterday until a new version of F4SE comes out to let us work with the latest update. copy/pasta .......................................................... hey, just had this same problem and managed to fix it without a new version of F4SE. found this post.... https://forums.nexus...-version-steam/ seems long and ripe with potential to just tilt you having to jump through so many hoops, but it was actually quite easy when I just sat down and did it. The exact text will change with each new update, but the cut to the chase of it for this latest update on December the 5th is to open the steam console the way they tell you, type this into the console... download_depot 377160 377162 883559999634905832 and hit enter, it will download the fallout4.exe from the previous patch we were running yesterday and tell u where it downloaded it, you then just copy it and paste it over your existing fallout4.exe and that essentially rolls you back for this latest update. I just tried it, worked fine, im back up and running now and all my mods work. ..........................................................

  6. Hi, i recently reinstalled Fallout 4, threw in a bunch of mods and got going, one of which was a skin for the vault suit, found here... https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2925 its just a texture mod, you change the line in the .ini and then throw the texture/folders in ur data file and it just works. All good, texture showed up in game, was working fine. Today I noticed the official high res texture dlc pack, so I installed it, looks good, but for some reason my vault suit has gone back to the horrible blue version? It seems like the high res ba2s are overwriting the textures in the open texture folder in my data folder? Is that possible? Is there any other possible reason my custom texture is now not showing? The texture is still there in the folders in my data folder, is there any way to make the game load those lose folders AFTER the high res .ba2 files? If Im not being clear as to whats going on let me know and ill try and explain again. Thanks :)
