Killed By Letho In First Confrontation
Sarogath replied to Adipose's topic in The Witcher's The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
ello... yea letho can be a meanie. are you playing on insane? since you said the game ends once he kills you. i play a modded TW2 and bossfights get even harder that way still letho required lots of my arsenal that i had at my disposal at that time. also: dont try to fight him with swords if you dont have too many skillspoints in the swordsman-ability-tree. i feel your rage, i have to reload letho's fight on every playthrough but the satisfaction once i ploughed that s.o.b. is even greater. also considering your other thread about cutscenes before boss-fights not all of them have those. also when not playing on insane save-games are usually made just before the fight starts (which is not too much better since it sucks taking a hit from letho when you are still halfway in loading screen). Have a good one Saro -
ello... Not being able to pick-up glowing items might be connected to still in a fight. Other than that i usually dont come across loot i havent picked up in the 1st place apart from when it was located in a crate/chest. So my guess would be that you cannot loot corpses once you left the mapcell the caves you mentioned (i assume they are the caves in act 1) do have their own mapcell so if you leave there all corpses would disappear actually. Not to spoil anything since i really wanted the kayran trap to be worth it but honestly it isnt. You can go through the trouble of obtaining it though I feel trying to actually make use of the kayran trap has killed me more frequently then just using the witcher's "innate" skills... Have a good one Saro edit: gawd old thread my bad...didnt mean to necrotize...

Dar'ji'ra, Road to Mournhold, a couple of miles north of Tear, South-East Morrowind "... and I'm hungry!" Ra'Jirr whined as he had been fussing about the whole time since they passed Tear's outer city walls. They had been walking the whole night through to establish distance to that unsavoury place Ji'ra had saved her current party from. Ra'Jirr continued... " Did it ever come to your mind that not everyone is used to that sort of walking, eh? " he asked in complaining tone that seemed innate to his voice. As he received no immediate answer he grew even more edgy. " Oi! I'm talking here. Don't you have any regard for your fellow travelers?" Dar'ji'ra, who was walking in front of her group as to keep the deception of her being a slave-trader, stopped and turned to Ra'Jirr... Dar'ji'ra: " Renrij'jeko-ja'khajiit! " she answered in a outright hostile voice, cussing him out in a quite unfriendly Ta'agra. Ra'Jirr had not spoken in their mother-tongue for a long time but understood well what he was just called. She didn't actually mean to harass Ra'jirr but his character reminded her of that Bosmer whom she had meet in Rimmen. Talkative bunch. Still, during their nightly walk the idle chatter about Morrowind had thought Ji'ra a bit about the local landscape and where she would be headed next. The city of light and magic. Sounds just like the place for me. She needed to lose her companions though. A Khajiit leading and selling a party of presumed slaves is a rather uncommon sight around Mournhold. Unfortunately her party didn't disperse as quickly as she had hoped and *those* characters seemed to be rather clingy... Ra'Jirr: " Listen! I don't want to cause you any trouble ..." Dar'ji'ra: " You are... " Ra'Jirr: " Well but you freed me and the others and now... " Dar'ji'ra " And now - I will not be Mara the Mother Cat for you. So ..VA-KHAJ! " The other freed slaves of whom two were Khajiit too, noticed Ji'ra's increased hostility. They had seen how Da'ji'ra had snarled as she shouted at Ra'Jirr. Not too long after their short arguement, they came to pass a fork in the road. The wodden signpost placed right in the middle of the fork pointed out two directions. One read 'Mournhold' the other 'Narsis'. Dar'ji'ra turned around only to see that just Ra'Jirr stood by the sign. The rest of her party had silently moved on the path to Narsis. Ra'Jirr called out after them " Oi! We are not going that way! ". One of the previous unlucky fellows peeped over his shoulder and allayingly replied: " Var var var..." Ji'ra had not stopped during the conversation hoping Ra'Jirr would choose to join the others on their way to Narsis. Or wherever. Much to her displeasure Ra'Jirr did not do so. He picked up pace to close the gap between the two of them. Being a bit out of breath he spoke to Ji'ra again... Ra'Jirr: " Well it's only us now... " he put on a smile. Acting as all the preceiding fret had not happened. " ... and it's still quite some way to Mournhold, eh?" he added in a ridiculously cheering intonation. Indeed, it still was quite a ways to Mournhold and the prospect of sharing 'quality time' with Ra'Jirr irritated her. Stuck with a foot-lame ja'khajiit. One Khajiit will raise some attention, two will undoubtly get into trouble. Oh joy... -

Dar'ji'ra, The city of Tear [Dres], Docks {Nightfall}, South-East Morrowind It had been a lengthy journey. Months had passed traversing the high sea around Blackmarsh's southern coast for Dar'ji'ra to finally arrive in Morrowind. A long and terrifying experience. She had heard about daring ones who had used vessels to venture over large stretches of water but being in the daring role she didn't feel as comfortable. The ship she had boarded carried 'no regular passengers'. In fact, judging from the heavy chains around their necks, feet & hands it was more than obvious for what reasons those people were going to Morrowind. Slaves. She would have liked to free at least those who were of her own kin but circumstances didn't allow for her to take decisive action. So she spent a good portion of her time aboard the vessel in the shadows... lurking, stealing of the slaver-guards rations since the slaves' rations consisted of fishbones and other food leftovers that looked like as even a mudcrab wouldn't dare to eat them. - Malnourished and therefore short on temper Dar'ji'ra had grown unobservant throughout her journey and was stumbled over once by an unusually ugly orc who immediately took her for an escaped slave and started yelling... Orc: "HEY, YOU! STOP! NO SLAVES OUTSIDE YOUR PENS!", he shouted, spitting drool into Dar'ji'ra's general direction. Green ones. They smell worse than they look which is already dreadful. ,she thought to herself as she took a crouching position. The orc drew closer in a menacing speed and posture. He spoke again: "I TOLD YOU TO -...", his sentence came to an aprubt stop. Dar'ji'ra had jumped him throwing him on his back, grabbing his throat with both her hands. Then she kneeled on his chest and steadily increased her hand's force to keep the orc silenced. She could feel him raging and saw the uncontrolled berserk madness come up in those dark orc-eyes. A few short struggling moments later he orc fainted only for his unconscious body to be committed to the unforgiving and harsh sea. - No... she had not liked her trip at all. I'm going to do something awfully cruel to that Alfiq if I ever see him again. The slaves were "unboarding" but it seemed they were considered rather goods than people. Dar'ji'ra was hanging from the side of the ship overwatching the operation and counting people that left the ship's innerts. Many of the slaves in a terrible state, her brethren Khajiti were missing ears & large patches of fur and even the Argonians looked raw & parched. 67, 68, 6... The stream of people from the ship ceased. Dar'ji'ra wondered Still a few missing... I can't imagine they'd want to stay any longer on that rotten...She had no time elaborate that thought. Shortly after the last person *worth money* had left the ship the crew started cleaning out as it seemed. Among regular filth Dar'ji'ra thought she had seen body parts or whole bodies that is. Everything mindlessly thrown into the harbour bay. She never had been a spiritual or religious Khajit but this seemed more than desecrating. Even the lizard-folk deserve better. It slowly dawned on her why this city is called Tear among her kin. She waited another endless hour, the remains of other people floating beneath on the water's surface. As it finally looked like the ship was completely deserted, the crew was hanging about in the next tavern, Dar'ji'ra jumped from her clinging position onto the brick-built pier. It sure felt like ages for her since her feet had felt solid ground. She had thought it to be a pleasant experience but the ground was cold and hard. The whole harbour-area of Tear was well-built and heavily fortified. Grey carved rock formed most of the walls that stood about sixty feet tall and started already outside the city, halfway engulfing the harbour itself. No harbour-warehouse? That's odd. The whole place looks rather like a prison than a merchants' place... And a prison of sorts it was indeed. The city's whole economy was based on slave-trade and even though some rebel-factions in Morrowind had been succesfully sabotaging single facilities, releasing quite a number of slaves into freedom, commerce for slave-traders was still booming. Especially behind the fortified walls inside the city numerous overcrowded pens stood side by side. Still Dar'ji'ra had seen none of this but could well smell the stress and fear that lay heavy with the salty sea air. Her appearance would surely leave an impression on the local folk and she could very well imagine their first reactions when asked for a place to stay. Can't get too much better. Grounded on foreign soil. "Make contact with one of our brethren, he or she will introduce you to the local habits." And what would those be? Sitting tight locked up in cage? Not quite an option for her vivacious nature. As she overlooked the harbour-area again her view fell on a number of smaller slave-cages each one dwelling with a person. Much to Dar'ji'ra's delight the cages in which the slaves were held were only sloppily guarded by a half-asleep Dunmer. That looks rather promising. She scampered over without much complication to see that fortune was on her good side again since there were some other Khajiit in chains who looked up as Dar'ji'ra approached. One of the *to-be-sold* Khajit slaves leaned through his cage's bars and started whisperingly yelling ... " Psst! SHHHH! Oi! YOU! You are not from around here. I can smell you! And you smell like home... My name's Ra'Jirr. C'mon, come over!" Dar'ji'ra moved over and stood next to Ra'jirr's dwelling place. Ra'Jirr: " You are not in chains!? Free me brother! I'll make it up to you. " Dar'ji'ra: " Are there any more of our brothers and sisters in there with you? " He paused for a moment looking over his shoulder. It felt strange to him that a Khajit of Dar'ji'ra's size would go unnoticed around Tear. It just wouldn't fit his mind. By the time he could answer some more slaves had stood to their feet and there was quite the commotion on the way. Ra'Jirr: " We are plenty. As you can see. " Dar'ji'ra: " Indeed, I can. " A new plan had sprung into Dar'ji'ra's mind. If the local habit seems to be selling people as slaves. I will just oblige the Mane's orders. She would simply go ahead and requisition some of the slaves for her own use. And since there were that many imprisoned already outside here at the harbour, she guessed nobody'd miss a few stragglers that went missing during the night. The Dunmer guardsman had noticed none of the conversation and was still merrily sleeping leaned against his lance. And neither did he realize how Dar'ji'ra picked the key from his belt. The slaves, nervous from the prospect of freedom, grew unruly. Dar'ji'ra needed to hurry after she had opened a few cages and convinced a bunch of about five people to play along as her decoy... Ra'Jirr: " And what about the other cages? " Dar'ji'ra: " We can't take them all. Neither guards nor the slaves. " Ra'Jirr: " You give me that key. " She did as she was asked and passed Ra'Jirr the key. He then looked around moved a few cages further, reached inside one of the cages and passed the key to an Argonian, much to Dar'ji'ra's displeasure as she neither liked nor trusted people that had scales for skin. Dar'ji'ra: " Why give the key especially to that ... guy?! ", she asked in a reproachful manner. Ra'Jirr: " He will know what to do with it, always mumbling something of a lamp and some ..twins.., I think. Although passed out most of the time, when he was clear and awake he made quite some sense to me. " Dar'ji'ra mentally shook her head. An Argonian who knows what he is doing? Lamp and some twins? Another case of skooma-delirium if you ask me. She urged her party to hurry. There was no need for them to stay for any longer. She didn't fancy to prolong her role as a slave-trader for any longer than necessary. Already she felt irksome & stained from her voyage. The last thing she needed to put up with was more mental filth of her own or of that of whom she just freed. Their paths wouldn't share direction for too long... -

North-Eastern Border of Elsweyr, Outskirts of the City Rimmen, Sardor's Tavern As Dar'ji'ra woke up it was a bright and shiny day. Looking out of her window she judged from the sun's height it was past midday already. The cabin she had rented looked and smelled no more appealing than the tavern's lobby. She didn't care for that yesterday but now it was getting awfully obvious: Filth adds up. Her appearance did get worse over the night tossing herself around her own squalor and the tavern's seemingly innate odour. Dar'ji'ra suppressed a feeling of nausea. Her tail moved to cover her face and especially nose as she leaned out the window. The street outside was busy with people. A market seemed to be on the way. Many Kahjiiti but to Dar'ji'ra's surprise many people were of non-Khajiiti origin, too. I wonder whether they all are day-workers in the fields, she tought to herself. Whilst she was looking over the crowd one particular individual appeared to be strangely 'out-of-place', yet still familiar. Straight across Dar'ji'ra's window sat a pitch-black housecat. It looked at Dar'ji'ra as it turned its' head in an angle and then smiled. Not your ordinary house-cat, Dar'ji'raa thought. The house-cat then got on all fours, looked down the street and dived onto the ground, disappearing in the crowd immediately. Dar'ji'ra was buffled. Still exhausted from two days of travel she considered it a misinterpretation and decided to see what kind of aliments Sardor had in store. She grabbed an unassuming robe to cover he stenched self and to disguise her grizzly armor then she went downstairs. Sardor wasn't to be seen anywhere. On the other hand yesterday's 'customers' were still around. Dar'ji'ra walked up to the barcounter stepping over a faded person. As she stood in front of the counter Sardor popped up behind it. Sardor: "Welcome! Welcome to my humble abode!" Dar'ji'ra: "You welcomed me yesterday already." Sardor: "I did? Of course I did! I mean it's always nice to have steady customers." Dar'ji'ra looked over the lot of people literally hanging about. "I can see that." she said being a bit irritated she hadn't made more of an impression in their last encounter. Dar'ji'ra: "Does your establishment serve meals, too?" she quickly keept talking to prevent Sardor's forseable and aimless torrent of words. Sardor: "Of course! Of course we do! What would you like? Our roasted mud-crab is very much anticipated..." Dar'ji'ra: "Do you serve anything that has no shell?" Sardor hesitated, looking down in an evasive way, "Well, if you put it that way..." Dar'ji'ra: "Do you serve anything else besides mud-crab at all?" Sardor answered with a cheerful "I can positively say we have no non-mud-crab-foods here!". Dar'ji'ra already thought something of the like. The hunger had a quite temper shortening effect on her. She grabbed Sardor by his collar and pulled him halfway over the counter, "I paid plenty for one night of rest and a meal...", she extended her index-finger-claw and pointed between his eyes: "...I would be nicer when I had proper nourishment and a place to bathe myself." His eyes were wide open. He had felt how easily Dar'ji'ra lifted him up behind his beloved 'counter-fortress'. He broke into sweat & stuttered "I... can of course but...". Dar'ji'ra growled. A sound that could rather be felt than heard. Sardor did well feel it as she pulled his face closer towards hers, "You know Khajiiti are carnivores, don't you?" Sardor went pale and faded. She let go of his collar and he unconsciously dropped on the barcounter. Scram! Dar'ji'ra thought. That was a quite unfortunate outcome of conversation, she needed worthier adversaries who'd not cower in fear as soon as she began to slightly threaten their lives. "Well done! He'll remember that his entire life. *HeHe*" a voice spoke to Dar'ji'ra from behind her. She turned around only to find the tavern's door had opened. "Down here! You too big version of a furball!" Dar'ji'ra looked onto the doorstep and saw that same black house-cat she had seen out her window earlier. "You are not very polite. I think I'd remember a somebody like you." the house-cat added. By now she had realized it was no mere house-cat she was talking to but an 'Alfiq', a small but magically very talented breed of Khajiiti. There was no grain of dust to be found on the Alfiq and it seemed to have a bubble shaped dome of clear air around it. "I cannot recall of having asked your opinion." Dar'ji'ra answered. "You didn't but I don't much care." the Alfiq ranted into Dar'ji'ra's direction. So much for politeness. "May I ask your name?" Dar'ji'ra asked in an agitated voice. "You may not and please spare me any pleasantries you intend to send my way." The Alfiq slowly moved towards her. Hardly in a menacing way since the Alfiq reached only her kneecap. "...but you may ask why I am in this place." the Alfiq continued. "Well then, why are you in this place?" she asked following the outlined question. Dar'ji'ra recognized the insolent social conduct of a mage like only their kind displays it. Arrogance is always their downfall. "I am here because I was sent to deliver a message. A rather tedious task so I'd be very grateful if we can get this over with." You could have written me a note instead of pestering me with that annoying presence of yours Dar'ji'ra commented in her head. "When you received your briefing, you were told that a messenger'd meet you at a certain timeframe. Believe it or not I'm that messenger." The Alfiq stood before Dar'ji'ra and looked up. "It's neither the timeframe to report nor is this the place I was sent. You are rigorous but too early." she replied. "Var var var!" the Alfiq ranted. "Orders change, as do times and a variety of other things... " by the time Dar'ji'ra had guessed the Alfiq to be a male and he continued, "...such as The Mane's mood or interest." Dar'ji'ra looked at the miniature mage. Well the description fits The Mane she thought. "So my current orders are..." "Hereby invalid!" He passed Dar'ji'ra a scroll out of nowhere it seemed "You are to follow those new instructions now." "And for just how long are these new instructions going to be valid?" she wanted to know. "I don't know. As you have surely guessed I'm a mage not a clairvoyant!" he turned around lifting his tail gazing back over his shoulder "I think we are done here and don't you linger around. You are in Rimmen one day and have already found one of the worst places to be...*tsk*" The Alfiq trodded out of door. Dar'ji'ra felt like she was made a fool. Time seemed to stand still when the Alfiq was talking to her. Creepy mage-bunch. I don't like them & never will. she proclaimed for herself. She looked at the sealed scroll she was given. It did not have a scratch. After all the way it must have come it still looked genuinely recent. Hmm, smells like The Mane, too. She broke the seal and read... "The orders you received when you left Torval are forfeit. Your mission has changed in location and urgency of matter. It was decided Cyrodiil has become less important and focus must be set on outreaching regions. You are therefore required to move to Tear in Morrowind (or Dres as the local folk now call it) and forego as it was outlined in your first assignment: Make contact with one of our brethren, he or she will introduce you to the local habits. A chance of transport per ship can be seized in the city of Bravil bordering north-east Elsweyr. The vessel will sail out on a full Secunda and does not carry regular passengers." Dar'ji'ra had heard stories about Morrowind but nothing more. Never had she meet anyone who had been there. Not a reason to not go there. she thought in juvenile boastfulness. Rimmen had only been the beginning of her journey, so it seemed. Bravil was a days travel away. Dar'ji'ra would leave during the night, her favourite. -

Central Elsweyr, North-East of the City Corinthe, Corinthe Marshlands/Savannah It's not been long since Dar'ji'ra finalized her training and was sent out to the borderregions of Elsweyr. Her task was clearly lined out: "You are to travel to Rimmen once arrived there, make your way to the 'Cyrodiil Region' unnoticed and establish contact with one of our many cousins. He or she will be cooperative in making you accustomed to the local habits. Every full moon of Masser and new moon of Secunda a messenger will pick up your report & observations and/or deliver new orders." "... deliver new orders." Dar'ji'ra thought. That'd be something new. In all the years of training she had never heard of a "Jo'Dar" that ever received new orders or returned to Elsweyr for that matter. "They all gave up their life for the great clan mother and the well-being of all Khajiit & The Mane", at least that's what they say. Dar'ji'ra wasn't sure at all. Anything she heard about the area outside of Elsweyr only bewildered her. Mages, Orcs & Argonians are not the nicest bunch. The dense jungle around Torval and Tenmar Forrest had been her home and proving grounds since she was taken from her clan. She wasn't afraid but rather curious about Cyrodiil. "Don't worry!", they used to tell her. "If you make it here any other place will be like Skooma in a pipe..." and Skooma in a pipe she did and knew all too well. She'd give quite something for some nice Skooma right now. Hmm, sweet bliss. The amount of moonsugar she had with her would suffice to serve as payment in the first few days and other than that it might open a few closed doors. Dar'ji'ra didn't worry. It's not like I will stop being a Khajiit, she thought. If there's a thing she liked she'd surely take it that's why she was sent to Cyrodiil in the first place. She remembered The Mane shortly before she was sent off: "The Jo'Dar are the Kings among thieves. They will take your eyesight and you'll be too blind to see it. They will pull the words of a mage's tongue when he is muttering his magic. And they will put an end to all those whose ears are sweet from sugar..." Back then it sounded very promising the adventure, the people but The Mane had managed to not tell her that after she had finished her training she would have to walk to Cyrodiil, for 'secrecy reasons'. "Gzalzi vaberzarita maaszi" an inner voice echoed in her head, calming herself aswell as pushing away any thought that distracted her from the inhospitable environment. "Muddy, misty, marsh-woods!" she yelled out, as she stepped into a quite deep puddle of water. A nice fare-well gift of the Corinthe marshlands so it seemed. As Dar'ji'ra looked up from her soaking wet leg the large hot dry-flats of the North opened up in front of her. Rimmen was still a long way ... North-Eastern Border of Elsweyr, Outskirts of the City Rimmen, Dusk After two days and nights of neverending dry-flats & sandstorms Dar'ji'ra set eye upon the silhouette of Rimmen's Tonenaka. It stood out as a quite much darker tower-shaped building contrasting the bright dome-shaped lot of the buildings that made up the rest of the city. It is believed the Akaviri once set the foundingstone for this now prospering community. As she neared Rimmen Dar'ji'ra had come along many plantations. They all looked like those which she knew from the outskirts of Torval. Dar'ji'ra knew all too well what kind of crop they grew. Sugar. She wasn't antipathetic towards Skooma but the ill-effects it could have on non-Khajiiti had made her think twice and she now continued her own Skooma-habit only on an 'irregular' basis. On the other hand the trade with moonsugar yielded a quite profitable sum of septims which could clearly be seen on a city like Senchal to the south or Rimmen which lay before her. The bright white buildings were set alight by the fading daylight and were therefore paint-dipped in a pink-ish purple. Dar'ji'ra liked the scenery and decided to finally rest and stay for at least until the next moon arose. Even though she was quite still a way from the inner-city the outskirts' dwellings were all built of bleached-white freestones with some structures in a multistorey layout. She stopped at the next tavern that didn't have "rawlith khaj" in its' name. I've seen more sand, dust and dry ground than I would have cared to in my whole existence. Remembering her way through the northern deserts of Elsweyr, she would not stand for anything she'll do if there was a smirkly grinning Suthay-Raht asking whether her trip was 'hot and gleeful'... It was, is and will be, she thought. In fact, she travelled for so long not minding her outer appearance, she didn't notice that through all the sandstorms and floating dust her fur had picked up a sand-colored tan only broken by a few fairly visible lines that resembled her original dark pelt. Looking up and down her dust-covered-self she shivered in disgust. *Roar* "Filth! Icky!" she mumbled as the tavern's door opened with a screeching sound. As outside, the air was thick, heavy and hard to breath. The stench of Skooma and evaporations was so immersive Dar'ji'ra thought she could see the smell. A few customers were scattered around the room sitting on large piles of pillows using small stools for tables. Nobody seemed to take notice of Dar'ji'ra's arrival. Nobody, except for the bartender, a small but ruggedly handsome Bosmer... "Va khajjiti! Va renrijit budi rab!" he friendly greeted Dar'ji'ra in a very seasoned Ta'agra. "Va bosmeri!" Dar'ji'ra replied, a bit surprised of the Bosmer's in-depth knowledge of the Khajiiti language. "My name is Sardor. I'm the operator of this humble business." he continued in a polite and humble way. She didn't expect such modesty from a Mer left alone a Bosmer. "I search rest and room, bosmer." Dar'ji'ra realized her rude barking towards Sardor and tried to give her request a friendlier touch: "I will pay greatly for expenses and accomodation." Well done, I'm one polite Ra'Kaht. She cynically remarked about her own coversation skills. Sardor seemed surprised too but rather about the fact of Dar'ji'ra's use of language. He had thought her to be a nearly mute 'Senche' because of her height. As she looked down on him he felt Dar'ji'ra was almost two feet taller than himself and her blunt way of expression plus the prospect eager refunding by a Khajiit was more than enough to raise his suspicion. "Of course! Accomodation it is!" he said, slightly insecure about who just stepped through his door. "We have a marvelous cabin upstairs and..." "I'll take it." Dar'ji'ra interrupted him leaving a rock of moonsugar by the size of the bosmer's eye on the counter, adding: "This will serve for now..." Sardor pointed her towards the upper storey of the tavern. "May I ask how long you intend to humble my establishment with your presence?" he called out behind her as she made her way up the stairs. Nosy little meri, she thought. "Expect the same amount tomorrow and don't let me be bothered." she answered avoiding Sardor's question. The door to her cabin creaked as Dar'ji'ra shut it from the inside.... -

sounds intruiging. but i wonder do you expect any Rp-experience since my RP-count equals zero plus english is not my native language. and just how necessary will it be to be aware of the TES-lore? it's been ages since i played Morrowind or Oblivion. -
well i think the the nvse *.exe & *.dll go into exactly the directory where falloutnv.exe is located. if you dont know where it is you might wanna start a search on your HDD for that falloutnv.exe, the corresponding folder should be listed there... cheers

What combat skill is the most useful to you?
Sarogath replied to theLeeHarvey's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
well a decent guns skill is probably inevitable since projectile weaponry is really that abundant in the wasteland.. the character i play right now is specialized in energyweapons (gotta love the plasma spaz perk^^) and melee. i do find melee useful even in early game stages imo its about building your character right if you want high dmg with your melee weapon you will need an appropriately high strength value and you might wanna increase your sneakskill to get that auto-crit when attacking from a hidden position. and i do think melee without sneak as support-skill is quite a bit harder because raiders may see you wielding your 6feet bumper-sword as you run towards them and are very likely to open fire... i have to admit that i only started to really build for the plasmaweapons when i hit Level10 because of the lovely Q35 - "Matter Modulator" i found. plus the weapon upgrade mods i have installed makes it a perfect one hit kill on a deathclaw when sneaking (or a whole pack of deathclaws that is xD). so there's no lack of power for energyweapons in my game. i do feel a bit OP sometimes but then again i'm Level30 and i dont wanna fight for my life everytime i stumble upon a single blind deathclaw... for melee my choice is "Knock-Knock" -> killed the deathclawqueen in the quarry with 3 hits straight (fully amped up chems. big fun a must try^^) cheers -
*muahaha* ... join the darkside, we have cookies^^... like in FO3 i find it awfully hard to keep your character "evil" throughout a whole game but there is a mod that removes the karma gain for killing feral ghouls and random bandits -> http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37546 other than that you'll have to betray, double-cross, steal, rob and murder anybody who gives you a "screw-face" and/or make the choice for the bad karma reward in the quest missions even though it will yield less loot/valuables many times after mission completion... *waving hysterically*

really looks like the wasteland has a lot more female than male heroes to offer^^ my current character's a girl too, laid out to be a the sneaky melee ninja type with a knack for energy weapons especially the plasma-shooting ones^^ http://www.newvegasnexus.com/imageshare/images/1754663-1297869499.jpg i have a kind of on-going story portaying her as a bit "out of place" after being shot in the head, buried and probably molested back into life by filthy doc mitchell xD -
Best Locations For Scenic Screenshots?
Sarogath replied to Deleted1811414User's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
hehe^^ ... that's a good one, if there were "THE" best spots for scenic shots they'd be exhausted quite quick... if you want the scenic shots for comparison to your own system you could check out the galleries on the nexus or search pictures per google on the nexus (works quite well)... other than that its up to you to find nice and fitting sceneries, those obsidian guys did a quite good job on building the F:NV landscape. so whatever you may find nice to look at: capture a screenshot. you might want to take it from different angles and/or slightly different camera positions. if you do not like the aftermath of your screenshots you can still dispose of them in the seemingly endless depths of your recycle bin^^ you could try collecting a gallery of ingame spots that are actually created after a real-world place or you could amass a series of high-range, high-visibility shots the idea behind this is to squeeze the most out of that still nice but rather dusty gamebryo-engine.. hint: a good way of finding nice spots for scenic shots is to really walk the mojave and NOT fast-travel anywhere you can *waving hysterically* -
the teaser shots do look very nice indeed... all your plans sound quite promising... hope to see some in the download section soon^^

i'm with you on the exiting-crash for F:NV. i do get it too but i'm fairly sure that this is my own fault due to the overuse of mods... if you happen to have a lot of mods installed you might try merging the files to a patch... this is actually thought to bring game-improvements FPS-wise but maybe it can fix your problem with the crashing too ... not that they are that "classic" in my opinion but i rather liked the soundtrack of the "Hitman"-franchise with Jesper Kyd composing new material for every game those guys at 101 studios have in the making. Plus it's always played by a very professional orchestra. Another soundtrack I liked was the work of Amon Tobin in "Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory". I found the mixture of drum'n'bass & ambient quite fitting.

you might want to think about your companion very thouroughly. as for Veronica i dont know what version of the game you are running or whether you have any mods installed but i do know that there can be a bug related to her quest that causes you to not be able to finish Veronica's quest (which i found rather dull tbh but thats my opinion and i dont wanna spoil some quest-elements by calling it by name^^). i also found it a bit better to choose a companion that fits your own fighting style e.g. if you were a sneaky cut-throat operating from around a corner or sth Veronica'd be a good choice since she'll support close range with quite a punch. on the other hand if you played a sniper-character Veronica might not come in quite as handy because you engage the enemy @ long range whereas Veronica has to walk/run to the enemy to deliver that punch of hers. i am aware of the micro-management options there are for your companion, still i find these options way too "micro" to really give you the old Fallout feel as if you had a party to lead through the wasteland... as for game progression... i find it funny or from my point of view a bit odd that you already have been to the trading post but havent come about primm^^, of course there is no necessity to visit primm @ all but you might wan to bear in mind that even the "early" areas can yield quite some goodies speaking weaponry and armor, so some exploring will reap benefits... for factions... well i find them all to be quite backwards in my opinion. caesar's legion is a pack of slavers who think they know better. NCR are a bunch imperialistic capitalists who think they know better. the followers of the apocalypse have given in to the aggressive expansion of the NCR same as with the Khans. powder gangers cant make up their mind whether they like me or not but whenever i return to some of their lands a few attack me (tho i tried to solve all related quests in their favor). i find town-factions dont really have that much of an effect on the game @ all but then again i havent finished it yet... have a good one! oh gosh havent played BF:BC2 in ages but i have to say i'm one of that fraidy-cat snipers too tho i found myself to be a rather good one relying on my sneak and diversion tactics.. anyways the best shot i took was on a rush map with me being in the U.S. team as an attacker. the thing i did here was not to go towards the enemy when the map started but rather move in quite the opposite direction. the result was a rather measly score of 4:0 but every shot i made count (talking marksman-headsot-bonus) yielded about 750-800 points for me. it was a pain in the ass to aim tho since the guys i was shooting were way below any rangemarkings. (at times i had to aim not with the thin vertical line of your scope but with the thick part of it @ the bottom of the scope xD)... i give in some hits were rather lucky but then again i was actually behind my own mainbase and couldnt see the guys when i was aiming @ them...

i think i could not agree any more :D i didnt feel as there were fingers pointed towards me^^, still i found a bit misunderstood and found it necessary (for my own mental well-being) to rephrase or clarify some of my statements

A fair point, but you could say that in those circumstance that if all that was required to induce a violent event was a triggerpoint, then that individual already had a condition and/or was disposed to violent reaction that could be triggered by anything. If someone goes on a violent or murderous spree then the mental instability is already there, triggered by whatever set that event in motion, the core problem that needs to be addressed is finding these individuals that are predisposed to this type of behaviour beforehand and giving them the help they need, which is nigh on impossible as society tends to have an "I'm alright jack" attitude untill the you know what hits the fan and everybody needs something to blame. very true. i didnt mean to say that this so called triggerpoint is only inherent to videogames. it could also be your girlfriend breaking up with you or you losing your home basicly everything that puts a lot of stress onto a person. edit: i only recognized there was a poll too. well of 73 people who voted only 2 found that videogames encourage violent behaviour, so i think the communities' mind is pretty made up^^

The problem is that: A). it really isn't our business what that person does in the bedroom B). Preferences don't determine the person, the actions of that person do. C). Preference is really just a bad word for it since it denotes a choice or something which isn't intrinsic to the person. Affinity is better since it combines both choices and interests with those innate aspects that play a role in sexuality. D). It only has an impact or importance when someone mentions something which is not normative. Someone proclaiming that they like cookies has less impact than someone who proclaims that they have adopted a diet of dog-turds. As for how all this affects public opinion or the perception of how it might affect their decisions, that's a whole other ball of wax which is rooted in the norms of whatever dominant group is present in that section of society. sorry for my inappropriate use of language. english is not my mother-tongue. i did not want to emphasize on the importance of a "celebrity person" coming out (i wouldn't care myself very much) and i think we do agree in at least the general idea, since: A.) You are right but on the other hand everyday bedroom-level stories are intertwined with real news in the media, so even though it might not be our business there is certainly some kind curiosity that needs to be adressed in one way or the other. B.+C.) Of course you are right there. Again I'm very sorry for bad use of language. D.) I'd like to think of normativity as one of the major errors in human social society. Because there is no "normal person" speaking in social terms. And even if there were I would be the last person to embrace the concept. as for the irrelevance of a person that only voices thoughts along normative borders, i do think we still have to acknowledge them and put that notion of normativity under very thorough scrutiny. i hope i could explain myself a bit better this time

yea that's right, excuses have been found... if mankind didnt have a violent or ruthless side "we" wouldn't be dominating this planet as a species now... idk whether video games made me much more violent or angry but if you'd ask me i found videogames to be a really great stress-reliever (and those games that in my area are called plain "killergames" were even more relieving) especially when i was playing online against other human players. i did get angry sometimes but only at myself for my obvious lack of skill. and i realized how much more cruelty i could watch as i was getting older. tho i don't know whether this can be purely accredited to me playing videogames. however i have to agree on some studies that say, if an individual lacks social background and immerses into a game too much the game itself might well have a "triggerfunction" (no pun intended, i am making a serious point) releasing a huge amount of aggressive emotion which wasn't put there by videogames in the first place... (i'm hoping i did not repeat after others too much but its 06:00 a.m. in my place and i was just too lazy to read seven pages of read-worthy discussion)

This /\ A good portion of the prejudice which exists is only there because people become so attached to their social labels and often remove themselves from the greater society because of those labels they place upon themselves. Not to make light of the issue, but what this and many other things often boil down to is playground mentality: If a child or group of children are off on the side away from everyone else, they won't be included in the games which are being played, and may even be harassed for not belonging. The sentiment is not one of uniformity, but rather the suspicion that because that child or group does not want to interact with the others, it "must" mean that something is wrong with that child or group, or worse, that child or group really means to do "us" harm. This framework applies to most of the prejudice which is not caused by sheer ignorance or misinformation. i totally agree with you there considering the "playground mentality" vagrant. in my opinion global society as a whole displays a lack of maturity not only in terms of forming "one" global community or accepting each other as the beings we are but also in terms of the reality perception. that being said who actually is the society? aren't we all society in one way or the other? we all have the responsibility to improve the current society we are living in right now. i don't dare say "by all means necessary" but in some cases i find it appropriate to give a person a gentle but firm slap in the face to make them realize: "this far, not further". of course violence is never an answer and will subsequently lead to more violence. this, in my humble opinion, is where mankind fails, we fail to establish a constructive dialogue that doesn't disadvantage one or the other party. (hmm society rant...) as for transgenderism, i spend a lot of time in a politicly left-wing project. those tend to put a focus on topics like transgenderism, homophobia, racism or sexism. and once anyone really starts getting into a topic they'll probably come to see how much "deep-programming" has been done by the so-called society. you see i disagree about the methods of social control that are applied to people whether they are religious, sexual, psychologic or i don't know what some wacko in a wood might think of to make people do as he pleases...(more rant...) The goals can only be: Don't do as you are told! Always question anything! And be self-reliant about your dealings! nobody needs anybody to tell her/him what and what not to do. i appreciate Megatarius' gesture, i wished more people in prominent positions'd tell about their sexual preferences or their divine opinion and not be afraid of what people might think. it will not change who they are or what decision they made.

German Version - Blood Patch?
Sarogath replied to Schatten82's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
if the option of changing region in the system or steam doesnt work try editing the fallout.ini in your /mygames folder altering or adding "bDisableAllGore=0"... just like in FO3 i think... dont forget to save afterwards (might wanna try setting it read-only)... other than that i'm pretty sure there is mods that fiddle with gore-effects -> http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35083 .. might do the trick tho there seem to be some issues of a technical sort...
