  1. What I'm looking for is a mod that will make it easier to manage soul gems without "cheating" or messing with any game mechanics. So normally when you capture a creature's soul, you hear a loud crack and you get a notification in the upper left of the screen "Soul captured!". What I'd like to see is "Greater Soul captured!" either instead of, or in addition to that standard notification. Even better would be to see "Greater Soul Gem(Common) added!", since that would tell you what gem was used and what size soul your target had. All you need to do there is list the item most recently added to your inventory. For extra credit, It would also be great to list how many empty gems (of whatever size was just used) are left in your inventory. So for example, you might receive two messages: "Common Soul Gem(Common) Added!" "3x Common soul gem(empty) left". The main reason I think this is needed, is that it takes way too long to figure out what size souls creatures have without checking a freaking wiki. As it is, I need to check how many of each size soul gem I have, then capture a soul, then re-count all of my empty soul gems checking for the one missing, then check to make sure it was the correct size gem used for that soul... I mean, seriously?
  2. Yeah, modding is reserved for PC only I'm afraid, I don't think the PS3 version supports it at all. The good news is it's easier than ever to build a PC (you could put together a computer that would play this at max settings for $600). Also, if you have an intel mac, you could probably boot camp and play on that. You don't want to be using a DualShock anyway ;-)
  3. Thanks, that's exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. Should I use FO3Edit or FONVEdit, cause it seems like the NV version is pretty experimental still. And I don't have FO3 at the moment.
  4. I used a bunch of youtube videos to figure it all out. < This guy goes slow and he's not the best speaker, but he makes every single step on how to edit a weapon pretty clear. < Official Bethesda video on weapon editing < Official Bethesda video on environments/locations and... all of these videos are for the FO3 GECK, not the FO:NV GECK, but it's mostly the same.
  5. Hey guys, so I'm new to modding and new to these forums. So forgive these vague newb questions. I finished a really simple mod, that changes (fixes in my opinion) 1 item in NV. The only guides I used were a few youtube videos for using the GECK in FO3, but I think I did everything right. Now what I'm wondering is if there's anything else I should do before compressing the esp file and posting it. Like is there any way to check it for compatibility with common mods, or is there any sort of approval process? And of course the mod: Sheriff's Duster Balanced Seeing that the "Sheriff's Hat" has been fixed in mods to be repairable with other hats (Repairable Cowboy Hats), I decided to do the same for the Sheriff's Duster. I also decided to bring the stats for the Sheriff's duster in line with other dusters in the game. It now has a 150 HP and 5 DR, the same as it was in FO3. This leaves it at a lower DR than all the other dusters found later in NV (so it's not an overpowered item found so early in the game). I also made sure it's listed as light armor, not clothing.
