  1. Well.... it would appear the blatent obvious is the reason. My monior was plugged into the Intel graphics card. Hence the 7 fps on low, I switched ports and am now running on Ultra settings at a smooth 60fps with everything on. Finally....
  2. Hey I'm Jay! bought a new gaming pc a few weeks back and decided to pick up witcher 3 was SUPER STOKED! Made sure my pc was over speced the whole 9. Well at least I thought I did, when I start playing Witcher III the lag is reeeeaaaally bad no matter WHAT graphics settings I choose. I thought for sure I could run it at Ultra but I mean everything just runs at a really slooooow sloow pace. So I tried LOW, it was okay for like 10 min then it was really slow again. I'm not sure if this is a bug because I downloaded from steam and maybe some files are corrupted or what. Do you think there is maybe a graphics overhaul mod that would help or a performance mod that can make this run at normal speeds? See attached for computer specs Pulled them from https://www.systemrequirementslab.com and according to a system annaylasis I'm good for the recommended settings? So I'm at a total lose.... Why won't it play normally?
  3. He could also try enboost as well. hey I feel you man I run with a laptop too but even with enboost and everthing I still run at medium graphics but to be honest I can't tell... the mods I have make everything so "colorful" that I don't eve noticed high vs medium, only reason I notice low is because of the distance render. that's it... Look up enboost and give that go. It should bring you back up to full. Also try Game booster, throw your steam file in there so when skyrim turns on it shuts down all your laptops unessential processes gave me about 40% performance boost and cleared about 23% of my memory usage while running skyrim. May have to run a few things as admin though to get it to work. I'm running the same overall settings you are and I have about half your specs. This is supposed to be a work pc. It's got a super powerful core for handling professional programs but a crap card and I think 8g ram. So it's basic for gaming, but advanced for work. the way I speced things though I can get the same function out of my sky rim with a "Family" value graphics card. Yeah I just looked at your specs again I have an i5... So If I can get what you get with all the steroids without lag or studder you should be able to max things out with enboost and game booster.
  4. what qwerty said... One simply doesn't reinstall and delete files and expected modded content to function propperly. depending on what method you used to install your mods via MO or NMM or manually... your gonna have to start over for a few things. and honestly starting voer is time consuming but good for your system. IF your reinstalling skyrim then you should should reinstall everything you changed as well. Yeah it takes a long time, but it's better for your game stability in the long run. It's just safe modding practices. what you did is really unsafe and causes a lot of instability. But I'm sure your about to find that out the hard way here soon.
  5. thanks for the link yeah I get it now. I had the whole thing down, everything was going super smooth. I had done enough manual downloads and spent enough time with NMM that I got MO right away. Reminded me of an older program I used for fallout ages ago. It just killed me when java wasn't working I was like.... I have java. I've used it before why is it not working now. For some reason the Java files I had weren't... what MO needed. When I got the right files from oracle mo could patch fine. Aparently I had an older version that was just a 64 bit. pftttt.... pffft... whatever MO temperamental child. And yeah the whole idea that I have my own profiles and it injects everything ON the fly is so awesome. My skryim stays clean from now on, never have to hunt down files or anything again it's really nice now that I nderstand how everything works.... Oh I need to endorse... Oh I can't... nexus is down. Sob
  6. Well here is first problem, MO doesn't "Run" Or manage SKSE. Think of skse as another application, a shortcut if you will to skyrim. IT injects it's OWN code into skryim that allows it to do more cool stuff the mods in MO needs to function. So whatever you did with SKSE and MO, undo it. You don't need to. When you install SKSE you WANT to run it from your steam/steamapps/common/skryim folder. UNpack everything there. Now MO, you can create a launcher from MO, through your RUN dropdown. "Select edit" chose you excuitable as the shortcut you have setup for SKSE. That's all you should ever have to do with for the two. Now the problem your having seems... like something else. Also the x86 isn't going to matter much as long as you understand your file pathing and how you have it set up. Some mods come in the file format as FOMOD.... You need NNM for this. I'm sure you already have if you have MO, if no you'll need it. BECAUSE MO does not have the ablitity to understand FOMAD's. IT uses NNM as a bridge to understand them. When you install SKYUi with MO you get an error message, and that's fine ignore it. Continue with install as normal. MO doesn't have the ability to detect SKSE in your data folder because it can only "See" Mods in particular formats. SKSE is an application format, so it ignores it. It's okay it will work as intended. I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish in the archives, but you really shouldn't mess with those things unless instructed to by a mods installation process or know exactly what your doing. For a first time user, I suggest you JUST use NMM. Get a feel for things and upgrade to MO at a later date. NMM is for your every day user, and works perfectly. When you start getting into MO and what it can do it's because you need a function NMM can't provide and need more control over files. If were you, I'd scrub everything. Scrub it all, reinstall and do it with NMM this time. When you ready and have learned more jump into MO, because MO goes without saying you know what your doing. That stuff takes a while to learn, cause believe it or not there is A LOT to learn about modding, and stability and god knows it's a headache. NMM relieves that headache for basic users and dumbs every down. It's a really good place to hope on. Good on you for researching before hand, but walk before you run. Or your gonna keep running into problems like this.
  7. That is a really advanced question. I'll share what I know from limited experience. After you unpack the BSA'S from the skyrim (lots of exporter tools here.) You use nif scope with 3ds auto desk to manipulate files and formats. I know that's a general statement but I'm just diving into this myself. The best I can do it point you in the right direction. http://www.brainpoof.com/tutorial-videos/game-modding/12-skyrim/13-1-creating-custom-armors-step-by-step/9-1-creating-armors-for-skyrim-introduction/ These gents put together a VERY extensive how to guide. And it's what most people use/go by. Best of luck man getting set up is part of the headache. Also make sure you get 2012 for autodesk (you can get it for free they'll show you how.)
  8. This gentlemen goes over a nice tutorial about how to create and apply it.
  9. yeah nav-mesh is actually easier then building the darn thing lol. I don't know which tutorials you watched hooowever Bethesda's creation kit tutorials has a 7 part basic guide to using the kit. And the guy who did the nav-meshes for the game goes over how to use them in good detail. And it makes seem like a cake walk. He even suggests doing nav-meshes by hand always and not doing them with the auto tool at all. He's got a some really cool tips and tricks.
  10. Yeah it's in the creation kit you gotta something to respawn, I think you can just click on the item to achieve it that in the render window. I'd have to open it up to be sure, and well I Dont' feel like messing with creation kit to be sure lol. Anyway the vanilla system has a 30 day reset. Every 30 days in game, all items respawn/reset (except uniques.) But yeah there is a way to make them respawn and a way to tinker with it. But it's all done in creation kit. It's just a box you click that says "respawn" gosh... where is it.... sorry man drawing a blank.
  11. Oh never mind... I had a different variation of java-runtime when I downloaded the one form oracle I got a bunch of extra functions I didn't have before. >_< AAAAAH! I'm Making cookies right now to make myself fell better.... past few days have been rough. rebuilding everything from the ground up again.
  12. Java run time with modmanager. I just scrubbed everything and thought I would switch programs and picked up MO, and I'm having a huge problem with java runtime getting anything to run as an executable. I click run/open whatever and it opens up a window asking me what I want to run it with. None of the videos covered this... I've watched about a 4 half hour long videos all great tips nothing helps me with skyproc patches... like it's asking me to associate it with a program. I think I think it's asking where is java. So I select Java and I get an error it's not 64 bit compadable or some jazz... yeah I know this. The java file I got from oracle has 9000000000 executable files in it. The readme says it can do both 64 bit and 32 bit. Dafaq One these days I'm throwing the laptop out the window and picking up scrabble. I've about had it! I'm readownloading Java right now to see if it's in the instalation window like maybe I clicked 64 bit and I needed 32 bit. IT never mattered with NNM so I didn't bother... MO has some really nice features but omg.... omg it's annnoying. And why am I getting these MASSIVE meta file dumps in my recycle been. Like this program scares the crap out of me.
  13. I've had similar issues where crashes happen at the same place over and over again. To tell you the truth I just completely lost a saved file due to duel sheath redux. Soooo.... I scrubbed it. Kind of a last resort. I uninstalled EVERYTHING! Skyrim, enboost, mods everything. Switched over to mod manager while I was at it. Completely whiped my computer and starting fresh with more knowledge. Every time I've done this I've gotten better stability learned what mods totally blow and how to avoid other ctds. While some mods are cool... they don't play well with others. So instead of just grabbing whatever gets endorsed the most, I check thier logs. Who is updating who is using the latest tools, who has a good reputation for clean mods. The modders here are getting better and better it's actually kind of scary that some of them work on an above professional level. ^__^ In a few weeks I get to work with one on a project and I'm so stoked. I got some studying to do this, this guy mastered HTD and here I am still learning Payprus scripting... lol needless to say i feel privileged to learn from him in a hands on piece of work. And no I can't say who or what were working on =D It's a suprise, but it will be one of a kind epicness. At anyrate hope you can narrow down your CTD's without having to scrub... I've been working on my scrub for about 9 hours now. Taking a break browsing the forum... Modding is fun.
  14. looks like you found an old thread in google. This is a HEAVILY scripted event, mods tamper with it hard. Uninstall all your mods, reinstall skyrim. (Fnis is usually the main culprit here.) Play through helgen until AFTER you escape through the cave and enter the world. Activate your mods then. Don't Mod helgen unless you know exactly what your installing, and even then it's not a good idea. Before you exit the game though make a FRESH save right after helgen. From this day forward this is your "Clean save" It wouldn't be a bad idea to clean your masters before you start a new game either.
  15. TES5edit seems complicated at first, but give it time and it's easy to figure out. What your basically trying to do with edit is find out WHY it crashed. When you load the program select your current load order and click okay. IT's going to load everything, wait. It will freeze and crash on whatever mod is making your system crash. Let me see if I can do something real quick to make it crash on mine to give you an example. Okay for starters [01:37] Background Loader: finished < With NO ERRORS Means everything is okay. Everything loaded and your dealing with a broken mod. Meaning... one by one.... Enableing Papyrus log can help too sometimes. but that's only IN game. doesn't do much for the background loader. So background loader explained.... When the game starts up, before you get the option to click continue, new game etc. ALL of your mods load into your game. IF something is wrong with your load order, it crashes instead. This is the basic function of the background loader you need to understand. tes5edit, has a "Fake" Background loader. IT can go through the same process as skyrim loading the mods, but if it crashes it doesn't go to desktep it simply tells you why it crashed. IE (Making my system crash right now.) Okay [00:03] Background Loader: loading "Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp"... [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp] Loading file [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp] File loaded [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp] Start processing [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp] Adding master "Skyrim.esm" [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp] Adding master "Update.esm" [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp] Adding master "Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp" [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp] Loading file [00:03] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2. The system cannot find the file specified> [00:05] Background Loader: finished Okay so I uninstalled a patch Unoffical skyrim patch.esp Some esp files, have "Master Files" what this means, is that file must be included in your load order to function. Now I uninstalled a master file, and we look at this line. [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp] Adding master "Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp" [00:03] Background Loader: [unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp] Loading file ^- Dawnguard patch NEEDS this file, so it tells the game to load it's master file. The game reaches for that files and freaks out cause you got 15 min to get to work and you lost your damn keys. Skyrim explodes and freaks out. FINISH HIM!!!! [00:03] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2. Yikes.... So basically the last file the system was attempting to load is our problem child. In my case I was missing an ESP. In your case if IW as a guessing man I'd say you have a mod that gives you optional files as part of the installment process. Like Enchaned blood textures has a patch for Skyrim Monster Mod.... Well if you don't have skyrim monster mod and you selected the patch. When it's the patchs turn to run in the background loader it goes Okay Load SkymoMOD.esm...... FINISH HIM!!!! [00:03] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2. Skyrim freaks out the file isn't there. you never downloaded it. Tes5edit will tell you what file that is so you don't have to manually go through every single file to figure it out. Happy load order hunting.
  16. Once you start using fnis you are practically stuck with it until you delete everything. IF you used NMM it still leaves behind files even after you unistall and delete. You need to reinstall fnis and run it again making sure you selected the right tabs. If you want to uninstall fnis you need to delete all the files associated with it manually after you uninstall using NMM because it leaves files behind that will conflict. Thereshould be a detailed uninstall on the authors page.
  17. double check your scripts. Start by making a copy of sleeping giant inn, and place her in that instead. Make it a stand alone render cell for testing to keep the game itself clean. Coc into that cell to start testing. Check other follower mods that place followers inside the sleeping inn. Try loading up Vilja's esp and going over what other authors did. Often time when I'm trying to do something in creation kit I look at others authors work who did something similar. I usually have an "ooooooh" moment. I wish I Could be of more help, but well I'm a newbie too.
  18. *takes hat off to you* Great practice for you and what you've been learning in school. Good way to build a portfolio too for future job interviews! I say anyone considering working with this gentlemen take advantage. You would be helping him out in many ways also. Great initiative Mr. Stankbeard, keep up the good work!
  19. with that many mods your gonna have crashes. Your injecting A LOT of scripts into your game, and not all scripts get along. The kind of errors your looking for exist in your papyrus log, which you need to enable. Note while it's enabled it takes from your performance to log them. Often time cleaning mods is a bad idea, often times the modder leaves certian files in for a reason that TES5edit thinks are bad files. don't edit mods offright, contact the author directly and inform them. They'll let you know if it's okay to edit or it's there for a reason. (by now most authors have up in their read me or in their forum thread information re guarding this.) One problem your running into is you cleaned a mod, and when a script goes and tries to pull from something you deleted it freezes causing a CTD. CTD's happen for a number a reasons when you start modding. With as many as you have you may want to consider downloading WYRE bash and creating a bashed patch to handle your leveled lists so they don't conflict with each other. Even looking into to merging a few together that handle the same thing. Simple, answer there is no simple fix. CTD'S are unique to each modder. Enable Payprus logging and try to recreate the crash. Review the log and try find out where the freeze is coming from. Often times scripts pull from similar resources and while the mod files itself access differant forms and functions some scripts still don't behave well together. There is no way to make them behave as intended if this is the case. Also if you remove a mod that contains scripts, rememember those scripts are NOT removed from a save game. The content is gone, but the scripts remain. You'll need a program to go into that saved file, identify those orphaned scripts and remove them. Because if conditions are met for that script to run, or update in your papyrus they will cause a crass because the mod that used those scripts is longer available. And what I'm saying is just the tip of the iceberg. Most information your going to find is word of mouth like what I'm giving you. I really wish there was a lot more information out there but CTD'S are unique. And troubleshooting is mostly trial and error. It also could be you have more scripts than your system can handle. Skyrim has it's own memory mamangement and pulls from it's own resources. So in some cases it doesn't matter how strong your pc is, cause well skyrim is skyrim. Ram, and pc memory doesn't have any effect on some of it's processes. Meaning it has a limit. You can edit values in your Payprus file to increase those limits, but it's never advised. IT can create even more problems than it fixes. Try reading Skyrim STability Guide, here on nexus, using enboost to help your render out. Try a wyre bash patch to help with leveled list compadability Use Payprus log to trace CTD's down. Always clean your saved files to remove orphaned scripts. Be wary of what you clean, some mods have files that say you need to clean them, but this is a false positive. That file it deletes is actually needed and will cause ctds once it's removed. Use Skyrim stability guide to increase overall stability. It's instructions are really awesome. Overall your looking at about 6-8 hours of reading downloading, and file editing to achieve "stability" in your game and I use the term loosely because with that many mods your going to run into crashes no matter what you do. The people who have 200 + mods that don't crash often times KNOW EXACTLY what they are doing and have a great deal of education on the matter or are just stupid lucky. The won the modding lottery and don't know it. For the rest us ignorant, couldn't win a game of pin the tail on the donkey.... we have to suffer and read ALOT. Been there done that, still have CTDS.... Some bullets you can't dodge. Payprus log is where you should start though. There are a few nice programs here on nexus as well that compile payprus logs into easy to read formats. (I suggest you don't open them with notepad, it's messy.) Use microsoft word, or use one of the programs here. Welcome to the club, fyi we spend more time fixing CTDS, and making mods then we actually do playing the game.... It's almost like learning how to fix CTDS and script instance is a requirement for modding to begin with. With all the mods out there there is no way to figure what what scripts are going to conflict, thats up to you as the user to find that information out and learn how to fix them... So... Save often or learn more. ;) The choice is yours.
  20. Does such a thing exist? I recently updated all of my mods, and there were quite a few. It happened so fast I Couldn't take a mental note of WHAT changed other then a few that took a while. I really wanted to read the authors notes on the updates I just downloaded buuuuuuuut I don't know if NNM maintains a log that allows me to review changed files. Originally I thought I would check windows "Last Modified" for the files but it seemed whatever changes were made weren't applied to the windows file. I found that peculiar... AT any rate if anyone know of a change log kept by NNM that would be awesome. (going to double check NNM file before I post this.) Okay yeah I checked the file location and nothing that resembled a log file/txt file. I'm guess it doesn't have this feature and there is no way of tracking what I just updated....
  21. I can't help you current problem about why it's not rendering. If you placed the actor in the cell and set it's behaviors etc etc it should be there. But I haven't spent a lot of time with the render. But I can give you some help with your camera problem! Hold shift. and you can rotate your camera view as such, press mouse three to pan. and move everything around. Check out the Creation kit guide on youtube by bethada. The very first thing they cover is camera usage/ tips and tricks with it. I found that very useful. YOU may even after watching thier guides find out what you missed. I do believe they go over actor placement in dungeons etc and may overlap what your trying to accomplish as well. (REALLY INFORMATIVE) Guide. Best of luck!
  22. At first glance I know Sounds of skyrim, dungeons and wilds don't like each other. I believe there is a patch for this though with 4 different variations and you can only use one. >_> I loaded all four into the zip so I have to change the plugin's every time I redo something cause it actiavtes all four and causes crashes, but that's m y headache. I didn't see anything about tes5edit though. It's a REALLLY good troubleshooting device for load orders. Which the problem your dealing with 99% of the time is a load order (or a broken mod, that loads just fine in loot.) Pick up TES5edit, run your load order. IT SHOULD crash, and tell you why. It's going to be the last line in your message window on the right hand side. IT's going to tell you why it crashed, something may be missing an esm, or esp required to load. You may have improperly downloaded a patch for something you don't actually have. (I've been guilty of this a time or two.) But I'll be honest you outside of Generic "It's a compatibility" problem I don't know. Check the authors page about compatibility and see if anything you read makes you go 'ooooooh, thats why." but tes5edit, will give you a really good start on what you need to do/missing in your load order. (also pretty decent editing tool without having to dive into the creation kit to change superficial values.) But this problem really sounds like a load order issue. AS FOR YOUR UNIQUE problem outside of the load order dealing with sex lab, you got me man. I Don't use mods like that I have no idea how it works. But If I'm a guessing man, that mod uses a very specific skeleton and meshes. And probably isn't compatible with what you are running with.
  23. I have a very limited expertise on this I've just recently starting doing my own modding and learning how to script and it's a big fish to fry with no background. This is my (limited) understanding, This is a script, what script I don't know I don't use dragon overhaul and I'm not really sure how it has it set up. This script could play in the form of a quest or 100 different variations. (Exaggerated number.) Where were looking for is the script that starts the assault. Some where in that script it tells the your system to let you know it's started. You would have to find that script (creation kit) and edit that value so it would not. I can't tell you exactly HOW to do this, I have a vague understand of how it works. I'm still learning how to do this myself, perhaps someone with more expertise can lead you some of their time on a how too. But from my time here at Nexus, really precise how to things like this.... The people who know how to do this are working on their own projects and don't visit the help forum to often. It's kind of an unspoken rule, you wanna learn how to mod scripts the information is out there go get it yourself. And learn through trial and error, this kind of knowledge has already been spoon fed through tutorials and guides and takes countless hours/days/weeks/months to learn how to do depending on how proficient you want to get at it. Right now your looking to modify a script, and that value that expresses "Assault has started" could be linked to who knows what. Your best bet is asking the author directly on how to modify that value, and what value exactly your looking to change. IT may take him a few days to get back to you. And he may even have to look him up himself to double check/test it out to see if it works before he gets back to you. He may ignore you. But if anyone is going to know how that script work it's going to be him, he wrote it. If he's... no longer active and what your talking about is a dead mod.... Then your going to have to learn how to do it yourself. The knowledge is out there man you just need the url's. And it's a total time sink, I spend a few hours EACH day watching guides, practicing.... IT's a really time consuming hobby. If all of that sounds like to much to deal with, well... "deal with it." lol is the last bit of advice I Can offer. We can't always have our cake and eat it too. But lets be honest most of nexus help is showing someone how to help themselves. You won't find much more, IT would be nice if authors browsed this thread more often.... but this hobby is already a huge time sink. That kind of thinking is "perfect world" kind of thing and well that's not reality. Sorry bud I know that's not what your looking for. Hopefully the author will lend you a helping hand.
  24. See that's what it SHOULD be, sorry for getting late I got carried away making changes and well totally lost track of time... it's 3 am... Wow... Where did the time just go.... Okay so anyway yeah the script says 25% so I'm either reaaaally lucky or it's got 100% chance of going off based off SOMETHING I clicked. I think it's "On death" buuuuut I dunno...... I just don't know. I'll have to look at it again later. Right now I'm trying to create a custom enchantment incorporating the effects I want, and the description I want as well. Tired of everything being this small and hard to read.
  25. Hey everyone, I was making a custom enchantment using D09Dawnbreaker for a dawn breaker replacement esp I've been tinkering with. Now the Vanilla Dawn breaker, SOMETIMES makes undead go KABOOM. NOW I don't know if it has something to do with magnitude or a script, but I can't seem to make it have a % based chance of going off like the vanilla. It's 100% explosion on kill. Then again... I do have on crit selected sun damage/on kill.... maybe the 100% on kill is triggering the dawn breaker perk by mistake as well. At any rate I'm still experimenting and trying to find SOMETHING that says why, but if anyone knows off hand please let me know. Hopefully if I can't figure it out and check this someone knew something I didn't. Much Love! Thank you!
