  1. I actually don't mind Anora too much, but until someone fulfills your wish (and if you'll forgive a little self-promotion) you may get some satisfaction from my Kick Templar Carroll into the Lake mod: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1214 It's just a quick, standalone gag mod that doesn't affect the story but let's you do some mean (but oh-so-satisfying) things to various Dragon Age characters people have found annoying. An option for Anora is included.
  2. A middle ground solution that wouldn't involve a lot of scripting would be to design a replacement cutscene. Picture this: You initially accept Morrigan's proposel, which would trigger the cutscene. But instead of running the default one it runs the custom made one where your character changes their mind. Some careful recycling of dialogue could probably be put together to make a plausible conversation. Cutscene ends. As far as the game is concerned you underwent Morrigan's ritual and so you get to live and she stays with you. There's probably a couple dialogue events later on that would still seem a bit odd, but again, I only suggest this as a solution that wouldn't involve any scripting knowledge. Personally, I like having having to face tough choices such as this one and as Dan points out it would go against lore, but hey, whatever makes the game more fun for you.
  3. A good trick to make use of the mouth open animation is to split and stretch the animation so that the mouth only opens as much as you wish, and takes as long to do so as you want: That is, the mouth actually opens smoothly but the entire opening bit takes place in the first 5% of the animation. By stretching out the animation bar, you can then find the spot early on in the animation where the mouth is as open as you want it, and then split the animation at that point. Delete the section of the animation to the right of where you made the split. Then just stretch the animation out so that the mouth opening sequence--the bit you still have--takes as long as you want it to.
  4. I'm sure there's a better way to do it, but here's the only method I know: --When you have the mesh open in blender, go into edit mode so that you are looking at the vertices of the mesh. --Select the vertices you want to assign to the texture file (either hold shift down and select one vertice at a time, or hit the "B" key twice to get a tool to select numerous vertices at once) --Now we need to go to UV/Image editor. To get there first find the icon that looks like a tic tac toe board to the far left of your mid-screen toolbar (left of where you choose edit/sculpt mode, etc). When you click it you get a drop down menu, one of the options of which is UV/Image editor. Go there. --Once there, select “image”, then “open” and find the texture file you want to use. You should notice that whichever vertices you selected are now sitting on top of the texture file you opened. --At this point you can move or resize the vertice around so they are sitting on top of the section of the texture file you want them to use. --I talk a bit about how to resize/move them in this tutorial about thirteen steps down: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/articles/article.php?id=42 By the way, all this is only needed if you want to add/subtract/edit the shape of a mesh (like adding sleeves). If at some point you decide all you want to do is reskin (re-colour) a texture file, then you don't have to worry about blender, or meshes or any of this other stuff.
  5. I can at least point you towards two useful sets of video tutorials (a couple of each deal with cutscenes): --http://www.silentcid.com/main/ --http://www.youtube.com/user/dragonage22#p/u/8/ZOQr2Dmx2iU Good luck.
  6. Not sure how many people this will help, but I've had enough folks over the last few months ask me how to combine two texture and mesh files into one using blender that I thought I'd try posting a walkthrough. The walkthrough assumes you already have a basic knowledge of blender and have edited/sculpted your mesh files, and just need to know how to combine them into a single working mesh. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, this is the process I used in the "A little leg" mod to combine a body mesh/texture with an armor mesh/texture. The walkthrough has been posted here: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/articles/article.php?id=42 Cheers.
  7. Editing in blender or other software programs is not beginner easy. If you're using blender I assume you've also downloaded the script by NewByPower which is needed to import/export dragon age mesh files into blender? It can be found here: http://social.bioware.com/project/899/ It's been so long for me I don't remember the steps to install it, but there is a walkthrough included I think (again, not necessarily beginner friendly). Extracting mesh files from the toolset is the same as extracting texture files. The file with the mesh files is usually found here on your computer: computer--->program files (maybe program filesx86)-->dragon age-->packages--core-->data-->modelmeshdata
  8. If your main concern is to get into a romance with Morrigan without delay, I think there are already a couple mods that can do that. Here's one you may want to look at: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13 It adds several useful items to your inventory, including a love potion. :)
  9. Ah, gotcha Stardusk. Yeah, that would have been pretty cool. I think the consensus among players is that we with they'd been given the time and resources to more fully integrate all our old companions into the expansion. As long as they didn't leave out the others, then I agree that would have been a good possible role for Loghain. But then, I always kill the fellow, so he's the one character I don't miss at all.
  10. I realize this comes down mostly to personal preference and there's probably a lot of people that would have liked what you suggest. Personally, it would have annoyed me. Awakenings already suffers from not being able to take many of your Origins decisions into account, and pretty much pretends that half of your party never existed. Percentage-wise, most people probably kill Loghain, so bringing him back would make absolutely no sense in terms of what came before, even moreso than other such flaws. I was also annoyed when I realized that of all the companions the one they chose to bring back was Oghren. If of all the possible companions that they could have brought back they chose to spend their time and energy on Loghain...well, I would have been one unhappy warden.
  11. Wait a minute! How could you possibly leave out as an option...claymation? Just think the Voyages of Sinbad...Jason and the Argonauts...The original Clash of the Titans! Hmm. On second thought, maybe the choices are just fine as they are. I voted for live action, working under the assumption of decent budget/actors. On the flip side, I'd rather see it done as animation than live if the production quality was going to more of a made-for-tv level.
  12. I've taken DarkeWolf's good advice and written an article explaining how to do a bone weight copy in blender. Hope it helps: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/articles/article.php?id=39
  13. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you guys, but are you just wondering how to do a bone weight copy? That is, where you take the bones of an existing mesh from the toolset and transfer them to your custom mesh? Or are you wondering how to design a completely new bone rigging structure? I don't know anything about the second option, but If it's the first thing then pm me and I could write you a guide on how to do it in blender.
  14. Well folks, it's not quite as good as being able to do so during the actual conversation, but until someone makes something better I've hopefully got your answer: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1214 This mod will add an npc named Kary to Lake Calenhad who will, eventually, let you do several amusing things to various annoying characters. At the moment it only has the option of kicking Templar Carroll into the lake. Enjoy.
  15. You'll need to download the Toolset provided by Bioware to start. After that, I would use this tutorial as a place to begin making your own items: http://social.bioware.com/5339/blog/576/ If all you want to do is change stats of items you use, I'd download the Winter Forge mod. Good luck.
  16. I've spent forever trying to find an answer to that question, Sferzar. Unfortunately, as best I've been able to discover deleting the .fev and .fsb files is all some people have to do (and they keep the lip syncing!) but I assume you get the same result I did which is that if you delete those files then none of it works anymore. Here's the best thread I've been able to find on the topic: http://social.bioware.com/forum/Dragon-Age-Toolset/Toolset-Audio/How-to-use-VO-and-then-FaceFX-but-not-getting-the-VO-sound-ingame-272299-1.html Hope you have more luck than I did. Cheers.
  17. I don't have the codes handy right now, but what you'd need to do is rename the morph (.mor) file for them. (every character has their own face code/file). Just download any file that offers a replacement face for Morrigan and Leliana and you'll be able to see what the file is named. I think Morrigan's is: hf_genfl_morrigan.mor and leliana's is: hf_genfl_leliana.mor If you take the Morrigan face file and rename it to Leliana's and vice versa, their faces should switch. You'll need the toolset to extract their morph files so that you can rename them, however, unless you're willing to use ones that you download from someone's mod.
  18. Generally, I fall into the "necessary but unfortunate" camp. I agree that it's a moving way to set up early on that the warden's are about duty and doing whatever is necessary to preserve existence. Also sets the tone that this is going to be a game of tough decisions, with no obvious right or wrong. The fact that Jory was indeed warned that there is no turning back also helps remove many of the problems I'd normally have with such an action. BUT... --spoiler warning for Awakenings-- I feel this whole wonderful scene and debate is then completely undercut at the beginning of Awakenings. It seems like every other person knows about the joining. Heck, the person that performs the ritual and says the words isn't even a warden! I understand why for technical issues this was done, but it still in my opinion ruins the whole issue of having to kill Jory.
  19. Maybe someone else can tell you for sure, but 4 out of 5 times whenever I've had a flaw retexturing the problem usually is with the 0t.dds file. So if nobody offers something better I'd at least start there.
  20. To get the nug you have to make sure you talk to Leliana in Orzammar and have her tell you that she thinks nugs are cute, otherwise you won't have the option in dust town to ask the guy to find you one for her. Also, for those that can't stand the noise from them, there's a mod that quiets them up. To answer the question of the thread, Oghren is the one I could happily do without. Which I suppose is yet another reason I find Awakenings a bit of a kick to the guts. :)
  21. I've been working on a mod to bring back companions from Origins to Vigil's Keep in Awakenings so that players can continue to interact (if not fight) with them. One of the biggest glitches I'm having however is that the characters are spawning at several locations across different maps, despite the fact that I'm specifying an area and coordinates in the script. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone see what may be wrong with my script that this is happeing? Here is my script: #include "wrappers_h" void main() { object oPlayer = GetMainControlled(); object oMerchant = UT_GetNearestObjectByTag(oPlayer, "lelianatwo"); if (!IsObjectValid(oMerchant)) { object oArea = GetObjectByTag("vgk210ar_throne_room"); location lMerchantLocation = Location(oArea, Vector(-14.546064, -7.368423, -0.447728), -118.790512085); CreateObject(OBJECT_TYPE_CREATURE, R"lelianatwo.utc", lMerchantLocation); } } My created creature, "lelianatwo" spawns correctly in the throne room as specified, but I've also run into her now in at least two other places on different maps. But shouldn't the line: object oArea = GetObjectByTag("vgk210ar_throne_room"); confine her to the throne room? Any help much appreciated.
  22. I recognize most of those mods, but of those ones none of them are ones that would change Soris' look. I do have an idea you can try though. It's possible that somewhere you have downloaded a MOR file (these are the files that determine facial appearance). If you knew the code of Soris' MOR file you could do a simple search for it on your computer to see where it is and delete it. I don't know what his exact file would be called by since he's a male elf it would start: em_ Try typing that into the search bar of your start menu (you may have to select "search everywhere" if the resulting list is too long, since it will show you every file that starts with that code). Lood for a file with the .mor extension (it may even have soris' name in it too) and chances are that's your culprit.
  23. Good luck with your mods Demonx: I actually have done some work revealing more skin, initially with the method of painting the textures as you first thought, and then moving on to the more realistic look of combining a body mesh and armor mesh. You do have to combine the two meshes (whcih is a bit of a process) and not just edit the armor mesh, because otherwise there is no body to reveal! Here's my initial mod painting the textures (you can look at some of the textures to see how it worked. Painting the 0n.dds file helps smooth the skin out from the armor shape a bit): http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=790 After spending a few weeks tearing most of my hair out learning how to use blender :) I was able to improve on the idea by editing the meshes instead of the textures here: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=861 Cheers.
  24. They're far from perfect, but I've been working on a couple mods that try to deal with this issue: Add Origins companions to Vigil's Keep: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1082 Receive letters from Origins companions in Awakenings: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1053
  25. I've been working on a mod that reveals a bit more skin of various male and female characters. There's only a few up so far but feel free to take a look: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=861
