  1. Is it possible? No idea.. Is it a good idea? Probably not. Since tessellation was popularized its use in game has gone down constantly. Its good for like.. rocks.. and tree.. And with the amount of rocks and trees in Skyrim it could be crippling. Parrallax mapping has really proven to be the better option over the years. At least for most situations.
  2. Playing thru Dragonborn for my third time now "first I ended up with a bloated savegame from the sos civilizations mod then I found a fix this morning after I had already started a new game before" sooo.. Finally about to finish this expansion after many troubles and now I'm getting stuck thanks to a Bethesda bug T_T I can't read the Book "Waking Dreams" during the quest "At the Summit of Apocrypha" I just see the book.. and.. nothing.. I can close it and go back to running around or whatever but it's script is failing. No I didn't forget to learn the shout. Ive tried removing the book and adding it back with "player.remove/additem 04016e22 1" But the book just takes me back to an earlier cutscene location where I become stuck ;3; Anyone know of a spell effect attached to the book I can access with the console or something? I saw some things connected to the book when searching "help waking" like some ACTI codes which I understand to be item placement information "am I wrong?" Is there anything I can do to force this event on my game since the book won't work?
  3. Alright.. Someone at Bethesda working on the Riekling clutter was either new or moving to fast. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/920128278738563160/E5F239E347677EE8CDD8F0D41BE9326127115028/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/920128278738562049/E49667C639ED6E64A25B9C7887AAA38474D399B4/ As you can see. That bush, Bridge piece, Skull, Stretched Leather, and a Bone I didn't get a shot of all are fullbright even in the dark. This isn't the first time Ive noticed Bethesda making this mistake. It was a problem with the honeypot too. But this is the most obvious offence Ive seen. I have a feeling that Beth wont be fixing this either ;_; So its gonna be up to us moddders. I'm Curious if anyone else has noticed this or knows exactly what the problem is? I first thought it was the alpha in the diffuse texture but after turning off my ENB its now more clear that it is either a material issue or a Nif defect. And yes I know this is a game glitch and not exactly a Mod topic but its obvious to me this is going to become a mod project since Beth wont touch this :/ My firelogs would still be purple if it wasn't for the modders.
  4. help ash 0 Shows all items with the word "ash"
  5. Got it! .. player.addspell 03027bfb, player.removespell 03027bfb
  6. From the new dragonborn DLC Ash Guardian effect... http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/920128278722800749/997116040FFBC7F8DD37EB323F2D3532D2E5E23E/ Not sure of the ID for it or how to get it yet ;3;
  7. I would look it up in the CK but its not compatible with Dragonborn yet.. sure there is a way around this.. But YES! Not the only one with this! xD We will fix this.. It is the Ash Guardian effect and it is from the new DCL.
  8. Having this too D: Need to find the spell ID for the Ash Guardian since I'm 100% sure that is what is causing this. Started right when the first one showed up on screen. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/920128278722800749/997116040FFBC7F8DD37EB323F2D3532D2E5E23E/
  9. Kudos! .. xD I was not aware of this.
  10. Just noticed Skyrim updated this morning with a new High-Res pack for the Dragonborn DLC.. Problem.. The old method of inserting "HighResTexturePack03.bsa" into the Skyrim.ini Archive load list doesn't seam to be loading this new pack.. I have to enable the BSA file to get it to show up. This means I can't mod any textures in the game without loosing the HD pack or unpacking. Anyone else notice this or attempt to find a work around?
  11. Depends on the mod.. Ive yet to see anyone talking about mod conflict. This has me a little worried o-o I thought at least someone would be commenting on issues with loot lists and animation mods... Maybe its just to early. Safe bet is 3 weeks if its a big mod and is still supported.
  12. ((FIXED)) Was a driver update.. Had to downgrade to an older driver. http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1384
  13. Last night I got the bright idea to try and see what skyrim looked like with it enabled. I use Anaglyph 3D Vision with my Nvidia 550ti drivers. This was fine and worked alright but when I disabled it I was left with a broken ENB. The cyan color was filling my screen when I have ENB enabled. Ive reinstalled my ENB, Uninstalled 3D vision Drivers, Reinstalled 3D vision drivers, I'm only able to play my game with ENB disabled now or I get a nasty Cyan color overlaying my screen. All I know for sure is this was caused by Anaglyph 3D and it only appears with ENB enabled so it must have effected something ENB uses "since its been reinstalled entirely" I'm praying I don't need to reinstall Skyrim. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/919001647871826622/7338D7D10F885F8DC0B27699BA1EA198E2EECAFD/ Does anyone know what could have caused this or how to fix it?
  14. There's no evidence they didn't turn into big fluffy stuffed animals and transport into the realm of cotton candy, but we don't know that either. Like everyone else, I really don't care what you do, but stop trying to justify it because you're just conflicting with every known bit of lore out there. Saying lore isn't lore because Todd Howard said it's not reliable isn't helping your case either. You would have been fine with this whole mod if you hadn't called it lore friendly and then tried to change everything we know about them. Wow.. nerd rage much?.. cool down.. Its my opinion and I made it clear from the start it was. This is your opinion but you know what? its not your mod and this is semi lore friendly like it or not there is nothing about this thats totally off the wall in lore given the history of TES. Your taking my view to a huge extreme when I have plenty of points to show there could be misinformation in TES and bethesda could be going a different way with them. But at the end of the day everyone here is blasting my mod for small reasons in the big picture. Your the types that drive developers crazy when bethesda releases a new game and has hords of no life fanboys flip out about the smallest changes they make. I'm calling this a lore friendly mod weather you like it not because you didn't make it. Your not the one putting together the meshes/texture/idea .. making custom normal maps and spec maps .. your just a fanboy with his opinion. This is mine .. Respect it. btw this only applies to the prick I'm responding to .. the rest of you have been very respectful with your differing opinions ^-^ thank you You just earned a strike for that last remark. - TVD.
  15. you realize its in a BSA right? .. The Dawnguard BSA and not the Meshes BSA Edit: Yup.. checked .. I see it
  16. Ive said to many times before.. there is no solid evidence that the "dwarven" race isn't dwarven .. Todd howard has said himself that unless they put it in a quest and explain it in detail its not exactly lore. Many of the books found in the world and stories of lore are thrown out in the next game. Snow elves for example have changed a lot from what was shown in glimpses of previous games. So all this evidence of their name "dwarven" being due to giants thinking they were small just isnt enough proof .. This is a simple explination for why they are average hight in morrowind but a better explination for all of it is that they were not going to build a new skeleton rig for a race that only appear as a half man and a ghost xD I mean really .. its just a time consuming process so they wrote it off. Look at modern argonians and khajiit .. they didnt want to make new meshes for the feet or restrict them like they did in morrowind so they changes the look of them drastically. Its part of game design. And theres a good chance the next title might bring the digigrade legs back. Its not about breaking or rewriting lore its about making a character in a game with as little stress as possible so you can move on and work on bigger details. Even the facegen limitations of using the same mesh for every head shows in oblivion from the other two games.. a LOT of what we see is due to game design and not lore design. Bethesda makes physical changes constantly and update every race in the game as they go .. I truly believe the dwarven race was originally intended to be dwarven but they were not going to waste time on a minor aspect of a huge game. http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/images/15073-2-1202044166.jpg http://images.wikia.com/elderscrolls/images/e/e8/Spriggan_detail.jpg Next .. Lets look at the skyrim art book "which I own" they say right in the pages that the look of the faces on the mechs are based on what the dwarves would look like "oddly toklen like if you ask me" its why I went with the woodelf head shape and not the dark elf. its closer to a human head and the head of the statues and machines in skyrim than what we see in morrowind. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb57886/elderscrolls/images/a/a9/Dwemer_mask.jpg http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb57088/elderscrolls/images/b/b5/Dwemer_centurion.jpg Notice the stubby legs and long arms/torso .. vary much a dwarf shape. Even their designs around the ruins look very close to classic dwarven design in lotr http://images.eonline.com/eol_images/Entire_Site/20101110//300.gimli.lr.121010.jpg You guys are looking at this from a "known lore" perspective and not a Bethesda and game design perspective .. Todd has made it clear the books mean nothing and carry no weight in the real lore of the game.. and Bethesda has made it clear with their own updates that physical looks are mostly a tech/time constraint and not a true example of what the final picture of the races are.
  17. So .. Ive been working on some more original details to add to the race.. Starting with Skin Tone and some new metal ear clamps.. http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu322/UberNiz/Capture4.png Here is a full shot of the females btw.. http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu322/UberNiz/Captured-1.png Custom Skeleton for wider hips and thicker thighs than the males too.
  18. Seriously not going to waste my time on a dunmer with different stats .. Seriously.. how boring would that be? I wouldnt bother
  19. Hoping to explain it somehow .. They were probably sent to a deadric relm right? Its not exactly impossible to come and go from deadric worlds as any traveler in nirn can tell you xD As far as lore of them being tall .. Lore is constantly wrong and conflicted .. Bethesda says this themselves .. the word of mouth in tamriel is horrible x3. add to that the fact no one has seen them since glimpses in morrowind I would say its not a stretch at all to have them be short.
  20. Not going to get that in one mod .. Should try searching before posting a new topic like this .. There is probably a billion other people looking for a "Better graphics" mod .. ands theres a million out there all for different things .. just go to the mod pages .. maybe look over the top list .. and search around yourself.
  21. No you cant subfolder the files Yes you can use multiple methods to install mods as long as the mods don't conflict with each other.
  22. Its been awhile since Ive been active in the forums but Ive been active in the CK for months and have come up with a lot of ideas and mods for my personal game. Ive decided to make a mod for the community to show my support and use some of what Ive learned. Misspelled Dwemer in Title ~_~... Woops So with my first uploaded mod I wanted to make something I felt the game was missing .. We have three elves .. Four Humans "Boring" .. an Orc "Yes I know its an mer too" and Two Beast Races .. But I wanted this to be lore friendly of course. So I decided to look into the Dwemers "Dwarven Race" as a new unique race for the game .. But sadly .. I found myself face to face with another freaking elf :I But wait! They are called Dwarfs right? <_< and lets look at other races and creatures that have changed over the series development The argonians and Khajiits have changed more than most .. Not just graphically but physically have been updated as the series moved forward. I think if Bethesda added the Dwemer back tomorrow we wouldn't see ANOTHER elf .. We would see something unique in the series. Maybe not what Ive come up with but certainly not what was shown in glimpses of morrowind .. a dunmer looking ghost and a fat guy on a mechanical spider :/ Ive Made the race .. Custom Skeletons for males and female .. Set up custom Skin Material sets for more detailed tweaks as I go.. I'm nearly ready for release and looking for opinions :U and not about the bloody stature! I'm making them short ~_~ Not just releasing ANOTHER elf race. http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu322/UberNiz/Capture-1.png Update: Females are just about done.. Males Still need more work http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu322/UberNiz/Capturedsd.png For the custom Normal maps and Texture Maps should I add Mechanical aspects to the bodies? Ive seen some interesting fan art of Mechanical elven ears on them. How about body paint? or maybe oil on their arms and hands? Throw some ideas at me ^-^ And if you really REALLY think making them small is a bad idea and have multiple pieces of lore to prove it then please let me know .. Keeping in mind small bits mean nothing since the race has been gone from nirn for such a long time the stories have mostly become fairy tails.
