  1. Arthmoor's Alt-Start mod, that. I like that it gives you a whole range of role-playing options to start, all the way from being a noble to being robbed and destitute with only the few rags you're wearing. (Hmm, I did wonder if anyone had done a beggar mod where you just hang around cities and cadge septims. Perhaps you could pass on some rumours in exchange.) For some reason, Live Another Life is on Nexus for Skyrim and AFK for Oblivion. I was thinking about totally necessary mods, like the hotkeys. Of course, there is one plug-in that takes precedence over all. We have old bugs fixed but new one to replace them, see: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Remastered_Changes#Bugs_Introduced And that's just in this brief time. So, the very first need is the Unofficial Oblivion Remastered Patch. Though I expect we might see an official fix for some of these, it won't be complete. (I don't really need to wish too much tho, I know there'll be good people working on it right now.)
  2. This is an even farther stretch, tho we can hope. In particular, the one I first thought of is Elsweyr Anequina, now on AFK: https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/files/file/2170-elsweyr-anequina/ Possibly the greatest 'new land' mod. And it has plenty of quests - It even has mods of its own, some here on Nexus. But I wouldn't expect to see that turn up for ObRem in a hurry, well it's up to Iliana, but I don't think it would be a small job. Of course, there are many other fine examples like the TWMP province mods, none of them minor tasks. [Minor note. but relevant to this topic: no matter what I do with the oblivion.ini file, I have not been able to disable borders, which is usually the very first .ini tweak I'd apply. Altered both the Documents and the Steam instances, but no luck. Wonder if anyone else has had the same issue. I'd really like to take a look at those empty lands out there...]
  3. Oh, lots of great suggestions. I especially endorse The Lost Spires, but I do also like the smaller quest mods like the House Of Healing. So so many, though, hope they come to be easily installed/ported or the original authors will dive in. I have one non-quest mod I hope to repackage, but still learning... Furryfreedom: Well, that's another one we could hope to be ported. Trade & Commerce: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/39255 14 years old and has two add-ons. It does all the things you ask and very well indeed IMO.
  4. Definitely, SM! And LAME, come to that, I'm quite maximalist when it comes to spells. The two can be made to work together.
  5. It's early days, so I won't bang on about Unique Landscapes/Better Cities/Oscuro's etc etc etc. I tend to focus on functionality before appearance, especially since we don't need so many of the texture mods the old game does. So, to focus on just one thing that would make an immediate big difference to me: Enhanced Hotkeys: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/34735 Though, of course, this requires OBSE. I'm not sure right now whether the OBSE we've just been issued (amazing work to get that out so fast!) is at all adequate for the job. I'm working up to how to mod/convert mods for this exciting new world, maybe I'll find out. (I'm so used to using this, playing without it feels like I have one hand tied behind my back.)
  6. I recommend Idle Dialogues These lines are all in the original, but were never implemented, so the mod puts them back. Here's a few... 'Do I drop the sweetroll or hand it over and come back later? Dunno....' 'It just stood there, holding its tail and whispering. What did it say?' 'Goblins and rats. Seems like they're everywhere. I'm just waiting for the giant spiders to show up.' Plenty more of them, too,
  7. Adense Epic Dungeon has some pretty creepy bits: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/27520/
