  1. Go back in, and click on the NPC's, Don't open them up to be edited, just to highlight them. Then press ctrl f4. A box will pop and ask you a question. Can't remember the wording, but click yes. It'll make a new DDS file and folder with your changes. A really drawn out way of doing things. Only problem is the lips will be the default light pink color. I don't know how to fix that. I was looking for a fix for that, and seen this, decided to give you a hand.
  2. "set timescale to XX" console command works. Most Oblivion/Fallout3/Fallout New Vegas/ commands work in Skyrim.
  3. Not that I've found. I've tried "shownamemenu" It doesn't work unlike Oblivion, F3, or New Vegas. Neither does "Showbarbermenu" But if you got the CK, you can make your character in the CK. My Character is Nord/Female/preset 2, with the second hair style, the chin shortened a bit, skin tone one notch darker, weight all the way down, and brow ridge depth all the way down. When I start a new game, all I got to do is select female, move the preset slider one notch to the right, and type in her name.
  4. I believe he means the quest journal, and I agree, it's breaks immersion.
  5. Calm down man, it's fake. Although nanobears would have been funny.
  6. I had the no soul dragon before. Not sure why, I felt ripped off, "Give me your soul! Please? No? ok. :( "
  7. I miss that too. It would give us the How and why of things.
  8. Lydia. I made her essential with the NPC editor program. She looks pretty good already, and doesn't say much, but it's always funny to hear "Oh, look a cave. I wonder what's inside?" When we all know it's filled with 5,000 year old dragur with gold coins in their non existent pockets, with Tiber Septim's head on them. About that, where did they get those new coins? Do they have jobs or something when not waiting on hapless adventurers?
  9. I played as a vampire for a good while. It's easy to stay stage 1. Just bring a follower along where ever you go. The only thing I didn't like was how the skin tone looked like somebody beat the crap out of my character. But yeah, the vampire lore is almost completely gone from the Elder Scrolls. Garlic does nothing. The sun doesn't make them explode into ash, Basically at stage 1, it's just a bit uncomfortable. Wooden stakes? They're not even in the game! I bet silver doesn't actually do anything to Werewolves. I'm just glad there aren't any Werebears, that would be stretching it.
  10. I'm a sneak battle archer as well, with a Breton! My bow is not enchanted, I don't use armor, so you learn to sneak real quick. The only time I use a one handed weapon is in Cidna mine, I kill the forsworn's leader with a couple of pickaxes.
  11. A few hours into the game, some thalmor bumrushed my character on the road from Riverwood to Whiterun. I hadn't even seen them in this playthrough. They weren't with a prisoner, they attacked me at first sight. So, I killed them all, and found a letter of execution or something to that effect, with my character's name in it. Now tell me what did I do to them? I cross the border into Skyrim, get ambushed by Tullius, nearly get my head chopped off in Helgen, Saved by a dragon, go to Riverwood, leave Riverwood and then Boom the Thalmor want me dead. I must of stolen their sweetroll or something. But that kinda sort of provides a possible backstory. Maybe I did something in Cyrodiil to them, like wiped out one of their patrols, and tried to escape by crossing the border.
  12. N'Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis! If you know what it says, it's a good laugh but my favorite has to be Purloined Shadows. The end is great.
  13. I'm running at 60 fps everywhere, with the graphics set on high, fxaa on, and each slider turned up just a notch or two higher than normal. AA is being handled by the gpu itself, (that got rid of the blue lines around my characters hands/weapon, and sped the game up). AF on 8 and I'm using Tesval, skyboost actually slowed it down. The only place I get crashes is on the road from Whiterun to Ivarsted, so I tend to avoid it. I was actually surprised by the performance I get, I tested my pc on system requierments lab before I bought Skyrim, and it showed my pc was barely over minimum, but it runs so smooth. I think the secret to my performance is I use the original driver that came on the disc. I've updated the driver after getting skyrim, and it was bad. 10fps tops. I removed the driver, uninstalled the card, and reinstalled it with the original driver, and it was back. Also I run the barest of the bare minimum amount of processes. At idle I'm running 22 processes, with the game, 24, one is the game, and the other that stram overlay crap. My pc is run of the mill and 3 years old, except for the gpu, that's new. Amd Athlon something or other processor 3.0GHz 3 gigs of ram ATI Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 1gb, overclocked all the way up.
  14. Rabbit, read this. Sites like the Nexus could very well be doomed if this passes. Remember Steam is owned by Vivendi Universal. My link
  15. 1 STEAM took 27 hours to download. If it would have been old school (full game on the disk), the install time from the disk could of been 30 minutes tops. 2 Horrible ingame AA, Bethesda, tell me something, you didn't notice all the blue lines around the weapons and hands?! 3 No depth to the followers, In New Vegas each follower had their own personality, here you got a very bland NPC tagging along getting in your way. 4 Short quests, tiny quest lines. Oblivion's guild quests had 16 quests for each guild. Here we got 5, maybe 6 quests. The Civil War quests is nothing but go to this fort, clear it out, come back, and I'll have you repeat it in a different fort. 5 Raidiant Story seems to do what ever it wants. This morning I ran into a Thalmor patrol, first one I've ran into this play through. The leader guy had a Execution note on him. The poor sap to be executed? ME! WTF? All I've done so far was see Jarl Balgruff, and bought Breezehome. 6 It doesn't matter what you do, nothing actually changes. 7 the UI is terrible. 8 The Marriage thing is a joke. 9 No swearing, not even 1100's European style curses. (Part of Americana I guess, ultra violence, but you can't say a dirty word cuz that's bad) 10 Severe lack of RP'ing in parts. 11 Please for the love of the Divines take out the "Arrow in the knee" line in one of the upcoming patches. It's terrible. 12 Figuring out which Dragur is going to wake up and attack you is too simple. 13 Having to wait 2 or more months for the Creation Kit, the quicker it gets out, the quicker WE can fix the game. 14 And where is Mithril armor? I liked it in Oblivion, and expected it to be back in Skyrim. What I do like about Skyrim: 1 25sq miles of land to explore 2 The Northern lights 3 Being able to make your own weapons and armor 4 Chopping wood 5 The dogs are cute 6 The bookcases 7 M'aiq 8 The characters look better 9 Whiterun, I just like that town. 10 When I discovered that on some tree stumps, there's ants crawling all over them.
  16. You can request a song, and the bard will play the drum instead. Turns out the prison in Markath is very easy to escape from. In some places it's perfectly normal for the river currents to go sideways instead of down river. It's supposed to be very cold in Skyrim, yet nobody owns a coat. Lastly, Dragurs are supposed to be ancient nords, that lived thousands of years ago, why do they all have new gold coins with Tiber Septim's head on them?
  17. frostbite spiders, magic anomalies, slaughter fish.
  18. I've never had ChristieCOS Rifle, so I can't say anything about that, but any weather mods should be dead last in the load order. I actually use two weather/lighting mods, URWLNV, and Nevada Skies together, in that order. What version of NVSE do you have? Every time Beth/Obsidian patched the game, they had to make a new version of NVSE. Might try getting the latest version. Hope that helps.
  19. Lonesome Road was the right way to end it. Ulysses' character was way more than I was expecting, expected him to be just an evil character, have a gun fight with him, and that was it. Second Place for me was Old World Blues. So funny, in a bizarre twisted way. Borus really doesn't like Richie Marcus. The outdoor intercom transmissions are great, and I can't leave out all your appliances, and your brain! Is it me or does it sometimes sound like Stewie Griffin? The only thing I didn't like about it was the sheer number of enemies. Honest Hearts, great scenery, wasn't expecting Graham to be so nice, but the quests were far too short, and I wanted to explore the plane wreckage. Dead Money. If you want to spend ten hours digging around, there's some neat info, but that's about it. The gold bars don't even look gold, look like copper, and a gold bar that says 10 oz on it doesn't weigh 35 pounds. Someone at Obsidian needs to go back to school and learn their cipherin'. But, to get the full story of Elijah, Christine, Ulysses, and you, you have to play all four in order.
  20. Big MT for me too. It does feel like another planet. It's just fun. Gotta love the Toaster, and Dr. Klein's intercom transmissions when you're outside, and the brains' ineptitude. I just don't like the amount of enemies outside. It's like every two seconds a lobotomite, Cyber dog, or nightstalker is coming at me. Waste a lot of ammo on them.
  21. NCR. Why? They beat the Legion once, the Brotherhood, the Khans, Jackals, Vipers, and finished off the Enclave in the west.
  22. I know I mod too much when I look at the clock at the bottom of the screen and realize I've been up all night and have to be at work in 10 minutes.
  23. This should help some. It's a timeline of all the known events in Fallout. It helped me a lot. My link
  24. I can't stand Wayne Newtons' voice, so I don't bother with listening even though I like what he says, some of it is pretty funny. Mr. New Vegas is only a voice. There's no way to get to him, and there's not even a character. Sort of like Margaret in FO3 if Three Dog gets killed. He could of at least been a console like M.A.R.G.o.T. in Broken Steel.
  25. I hardly ever go to Red Rock, he caught up to me there once. I always liked it when he showed up at the observation tower on top of Helios One.
