    Metro 2033

I still can't remember :teehee: by the way, I may have different sounds (I play Russian version) What's the name of file? (there are numbers in the end) maybe I'll manage to determine the song
  2. Is Comodo Internet Security free? I use Comodo Firewall for a long time (it's free), but I've never tried CIS.

    Metro 2033

AFAIK all the OST was written by Russian composers (a group of them named Anthesteria - they've already written music for several games) working in dark ambient, industrial and noise styles. Also there are some fragments of other songs from different authors (just for fun and to emphasize the atmosphere - however, it's Moscow subway after 3rd World War) Market station - do you mean Chapter 2 where Bourbon appears? Can't remember what played there..
  4. Time is an additional measure invented by human to help him understand physical processes )) and yes, people have always been interested in how long their lives could last - and many things are associated with this thought. So time can't exist without human )) if there is no human, who will care about time?
  5. Long ago on 8bit consoles there was a game "Excitebike" - the first motocross I've ever played )) It looked like this http://sydlexia.com/imagesandstuff/nes100/excitebike.png Funny game it was)) it reminds me of my childhood even more than "Rock'n'Roll Racing". A real contrast with modern "MX vs. ATV" :)

    Metro 2033

Yes, it reminds of Fallout because of its post-apocalyptic atmosphere. Subway can be the same as Vaults (if it's secured properly from outer world). Why not?
  7. I've never had a SNES actually, only Sega ) but even on Sega this game is great IMHO )
  8. A novel based on Fallout universe? I dream of it! I like reading (more than watching movies or playing games), so it's a great idea (from my point of view) :) I'll surely read your story :)
  9. Now I'm reading "Metro 2034" - it's a sequel to the book "Metro 2033" on which the game is based. I don't know if there are any translations from Russian to other languages (the book is not so old), but it would be great if there were some.
  10. The only way to stop trolls is to stop feeding them, but not everyone understands it (lots of people always think that "in this Internet somebody is not right" ). There is also an opportunity to troll them yourself, but chances are low unless you know the subject of conversation very well.
  11. I found an interesting thought in one book. Time exists while people can watch it - count hours and minutes, see day and night changing and so on. But when you find yourself in a place where watching time is impossible for some reason (e.g. trapped underground with no light, no clock or anything to watch and count time) - time doesn't make sense anymore.
  12. I remember on Sega there was a game "Roсk'n'Roll Racing" - it was a damn cool thing  with awesome MIDI-soundtrack (Black Sabbath, White Lion and other old Hard'n'Heavy bands) I wonder if anyone has this soundtrack (in MIDI exactly)

Great game! Unfortunately I can't play it on PC ('cause I need more powerful hardware), so I have to play it on XBox. But I'd like to get a PC version (using keyboard and mouse is more comfortable for me). Also now I'm reading the book on which this game is based. Awesome! :) maybe there are not as many horrible monsters as in the game, but human is still the most dangerous beast.

    DooM (DOS)

Anecdote (DOOM players will understand) A gamer dies. Devil appears before him and says: "I'll take you to hell, but you still have three last wishes". Gamer: "Well, OK. 1st - IDDQD, 2nd - IDKFA". Devil: "And what's the 3rd?" Gamer: "Ah, enough of it, let's go!" And then devil laughed and sent him to hell... on NIGHTMARE :)
  15. Thanks :thanks: could not remember which word is used in which country :) Added: Stop! Irish... and what about Scotch?
  16. And how did Americans find themselves in America? :) They got there from all over the world :) and from Scotland too. BTW Scotch whiskey and American whiskey are different. Personal experience :D it's like money - it may have identical names in some countries but different value.
  17. And yes, Russians really drink vodka. Exactly as Mexicans drink tequila or Americans drink whiskey. It's a national drink  Main thing is not to drink without measure
  18. I always drink tea with large amount of sugar ) and sometimes I don't eat anything else all day.
  19. haha  what do those interviewers want from little kids? They (kids I mean, not interviewers) all think that Santa really exists. So did I in my childhood (except several things - in Russia Santa has different name and he is less saint and more mythological). It's not strange. A stereotype from me (in order not to be off-topic) : British scientists are world famous for their absolutely useless and ridiculous researches and discoveries. So this story is a good example

Yep. In Russia nowadays almost everyone wants to become a lawyer or an economist. Why? There are plenty of them. Country lacks of qualified technicians.
  21. There is an opinion that all this stuff around the year 2012 is just a well-planned PR-action. How about that?

It's hard to judge which knowledge might be useful in further life, and which not. There is a thing called general education - it's a set of sciences society considered you must know. Or at least be aware of )) Further you can choose what you like. But it doesn't guarantee that you won't be working in other sphere...
  23. I haven't seen REALLY unreadable spelling here on Nexus - maybe just because English is not my native language so I don't know all rules... If you only knew what's happening on Russian forums... everyone writes as he wants. Looks like they've never been in school )) I know Russian pretty good so it's weird for me sometimes  but I still can understand them and do not try to correct - they don't care anyway.

Right. I think everyone knows our stereotypes :) vodka, bears walking on the streets, never ending winter and so on
