  3. good stuff so far Should I be breaking my models down like you for animation? I mean instead of the gun being one object it would be a few like barrel, trigger, etc as seperate pieces?
  4. Just updated my tracker blade thing http://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1151/images/10119-0-1456007569.jpg focusing on better modeling and mtl definition at the moment. Better textures to make a crappy model shine lol
  5. might be better to use my newer version of this knife. I did all the necessary maps and removed some ugly geometry from the blade http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10119/? I considered trying SubPainter before quixel but quixel looked easier to get into which is why I picked it. I have my workflow down pretty much now but have to focus on cleaner models and more material definition. neither of which are terribly hard to do I don't think. I do a lot of shortcuts but not too many so the model looks like utter .... Gotta find that happy middle ground EDIT: I looked at your last uploaded version of the blade. The textures folder has the diffuse in it but I said WTF out loud looking at what you did to it. Why is it stretching all over like that?
  6. well when I export it into ddo for painting I think it triangulates the model like that. It's either in Tris or quads when I'm done with it in Maya and yes, I made the tracker knife and this. I've made a ton of weapon models and uploaded to nexus. This Axe is actually a really old model, 2013 I think I took a stab at getting it textured

  11. I am need of an experienced modder who can show me how to get my stuff in game. I have the obj 3d model files and various texture maps completed. Ideally, show me how to make a "start to finish" weapon mod with new animations, esp creation etc. I already have 3d models and textures in mind made up. I have bodyslide, bae extractor, photoshop, 3d maya, 3dsmax, nifskope and FO4Edit installed I have a $25 googleplay card I will give away if we can collaborate on a project. If you want a Steam playcard instead I can arrange that as well.   14. back on topic... can this just copy and paste to use the combat knife anims? And I'm here if anyone has direct questions for me. I can make a proper spec map if that helps any workinng to learn quixel 2.0 and greatly speed up my workflow. thinking maybe architecture and furniture would be easier to bring into the game?
  15. Ok so whenever it comes out, how much simpler will it be to get stuff into the right formats and into the game itself? Just looking for a ball park... like a 10 minute thing to take an OBJ and a texture and convert it to a NIF and then rig it into the characters hands? Or a day long procedure?? Any clue or is it impossible to say? I mean the developer tools for previous games like Fallout 3, did they greatly speed up the process of modding or what exactly? And can we expect the same from F4?? Looking forward to the future
  16. grass is a single plane with alpha to see thru parts of the blades of grass... transparency I've not worked with alpha maps much but I know you need (or has tons of good support) Photoshop and Nvidias DDS plugin. Very simple install and then you can open the DDS files and mess with them. As for finding them use the BAE extractor and extract em somewhere like a desktop folder (its a lot of data so have free space!). After that use the HTML texture finder (also on the nexus). That is SUPER helpful because all you do is type in what you're looking for and it will direct you to the archives (that you now extracted!) with the files inside I don't know about the shadows thing, sorry Good luck
  17. If it was me I'd try to just backup my save and Data folder and move it somewhere else and just name it Save1. Then start your new game with other mods and stuff to overwrite the game directory Not sure how else to do it but sounds interesting!
  18. Is it a crash to desktop? Do you get any error message? Maybe trying uninstalling it and re-installing? Sorry, I have little experience with win10

  20. So you can use outfit studio for guns and other items? anyone have experience with that stuff?
  21. So I've been doing a bunch of reskins to weapons like the deliverer, hunting rifle, etc and people have been requesting these items as stand alone ESPs. I have zero knowledge of fo4edit or how to do this. Someone told me it's like 5 mins work so it's not like climbing mount everest My plan is to use my gold reskin of the 44 as a stand-alone weapon http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8223/ Whats the best place to start?   22. Ok well got some slightly better pics Is there a console command for stepping outside players view? I mean have the camera wandering around so I can capture pics of the player holding the weapon? Those would help a lot
