Buying a new computer and i have a question.
SineWaveDrox replied to KGXGamer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
That's similar to the card I use (mine's the 4GB model). It runs Skyrim around 55-60fps with good ENB. Some of the crazier ENBs can drop it to 30fps, but there aren't many that do that. I'm also using numerous texture packs as well. -
Scriptdragon - sudden trojan alert from avg
SineWaveDrox replied to littlekites's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Latest version is 1.9.32.0. I personally haven't become aware of any reasons to not use it. -
To upload the vanilla .bsa files would not be allowed, as far as I know. If you think you are having problems due to that bsa, then remove it from the folder (put it somewhere temporarily, without deleting it yet (just in case)) and do as Rabbit suggests, and verify the game cache through Steam. Once you have it redownloaded, you can delete the old one (no more need for it). Edit: Posted at just the same time as you posted. Glad it worked. Edit2: Misinterpreted prior post. Apparently it didn't work.

Just because a site has a ton of members does not mean that they will all want to chat. I, personally, have never used a chat thing, and probably never will. I'm just not a talkative person. It is quite possible that most of the members of this site spend their time playing the games that this site is built for, since that is, I'm sure, the primary thing that draws them to the site.

New User - site is poorly designed and annoying.
SineWaveDrox replied to ILogOnYourLogin's topic in Site Support
Response to your #1, 2, and 12. The Nexus mod manager includes a download manager, which, as far as I know, supports pause and continue. However, I do still prefer to use a different download manager, which works just as well. Response to #3. This prevents automated systems from coming through and downloading everything so that it can be reuploaded elsewhere without permission. Response to #4. DL speed will depend on your location relative to the server, as well as the demand on the server. Response to #6. As a premium member, there really isn't much that I can do that you can't. There's a couple additional servers, uncapped download speed (that I never manage to make use of, thanks to the terrible connection I have), and a less restrictive image section that gets maybe a dozen images per week. Not really worth paying for premium just for those things. I just view it as myself saying to them "Hey, I use your site. Like, a lot. Here's some cash so it stays around." Response to #7. The search used to not be drop-down. That was changed recently, due to a variety of reasons, none of which I can recall at the moment. I think it looks much cleaner, and actually having to click on something, I think people are more likely to realize that there is an advanced search option. As for the Login being a drop-down, can't say I've seen that. I haven't had to log in to the site for a long time. Response to #10. You can change that in your settings. -
Transferring modded save from PC to Xbox.
SineWaveDrox replied to 3DJutsu's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I've heard of transferring saves before, so as to keep backups and such, but as far as I can tell, what you are referring to is a modded save, which I believe would be considered console modding. -
Transferring modded save from PC to Xbox.
SineWaveDrox replied to 3DJutsu's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
To my knowledge, any discussion of transferring anything from PC (even just a save) that has been modified in any way would be considered console modding. Also, Relevant Link. -
Exactly what psavola said. Skyrim only runs through Steam. When the game initially launched, once it was activated in Steam, it could be run without Steam, due to an oversight or something. That was quickly patched though, so it is impossible to run 1.9 without Steam. Legally, anyway.

1HD Weapons on Back is what you are looking for I think.
-
If you don't know about it, then I would guess that it's not been changed. I've never seen a mod change it, so the only way that it would be changed is if you went into the console and changed it yourself. So that's almost certainly not the cause of your problem. Unfortunately, I don't know what else would cause it.
-
The second problem you mention is something that I've experienced before. In my case, it seemed to be caused by an altered value for the timescale variable. If you've done anything with that, perhaps try setting it to the default value of 20.

LE No Essential NPC (Like in Morrowind)!
SineWaveDrox replied to xevasz's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
I believe you can make essential NPCs killable by adding the following to the skyrim.ini: [GamePlay] bEssentialTakeNoDamage=0 That will allow you to actually damage and kill essential NPCs. The rest of what you want to do would be a bit more complicated. -
Need some help with UNP-UNPB body models
SineWaveDrox replied to florien's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Perhaps try installing just the base UNP body first, and see if that looks alright, and proceed from there with additional installations. Also, it may be helpful if you post an image of the problem you're having. -
Need some help with UNP-UNPB body models
SineWaveDrox replied to florien's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You'll need to install some sort of UNP compatible armor replacer as well, such as This One. What happens is, the texture for the UNP body gets applied to the body underneath the armor, so if the armor is not UNP compatible, it won't look right. -
If I remember correctly, that mod is only a replacer, and does not have a plugin file. Thus, you won't see it in the plugins section, but it will still affect the game.

I ment the colors to make them argonians look like D&D half dragons. Also your first link seemed broken, it goes to the newly loaded mods thread. I don't want to use the script extender. I've never had any good experence with any of the other ones for the Fallouts or Oblivion. With the number of mod authors that are requiring the script extender for their mods, you probably won't be able to avoid it for long (unless you don't use many mods). Nevertheless, if you do prefer to avoid it, then I would recommend going with the mod that StuartSmiles linked to (the first link, the one that doesn't work). It's Extended Sliders, which is the predecessor to Racemenu. It won't allow quite the same range of color options as Racemenu, but I think it will allow you to do what you're wanting to do.
-
For the skin tones, I recommend Racemenu. It allows a much higher level of customization than the default race menu. One of the images for the file demonstrates this on an Argonian: http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/thumbnails/29624-1-1357776059.jpg (click for full-size)

I've used quite a few ENBs over the past year. I was using Zoners High Performance ENB 2_0 for quite a while, I liked the colors that it gave. However, my current favorite is Wintertide - Fantasy ENB. The lighting works really well for how I like the game to look, especially indoors. I also like the color it gives, good saturation without going too far. All around, I guess I'd just have to say that I like the way it looks, though I am lacking the eloquence to describe further the reasons why. It also has almost no impact on my framerate. I'd highly recommend looking through the screenshots on its download page, and if you want more examples, many of my recent screenshots on my Nexus profile were done using that ENB, with only a couple of tweaks (nothing really noticeable if you don't know specifically what to look for). Many people have had great success with K ENB, though I had some issues with the adaptation being too extreme. Judging by how much people like it, and the screenshots they are able to produce, I'm guessing that it was simply conflicting with some mod that I installed, but I couldn't figure out which one. Definitely worth a look. You may also want to go look through the Skyrim Images and see what looks good to you there, and find out which ENB the uploader uses.
-
Not sure about your load order or incompatibilities ( I see lots of mods there that I've never used), but I recently read of someone else having a similar issue. They were using the 1.8 Skyrim.exe with the 1.9 update.esm and update.bsa. If you've done anything with those files, that could potentially be a cause. If you haven't done anything with those, you might try having Steam verify the game cache.
-
Well I am currently using 146 mods, and the game runs stable (until I do something stupid with console commands...). I think I read somewhere that the max number of plugin files is 255. If I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me.
-
@vashshadow It does indeed appear to be down, as it does not load for me, and downforeveryoneorjustme.com seems to think it's down as well. It is interesting how many mods require it now, and that is why I make sure not to let Steam update Skyrim until I have downloaded every mod that will need updating, as well as the script extender, and Script Dragon. @ghostikailo No one wants to "risk losing their nexus account" because you only get one. If you get banned, you're not allowed to just make another one (and you're not allowed to make a second even if you're not banned). If they find out someone has bypassed a ban, they will ban the person again. And they are quite good at figuring that out.

I have that happen occasionally with Skyrim nexus. Usually refreshing the page fixes the problem.
-
As far as I know, the only fix available currently is to revert back to the previous update, if you happen to have backups of the relevant files.
