  1. If I remember correctly, that mod is only a replacer, and does not have a plugin file. Thus, you won't see it in the plugins section, but it will still affect the game.

I ment the colors to make them argonians look like D&D half dragons. Also your first link seemed broken, it goes to the newly loaded mods thread.

For the skin tones, I recommend Racemenu. It allows a much higher level of customization than the default race menu. One of the images for the file demonstrates this on an Argonian:

I don't want to use the script extender. I've never had any good experence with any of the other ones for the Fallouts or Oblivion.

With the number of mod authors that are requiring the script extender for their mods, you probably won't be able to avoid it for long (unless you don't use many mods). Nevertheless, if you do prefer to avoid it, then I would recommend going with the mod that StuartSmiles linked to (the first link, the one that doesn't work). It's Extended Sliders, which is the predecessor to Racemenu. It won't allow quite the same range of color options as Racemenu, but I think it will allow you to do what you're wanting to do.

  3. I've used quite a few ENBs over the past year. I was using Zoners High Performance ENB 2_0 for quite a while, I liked the colors that it gave. However, my current favorite is Wintertide - Fantasy ENB. The lighting works really well for how I like the game to look, especially indoors. I also like the color it gives, good saturation without going too far. All around, I guess I'd just have to say that I like the way it looks, though I am lacking the eloquence to describe further the reasons why. It also has almost no impact on my framerate. I'd highly recommend looking through the screenshots on its download page, and if you want more examples, many of my recent screenshots on my Nexus profile were done using that ENB, with only a couple of tweaks (nothing really noticeable if you don't know specifically what to look for).

Many people have had great success with K ENB, though I had some issues with the adaptation being too extreme. Judging by how much people like it, and the screenshots they are able to produce, I'm guessing that it was simply conflicting with some mod that I installed, but I couldn't figure out which one. Definitely worth a look.

You may also want to go look through the Skyrim Images and see what looks good to you there, and find out which ENB the uploader uses.

  4. Not sure about your load order or incompatibilities ( I see lots of mods there that I've never used), but I recently read of someone else having a similar issue. They were using the 1.8 Skyrim.exe with the 1.9 update.esm and update.bsa. If you've done anything with those files, that could potentially be a cause. If you haven't done anything with those, you might try having Steam verify the game cache.

It does indeed appear to be down, as it does not load for me, and downforeveryoneorjustme.com seems to think it's down as well. It is interesting how many mods require it now, and that is why I make sure not to let Steam update Skyrim until I have downloaded every mod that will need updating, as well as the script extender, and Script Dragon.

No one wants to "risk losing their nexus account" because you only get one. If you get banned, you're not allowed to just make another one (and you're not allowed to make a second even if you're not banned). If they find out someone has bypassed a ban, they will ban the person again. And they are quite good at figuring that out.

  6. Mods that have themes from, or are inspired by, other games are perfectly fine. The mods you are referring to were very likely ripped if they were removed. The mesh files may not be initially compatible, but there are always ways to convert them. In order to have Halo themed stuff legally, it would all have to be made from scratch, without using any resources from the actual Halo games, other than for reference and inspiration.

  7. When I sit down and take the time to assemble an armor, I usually have something quite specific in mind for a specific character. Due to that, I tend to put it together for one specific body type only, and no others. Though, I used the word "assemble" instead of "create" since I don't really have the skills to create anything completely from scratch, so most of what I "make" is just pieces of other armors I've downloaded that I've managed to coerce and trick Blender into bending into the shape I want. Most of the armors I end up with never actually make their way online, not even in a screenshot, and the only two I've uploaded are a conversion of an armor from CBBE to UNP (after reading a request for such), and a modification of another person's armor that they allowed me to upload.

In the future, when I have the time to really sit down and learn how, I do plan on creating actual original armors, and I suspect that my feelings on this subject will be the same as they are now, which are as follows: The creation of mods, not just armors, but just mods in general, should be done primarily for the enjoyment of the creator; the upload of the mod is simply to allow others who would enjoy the same thing as the author, the chance to do so (you may point out an inconsistency in my thoughts here, as I stated earlier that I uploaded an armor conversion. However, I was wanting an armor like it for UNP, but did not know that it had existed at all for any body, and, thus, the request acted as a catalyst, not the single cause). Thus, following that thought process, I will only create armor for the body that my character is using (currently UNP for all but one of my characters). However, it is quite likely that I will allow people to do whatever they want with it as far as conversions. But again, these are just my thoughts, and they are quite subject to change.

  8. I don't really know the technical side of how they work, but basically what they do is modify the way the game looks, through a variety of effects, such as anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, bloom, etc. The performance hit varies depending on the settings. Without ENB, I can typically play at 60 FPS. With the ENB I use now, I sometimes drop to 50. A few of them have dropped me to the 10-20 range. Really it varies with the settings, as well as the capabilities of your computer. Right now, my favorite is Wintertide ENB. I like this one because of the colors it gives, and the scenery just looks better than with many ENBs I've used, and it is one of the few ENB settings that I have found to work well with the blue skin of my primary character.

  9. As a general rule, I've always assumed that it is best to not disable mods (or dlc) during a playthrough. I've also read in several places that it is best to start a game with everything enabled that you plan on using, though I assume that enabling something later is less problematic than disabling something later. I do remember in Oblivion, disabling dlc and then re-enabling it later would sometimes cause issues with progression in the quests involved. Whether that will be the case with Dragonborn, I can't say, but I always try to stay on the safe side, and disable as few things as possible (with the exception being mods that have scripts that can be terminated in-game before deactivation and removal of the mod).

  10. For the poses, you need some sort of pose mod, such as Puppeteer Master or Pretty Female Idles. For the angles, use the console command TFC to use the flying camera. Enter the command again to return to normal. Or use TFC 1 to freeze time and use flying camera. Also, if you want to take screenshots without the UI getting in the way, use the command TM. It will get rid of all UI elements, including console. Type it again to turn UI back on.

  11. @moosa32365

If you use those armors, what will happen is that the armor and the body included with the armor mesh will have the UNP shape, but will use whatever body textures you have installed, in your case CBBE. Thus, the textures will likely not line up, and will look odd, and quite possibly bad. The armor suggested by korun would be a much better choice if you are intent on using a CBBE body.
