No offence to any mod creator but money is not the only thing people can contribute. -

The cost to get into gaming and modding will become extremely high. Not to mention many mods are co-dependent on 2 - 3 or more other mods, all of which will probably need to be purchased. -

"...we’re looking at some modders making more money than the studio members whose content is being edited." They actually said this??? You do realise with that statement they are probably saying that modders will be doing more WORK than the original developers. Do people not see this? -

I have been thinking about this and I feel, if and when this is rolled out again (cuz it probably will), how do we know games won't be bundled with three swords, two shields and one player home... the rest you have to make yourself or buy. I think if we have paid for mods they should really only be a very select few that make it to that prestige. Donations are great for any situation but many of the mods actually worth buying took a couple of years to appear. Mainly because of the bugged out state of the original game, let's not forget that some mods took a while to fix in between Bethesda official patches. This to and fro of responsibility could just destroy the whole idea of paid for mods in the end anyway... -

Unfortunately there are those that do take things at surface value and do not question and challenge what is imposed upon us. Anyway it is late/early, and I'm knackered myself so I'll have to talk to peeps tomorrow perhaps? Cheers for all. SNB -

I completely agree that the market would level out, but Vavletheda would have been exploiting people until that happened. Which could have taken a long time. Only being able to refund one mod every seven days was f'ing nuts as well! My other major gripe? Paying hard working authors in bloody coupons, c'mon guys we cannot eat Wallet points! -

In response to post #24780389. #24780544 is also a reply to the same post. This whole thing felt like a data collection exercise. I agree, and the whole card they played with "we listened to you" I do not buy either... Hrmph! BUT I do believe, even if it was a arse wipe way of doing it, I somehow hope it will all turn out better than Microsoft or EA could ever achieve. Maybe I'm just disillusion, but I put it down to naive hope :) -

Some mods can destroy and corrupt save games too, unintentionally. I remember Imaginator, didn't find that one out for months then BAM! Save bloat and no more save game for you! EDIT: Its fixed now btw and is an awesome mod.

Please read the Creation Kit EULA in full. Bethesda has the final say on this. -

In response to post #24778634. While I would prefer some of the other payment/donation systems already suggested on the threads, if we had a gun to our head and HAD to involve Steam in any way then the percentages is the easiest thing to negotiate. Real problem for me and (I hope I can speak for a few others) is author and user protection. And that my friend, is gonna be where the real debate between parties begins... -

In response to post #24776709. Sorry mate definitely NOT being sarcastic, I'm just a little cynical sometimes. Can't believe that comes over in a written message. What a weekend or self-realisations :D I know what you mean, this hit me like a brick in the face, even if it was somewhat inevitable with all the totally amazing mods, content, guides and tools that people provide here. I feel like this is our Workshop ;) My advice would be to hang tight, hunt for alternative mods that do similar things, you'll be amazed what you find when you go into some of the undiscovered gems! Many people here just can't not mod. Nope just can't not do it. Me for one, although nothing I dare try release :P Cheers and here is to the Nexus. Forever. -
