  1. want a place to buy some fancy accesoires? jeweler nearly done and after that only 1 more shop to go :) after that i am going to fine tune stuff.
  2. most shops are in place. now i need to add the vendors and their houses.
  3. no delay in your release date? awesome! guess i will build a new modlist then and delete mods that yours makes obsolete :)
  4. The Solitude blacksmith now has a smelter. Additionally the Castle Dour courtyard has been largely upgraded visually as well as in its functionality.
  5. finished the blue palace last night and will now move on to the large villas on the avenue leading up to the palace.
  6. short update: i have a new computer now which is much faster, so video quality should increase. also, as this was my first ever mod some things do not seem right to me now that i learned a lot in the creation kit. i will redo the mod from scratch and will modify the existing nernies solitude mod. it will be much cleaner and will take just as much time as fixinng it. also my bachelor thesis needs to be written, so my time that i have left for modding is somewhat short.
  7. i use windows 10 since the first preview was made public half a year ago. never had trouble playing heavily modded skyrim :)
  8. the mod will work with remodeled interiors and exteriors as long as vanilla markers (x, furniture, idle etc.) are just moved and not deleted, correct? that means it should be compatible with ETaC, interior mods and so on, right?
  9. yeah, i never donated until today. but the recent change let me think that i should do my part to keep the community alive by providing financial appreciation for mod authors. also i chose 2 large mods because they took thousands of hours of work. but please, everyone: do support smaller authors also, even if it is just a dollar. the appreciation is greater than you think!
  10. as addon, sure no problem. our mod is free to modify for bugfixes, patches, addons! as of now our focus are not playerhouses, sorry.
  11. In light of recent events on the steamworkshop and also here on the nexus I would like to start a movement where people spend a small amount of money on their favourite 2 mods in their loadorder. This is so that mod authors feel appreciated not only from nice comments or the amount of endorsements but also financially. This hopefully prevents more mod authors from monetizing their mods on steam workshop. of course mods take time and effort to make. i have over 500 hours spend in the creation kit and have not gotten a single cent. but you know what? it is my hobby and i do not want money for it. however there are mod authors who spend not hundreds but thousands of hours into their mods and deserve some kind of financial appreciation. So choose two mods which you think deserve a donation. the author should not have monetized his mod on the workshop (otherwise it wouldnt make sense, right?) and should have donations on nexus enabled. My donations (I will not give the specific amount of money) go to missjennabee for her mod "expanded towns and cities (etac)" and kristakahashi for "interesting npcs".
  12. thank you for the offer. i also released a hearthfire housemod recently and know how to do it. the idea however is to not use any DLC, so that as many people as possible can use the mod.
  13. as we integrated nernies mod there will be a small cottage near katlas farm as playerhome.
  14. After playing tons of cities:skylines and somewhat neglecting modding I am now back! To celebrate the continous work on Better Cities here is an update on Solitude: Better Cities Solitude - Design philosophy Update as of 22. April 2015 “Set upon a great stone arch that towers above the mouth of the Karth River, the city is surrounded by the soaring peaks of the nearby mountains. Solitude is both a reinforced and breathtaking stronghold. It is the capital city of both Haafingar, Skyrim, and the Imperial Legion in Skyrim.¨¨The Elder Scrolls Wikia) The geographical surroundings with mountains to the northwest and west and the cliffs of the stone arch to the north and east limit Solitude in its space. The heavy fortifications with double gates to the south also limit city expansion. So why is it then that spacing between houses in Solitude, especially on the long avenue to the blue palace, is so inefficient? The villas house the rich and wealthy of the city and they want their space, yet so much more places in vanilla Skyrim are unused despite this design philosophy for the villas on the stone arch. Better Cities Solitude will not shrink the villas or move them closer together but instead finds spots that are previously unused and are perfect areas for additional buildings. For example: a bathhouse has been added next to the blue palace and a villa on the eastern side of the stone arch has been built into the city wall (like people actually built in the middle ages). As capital city, not only of Haafingar hold but the whole province of Skyrim, Solitude does not seem too well fortified or of significant military strength. Not only does it lack in military supplies and logistics but also in manpower of the Imperial Army (not counting guards). Better Cities Solitude improves the military feel of the capital of Skyrim by adding more fortifications, a supply depot, a military bar and a weapon issue to Castle Dour. As for the main gate of Solitude: it has been build higher and with wooden walkways for archers and now includes a large roundtower as bulwark. The smaller second gate now has a usable rock trap and additional smaller tower added to it. Not only military power but cosmopolitan and commercial connections throughout the province and Tamriel make Solitude the capital of Skyrim. Better Cities Skyrim adds more traders to Solitude, a new hotel for imperial travelers and merchants and a “Bureau of Census and Commerce”. Embassies for other races are also planned as new wings in the Blue Palace. Please keep in mind that by far not all changes and additions in the Better Cities Skyrim mod for Solitude have been named in this development blog.
  15. got a message from teammember moozilbee who did many smaller and larger tweaks to better cities solitude. also more pics!: http://i.imgur.com/qcUql1a.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/fOiewvG.jpg
  16. i now officially have more hours on steam in the creation kit than on skyrim itself!
  17. version 1.2 will come soon. check the changelog for what will come next! Skyrim crashed everytime in an exterior cell so i couldnt check my changes thus release delayed. I am currently redownloading Skyrim and the creation kit and hope to continue soon enough.
  18. Kinda Old? So a few days or weeks for a gigantic mod project is long time? Also check their forums, they post in in every dev video
  19. well i read about rigmor and now the mod has a quest? i might check it out. well i liked vilja but she looks so vanilla skyrim bad :D now the best female follower to my mind is arissa, though i have to agree i would love to combine looks from one mod with the other follower mod. i might start up the ck and fiddle around a bit  edit: holy f*** vilja got tons of features in recent updates and her voice seemed less annoying than i remember. i will give her a visual overhaul in the ck once i find out how to do it :D any requests for merges? which pretty nord followers visually fit vilja? i might do a patch or a full merge  @op i love arissa and vilja. arissas author is currently moving and arissas writer is getting married, but updates will come soon. vilja seems to get constant updates too. i do not like sofia, i think she would fit in the fallout universe better with her funny dialogue. also try interesting npcs, there are amazing followers, some more vanilla like and some with over thousand lines of dialogue.
  20. "I'm not sure why this is, since I didn't think NPCs made a difference to game performance. " lol they hammer your cpu and flood your ram. they are nearly the most cpu intensive things in the game.
  21. Yes :D it was seriously one of the best features. I dont know why they removed it. It was a clever way to feature the files. I would like to see this feature back. Its been long time since it was removed. Didnt even find the reason in the site news that time lol. as i said i didnt even notice they removed it so fast
