Thanks for the reply HadToRegister. I read that on the NFF page & do understand potential implications of forcing certain quest npc's to be followers, but the kicker is I am able to force recruit several quest npc's but not a simple guard? I walked out of Dragonsreach with most everyone I tried but not the maid or Proventus, I don't get the rhyme or reason to it.
Personally I do like a lot of the features of NFF too & tbh I have more followers added than I'll probably ever use, I feel like I should be able to destroy the balance if I so choose, "you've been warned". I kind of miss the catch up feature of ATF, I might just need to adjust my follow distance or something, always finding myself companionless on cross country adventures when I run into trouble.
Where this all stemmed from was a quest npc broke & refused to follow me, trying to force them it would say cannot be made follower, whereas previously they were added to a slot automatically. Pretty sure I sorted that as a conflict with another mod, but that still brings me back to let me recruit who I want and why one npc but not another.

Long time AFT user trying FF for the first time. Should I be able to force recruit npc's such as guards using FF? I cannot, other follower mods I can. Is this working as intended?
-
Well, you could open Xedit, find every listed faction then check in game one by one... I could of sworn there was a command for this but I don't see one either, maybe it was a mod I'd previously used. I'd try a mod if one exists.
-
I'm having this exact issue but with wayyy more mods. A few things to try are PrivateProfileRedirector https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18860 and clearing out old unnecessary saves, clearing steams download cache supposedly might help too.
Hello
I know, its old Thread, but can you update, which Mod was causing the long loading screen?
Graphics intense mods can increase in-game loading time.
-
My test MO profile with 125ish mods loads in less than 30 seconds (without 'most' of these mods) , my current one takes around 3 min, in game loading is fine. Also running PrivateProfileRedirector, moving it to the bottom (just before posting this) seemed to shave some off. 2:38 launch to load, ffr. I've also deleted steam download cache & deleted excess saves.
So if you HAD to cut some of these mods which would you pick or just to say ah-ha that mod makes launch slow? "Essentials" like fixes included just to be thorough, other mods I'm not willing to trim not included. Not running an ENB. Obviously the texture and graphic mods are sus, as well as any mod that has an ini file and having a metric butt ton of mods, not sure how much audio effects initial launch. I like the ambient sounds but they are probably first on the chopping block & I kind of like how things look so trying to graphical cuts to a minimum, underwater stuff maybe.

Sounds to me like you chose the physics option but aren't using the XPMSSE skeleton or haven't ran FNIS. Try reinstalling the skeleton if you already have it, make sure nothing overwrites it. Get FNIS if you don't have it

Check out Gamer Poets and Gopher on you tube for a plethora of info, always r.t.f.m., always keep is simple when troubleshooting by stripping your load down to the basics and suspected mods, Add 1-2 mods then test.

Everything you need is already in the base game, enchanting, alchemy and smiting.
-
Just a guess but you're using the AIO, did you install the bijin wives, npc's and war maidens?
-
Everything I've read either says subsurface scattering and ENB, which I'm not using ENB, or a clean reinstall should fix. Or cbbe fixes this, for women at least.
Yep
-
I've already done a clean install. It's on my unmodded game too. I've already read the s*** out of that page but thanks anyway. It's NPC's and the player character.
A: If it's with NPCs, then you've altered them in some way (even if it's just removing dirt or changing their weight), and need to generate facegen data.
I use MO so nothing should be changing my game dir and it's only the necks and not a dark face bug. Same character as 3rd pic https://ibb.co/HCTNmxh
Better lighting on Gerdur vanilla https://ibb.co/QQg6gxf
Barring all that, how do I use texblend to fix my vanilla game when texblend is for cbbe only? I'm not seeing a texblendlite, only texblend for LE.
This is the link for SE CBBE, yours is for LE

Look up vertical sync input, read all about it. Then the STEP graphics setting guide, adjust card settings accordingly. Then turn off triple buffering if you still have problems.
-
I have the same problem as HadToRegister but if I hover my mouse over my taskbar so it pops up SSE will launch correctly. Idk.
Get 64 bit versions of "programs".

Noticed a few neck seams playing modded, launch through steam, same. Verify files, run steam launcher, everyone has neck seams. Clean reinstall according to STEP, except I'm not sure if I'm supposed to delete the numbered texture bsa's in Data. Verify files again, launch through steam, everyone has neck seams. Load up MO2 with just unofficial patch, racemenu, cbbe, SOS, skyui, Alt start and xp32, STILL there.
Everything I've read either says subsurface scattering and ENB, which I'm not using ENB, or a clean reinstall should fix. Or cbbe fixes this, for women at least.First two pics are vanilla clean reinstall.
Cbbe & sos, front side on this one doesn't look too bad

Why is Solitude to Hjaalmarch not winter? Who's to say that the planet even has similar revolution around it's sun as earth. Or maybe it's summer in that hemisphere. I personally think skyrim is cold and snowy because of it's elevation. "Atmora, also known as Altmora or Elder Wood in Ehlnofex, is a frozen continent located far to the north of Tamriel" But how far north?

Maybe also try Steam>Settings>Downloads, Uncheck anything that has to do with updates. I always play off line too, but the times I do go online nothing auto updates unless I launch it.
On topic.. When I start reading up on a skse dependent mod after an update and read fixed 'this' and some other minor things it's like "ooooh shiny"
-
I just had this yesterday for whatever reason when I was in the middle of updating my mods. Could of been a download finished or only halfway updated. I Alt+Tab'd out and it was gone. Gtx 1080

You'd have to use a more specific console command for each setting, it's something like fDefault1stPersonFOV=XX; [general] and possibly "RefreshINI" console.
Your post count says you should know already, but make sure you are editing the correct INI's, Mod manager profile ini's.
I personally don't 'write only' my ini's
-
Do you mean the symbols carved next to doors and barrels like thief caches? I could be completely wrong but afaik decal quality only effects blood splatter, spell effects, war paint, etc. Still, I'd check my INI's. Using bethINI?

FIXED IT!!!!
For the small water hole -

For the ocean
Build your own patch of this, only removing occlusion culling for the area's you need

OR
edit fSplitDistanceMult=

I had no idea till I popped in the forums. A little heads up before MO starts throwing update warnings and I/you/they accidentally update without reading "skse 2.0.11", isn't a bad thing. A sticky wouldn't hurt, maybe save a few hundred people asking why their game isn't working in the coming week.

Check your frame rate, if it's over 60 try havok fixes or vsnc, try only the essential mods see if it persists
-
Try checking your skyrimprefs and cross reference them with STEP and whatever mods you use.

I can already force several quest npcs (see above link) including the Jarl. I'm somewhat locked in NFF with the wabbajack i'm using unless I want to drop some mods and patches.
