  1. Heh, everyone latches on the 'anime' word..I also said: Idealized, all-smooth, clean..Really just should have said 'out of picture'.. Here is something: most of Tamriel's environments are harsh..characters should be harsh. I am not a fan of dark fantasy either, before any strike down..but i like the fine line morrowind and skyrim's characters walk. So sounded my hope that it stays this way in future episodes and not gets shinyfied like they did with Oblivion.
  2. To each their own, yes. But then read the topic title, I just reacted- ".messed up our elves?" it's their elves to begin with. Then i read all the comments about 'fixing' them..So yes, i wrote to make a stand that i don't agree with this at all, and hope that Beth will not ever base their next designs on these kind of 'fixes'. I Do think it's interresting on how modding effects later design choices of developers. Also when i said 'but then i am someone who...' i think i clearly stated that it's just my opinion and did not make this thread any less healthy.
  3. I can only hope, Bethesda will never take it serious, this beautifying mania some of you have here ,with the idealised, animeish all-smooth and clean characters.. But then i am someone who would never change morrowind's blocky heads either...Oblivion's characters were ridicoulus in every way possible..They looked like puffed, high-grown kids.. Finally in Skyrim they both look unique and technically advanced. And Dunmers Rock (Y).
  4. Good question i would like to know if there is a way, too.. I allways liked it in Morrowind how distinct it was to play a Bosmer or a Nord. ( or is this present here too? only started Dunmers so far )
  5. To be honest.. Who would really sit down and play Morroblivion for real anyway? I'd say even if someone does, nostalgia would drive them back into the real morrowind with it's old graphics and their favourite mods... To me it sounds like all that work will only result in a " Oh look Morrowind in Oblivion..nice..but.." Why this project sounds nice it's because you plan on building it from scratch and not importing stuff.. I think if you decide on doing Morrowind , then do it with your own assetts all together..It's a lot of work, but by the time you come out with even a Beta those old assets would surely look awful anyway..As for sounds, you really should just throw some money together and hire a group of vocalists to do it when everything else is about done... I would also refrain from building it in the time of Dagoth Ur.. Surely there are some new things to come up with.. Dagoth Ur is over..we've hammered him to death..many many times..:) Also by Morrowind you mean Vvardenfell? or whole Morrowind?
  6. I guess you could use Morrowind assets if you somehow made the mod Require ownership of Morrowind too, not just Skyrim, for example if all used assets would load from an installed Morrowind with expansions i think it would be clear then.

    The Dark Mod

Anyone any luck with this since last time? Mod got brand new website : Darkmod Also a good deal of new missions are out, as the result of the Halloween building contest.
  8. Great game, and it just gets better and better. The next update will be especially interesting with the addition of detailed towns and cities. As If Silmarillion was somehow transformed into a game, epic :)

    The Dark Mod

The downloader/updater of the mod is resumable if paused/quit so if its not about a maximum download limit its not impossible :) In a way, however -altough it refers to it heavily- its not based in the world of 'thief'. The game world is still kind of free to form, besides some already laid milestones. http://modetwo.net/darkmod/wiki/images/b/b0/Bridgeport.gif Map builders could also choose to build out of this content however, its just harder to do it because most of the assets are based around this type of universe. Following its base-lines, but it got enhanced and varied a lot. -Time not stops while reading, you can also look around while reading. -Sound based lockpicking with settable difficulty -Rope physics, swinging, pulling down a box with your weight. -object manipulating, rotating objects. -expandable stim/response system that lets interactive objects work as they should. Candles can be lit from another fire-sources or put-out by any water source-etc.. and that list goes on..

    Rage PC specs

It will be moddable, but map-editing will consume a lot of time and processing power because of the baking of mega-textures. The original game had renderfarms to do this, most modders probably wont..

    The Dark Mod

I thought I'd post this here, as i think there are many people here who would be interested in this game because -besides the open-world aspect- it is similar to playing a rogue like character in a TES game or F3: The Dark Mod (for Doom3) is a work of more than five years. It is both a game, and a toolset with assets for making content. Darkmod-Wiki There are already over 25 quests out there to play made by various fans/team members of the mod including a very detailed training level that leads new players into the world of hiding in shadows..Picking locks by hearing the clicks of the lock, putting out lights and patrols, solving puzzles and not least filling the purse with stolen goods. As different missions are from different authors the quality and style of them are varying, I'd suggest playing missions in the order they were released as earlier missions suit new players better. http://www.thedarkmod.com/screen46.jpg http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/4/4000/WHvII_14.jpg http://www.thedarkmod.com/spitter03.jpeg Darkmod homepage As for modders, the assets and the Dark Radiant editor are very nice tools for any kind of sneaky/adventure/puzzler/exploring type of maps to realize with, Have fun! ps: I am no official representative of the mod, just thought i'd share this with you. (also i am not entirely sure if i didnt already write about this in this forum but the search didnt bring up anything so i guess i just wanted to do it before.
