  1. I'm not sure why I didn't think if simply backing up my data folder xD derp Thanks for the help, I'll do that from now on. ^^
  2. No, a file does not impact the difference in the file system type. If it is on an NTFS drive, then it's with the NTFS format. In addition, you can copy or move files to and from drives with different file system types just fine.
  3. I probably won't be of much help, but the only thing I can think of is I guess to double check cross-compatibility lists and make sure there's no random missing files or anything in the FOMM list (assuming you use it) that needs to be in a different order. I don't know anything about that particular mod, but those are the only things I can think of. =x
  4. Yes. As said before, changing a file system format type requires a complete reformat of the drive (or partition). You'll have to completely reinstall Fallout 'cause everything will be completely wiped from the drive. Your saves are held in [Drive letter containing Windows]:\Users\[username]\My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3\Saves If the drive you're changing the format of is different from the drive Windows is on (which I recall you saying it is) then you won't have to worry about your save files being lost. However, I would suggest making a copy of your save files somewhere just so you have a backup copy. And make sure that you remember the entire folder directory that it's held in 'cause it won't work if they're anywhere else xD Also I would strongly recommend using NTFS as your file system on any internal drive you use. The NTFS format is much more stable and corruption resistant than any variations of FAT, and it's faster as well. System consistency is a good habit to follow in general, and using NTFS over FAT32 on a large internal drive is no argument. I would change it to NTFS without a moment's thought.
  5. I have at this point far more mods for Fallout than I'd feel like counting, and it's getting to be over an hour long process to reinstall each mod every time I reinstall windows and my programs. So here's a quick run-down of my setup before my ultimate question: I have Windows installed on a separate partition of my drive away from my documents, music, large programs (including Fallout) and so on. When I reinstall Windows, I only format the one partition and everything else stays put. Now here's my question: Since the program itself remains intact after I reinstall windows, is there a way to make it so I don't have to reinstall Fallout as well? Or I could also ask (since silly me hasn't tried yet) if Fallout 3 works straight from its own folder without any necessary registry key entries or any of that. If it helps, I use Fallout Mod Manager (with FOSE) to launch the game, so I don't even use the official game launcher in the first place and don't need it. So I guess my question is, does Fallout 3 run independently of any registry key entries or any of that?
  6. A good number of my mods for Fallout 3 include very high-resolution texture enhancement, and it works just fine as far as I can see. Just make sure you have the computer to handle it, which it sounds like you probably do.
  7. I use the FOSE launcher =o Actually I launch the game from FOMM but it says "launch FOSE" on the button so I guess that's the same thing. xD
  8. Well, it looks like that regardless if I'm running it on a low or high resolution. Normally I play it on 1920x1080 so I don't think that'd be the problem. As for a mesh missing, it's weird for a mesh to go missing all of a sudden while I'm playing the game. Do you by chance know what would cause that? Ah, and like I just said it just suddenly started doing this while I was playing it earlier. Actually I was walking along that same road when it just randomly started looking like that. A friend of mine suggested my video card was getting too hot but I cleaned it and left my computer off for a while but nothing changed. =x
  9. Granted the absence or full corruption of a loaded texture would appear magenta but what about what's shown in the screenshots? I can tell you for certain that it did not look like that before this happened. *edit: Lemme revise. If it's not the textures corrupting, then do you have any idea as to what it could be?
  10. Hi, to anyone who might be able to help or has had this problem: I've noticed certain textures one by one seem to be looking corrupted or something while I've been playing and I'm not sure why. This happened the last time I had Fallout installed too, with a very similar mod layout. I am mainly concerned because the last time this happened, it seemed to have lead to the corruption of my save file and I had to start again from the beginning. I'm not sure what information might be useful, but I do have a couple of screenshots of the most noticeable corruption, and I can give you a list of the mods I have installed. I'll be happy to provide anything else that might help ^^; In this one, you can see the strange outlining along the edges of the asphalt. http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/7307/screenshot102v.jpg In this one, the texture corruption is most visible in the arm banding. The texture of the vest is also corrupted but is less noticeable unless you look closely. http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/4336/screenshot103y.jpg I can provide the full sized screenshots if it might help anyone. Also: let it be known that none of these anomalies are caused by image compression or anything of the sort. It is exactly as it looks in the game.
