  1. Aye! it's good to see that it can be done. What i was thinking is that for every fighter NPC in the game, you should be able to ask if they want to fight. If that answer is yes, then they will follow you. Maybe their answer depends on your personality and how much they like you. Then you can give them orders. I was thinking that if you selected a group (simply talk to them and ask to join your party) you could then select an option for them to go into a formation...Simyaz did something similar in Tears of the Fiend when you're fighting for Cleon's soul. For the foreign invaders, we'd have to make a new mesh of armour, something simple but uniform, like the Imperial Guard stuff. Probably at the same level too (don't want to make it too hard...numbers are enough). Also, grass length can be changed in the ini file, right? or just the options...
  2. Viewing the ships would be a part of the quest, and it would, i agree, aesthetically pleasing. Get some good music into that, and it would be unnervingly good. As for restrictions with the game system, we can do one of three things: 1. Not really care and warn of the incidental lag. Too bad, so sad, your dad kind of way of looking at it. 2. Low quality meshes. It has to be possible. 3. Armies of small groups...6-14 NPCs assaulting at a time...The intial invasion would be difficult though...that we would have to look around. Also, to address Jones, this game is in the hands of its players, and those that know how to manage it. It would be short sighted to think of it as impossible, as it is shown that anyone can edit this game to suit their needs. AND it is less impossible to make it easy. Just Say'n: The code exists.
  3. It sounds like a fantastic start... Maybe to decrease the lag, didn't you say in your battle mod (which i played. very nice) that you might want to lower the grass? But would there be a way to, say, have a lighter version of meshes, one that wouldn't take so long to load and could be employed en masse? it's probably been done. In addition, some storyline elements would be interesting as well, maybe even essential as you wouldn't want the invasion to start AS SOON as you loaded the mod. Something to certainly think about...
  4. Keep in touch maybe with both of us? Also, i am totally looking into that mod. Thanks!
  5. Aye, something like that, yet instead of Daedra, it'd just be an army of soldiers. I like the Refugee camps, though. neat idea. Yea, my idea seems geared more toward people who haven't beaten the main quest yet. As you said, yours is for after the main quest and is grounded more to reality. Imagine climbing to the top of the Anvil lighthouse and seeing an armada on the horizon. Epic. I hope both get made. It would sure add excitement to the game. My thoughts exactly... However, quest wise, this would be a lot of programming, not to mention the whole mesh and texture that would be involved in the foreign soldiers... man, this makes we want to learn programming.

  7. I've been at a point in Oblivion where I'm thinking "Screw my morals, i would like to blow this Popsicle stand with style." Sure, you can, you know, MURDER everyone in the game, but that wouldn't be much fun...plus, for all us moral people who enjoy seeing our fame at 200 and our infamy at 3 (if you've had a questionable past with a certain Skingrad sheep, for instance), this isn't the best thing to do. Besides, aside from what i saw with Malevolent, no one really cares if you're the champion of Cyrodill, unless you're a guard, in which case they will grovel if you so much as murder. So i thought to myself "What would happen to the story arc if a gigantic army arrived in ships from some unknown land, bearing a hate for the empire and lust for the riches it leaves unprotected in its post-oblivion crisis weakness, arrives in ships off the coast of Anvil, and prepares to invade the province. and all that is left standing in its way is the champion of cyrodil itself, along with some legionaries, partners, magics, etc. To think" Thought I "what would happen if someone were to program it so that they would go raging all across Cyrodil, sacking and burning the towns around them, until the burn Whitegold tower to the ground?" "That," i thought "would be awesome." So, I offer the same idea i gave if anyone saw my "CM Partners Barracks" idea: Either take this as a good idea and run with it, or shovel me a tutorial or five and i'll be on my way. Thankee Kindlee.
  8. So, i was looking through some of the mods, and i thought to myself "Lordy, i need some BARRACKS". Something nice and cozy for my CM Partners to lay down and rest. The closest i've found is Frostcrag Reborn, where you can turn the student quarters into the housing of your private army. However, I kinda desire a bit MORE (considering the blood spots never go away in that room). Now, i have no modding experience of my own, however i want to at least think that i could potentially have some time and know-how under my belt sometime in the future. However, if anyone actually wants to take me up on this, i have an idea of what it may look like... If not, could somebody point me to a tutorial that would get me started? Thankee Kindly.
