I'm all for removing the chat bar. I had no need for it and I'd rather have better loading times than a useless bar wasting space at the bottom of the screen.

 

ok, but you could disable it just by pressing the X button on the bar..

A set page for chat with a Java applet IRC chat would be by far the best solution. You click on the CHAT tab and it opens to the chat page where you can begin chatting.I miss not having a way to connect with and talk to other people on here.. many of them are very sweet and it was nice spending time with everyone.I hope soon that we have our chat back cause it was very nice and something that helps bring more "community" to the nexus.

 

I agree there should be an alternative to the chat bar. i really enjoyed chat, used it every day. If someone didn't want to wait for a response on the forums they could just come straight to the chatroom and most likely someone was on to help them right then.

I am a little heartbroken about the fact it's gone, and i really hope that an alternative can be made for the community here.
