  1. Looking forward to this, can't wait.
  2. I love seeing so much progress on this, fantastic, we had a chat on facebook actually, not sure you remember, but it's the same Travis. I make sure to check back here maybe once a week, usually less, and it's nice to see updates. Nice work!
  3. Just a simple thought, archery in Skyrim uses the mediterranean technique, with the arrow on the left side of the bow, and the three fingers used. It'd be interesting to see a simple animation mod that shifts the positioning of the bow, arrow and the finger technique to be Eurasian technique, AKA, Thumb release (optional thumb ring maybe?) and the arrow on the right side of the bow? Considering the majority of the bows in skyrim are some form of recurve/composite and even the hunting bow essentially a form of horsebow it makes sense that the appropriate technique would be applied. Maybe I'm just looking into it. P.S. Another idea I was thinking was more realistic animations for combat using weaponry, I like realistic combat, while we've got all these mods that more realistic damage and calculations it still looks ridiculous how much the characters over-swing their weapons and how clumsy they are. I know we can't work past silly hollywood things like the typical sword and board *swing, block, swing, block* there are mechanics that help bring that more technical and beneficial (like the staggering mechanics) it'd be nice to see a more logical attack than a sloppy one. A perfect example is how ridiculous the two-handed animations look... In real combat if you over-swung that hard you'd die (and to be fair, I do with the difficulty mods I use, two-handed weapons are too slow.) EDIT: Also I'm aware not all of Eurasia used this technique but the technique was prevalent throughout Eurasia for so long and was used by so many different cultures.
  4. Ah damn, okay. I'll try something out then maybe.
  5. Well don't say you're just standing up for "mod authors and their mods", as though my points are invalid and I'm against "mod authors" and their mods; because me tailoring my experience is clearly against modding and "mod authors" even though I'm currently doing the very thing the entire modding community holds as a value, modifying and personalizing somebody else's original work for their own (and sometimes other's) interests... That's the entire point of modding, to change one thing into something else more suited to you, for FUN. Just seems like you're taking this ALL a bit too seriously. It's silly seeing that high and mighty attitude where you point the finger and act like being a "mod author" is special, pfft, being a mod author, or just anyone who mods their games (which is the majority of the PC gaming crowd), literally just means you're messing with a game's files and sometimes uploading it with a title and acting all official about it. In reality you're saying it's piracy and what not, "defending mod authors" from piracy when really modders should be the ones you're pointing the finger at if you're going to be that anal about it. Just imagine; "Skyrim is an original game brought together by a select few minds who worked on it for many years, and now random players of the game online have been taking the files and messing with them and sharing it online and even receiving donations *GASP* how dare they destroy the intellectual property of the "authors" of skyrim and act like they are being original at all by simply using prestigious and sycophantic titles like "mod authors" to further their agenda that they are creating something original! How dare they!" You only need to vaguely change a couple words here and there and you already have the point you're making about me changing somebody elses mod and sharing it privately with maybe one other person. I know there is the creation kit there for a reason but those points still stand, don't get carried away and think that we're anything but a few dweebs on the internet messing with a silly little game's files we all love playing, making dumb s#*! from "immersion" mods to literally just awkward 3d porn. Besides, back to the subject at hand, I'm not 100% sure on if I was right about the body type thing being right anyway since, yeah, there are armours that use unp that I use that I can run just fine. But I can't think of one reason why it crashes though other than that. I'm trying out "FurArmorSet" BBP and non-BBP versions, and I crash trying to put the BBP fur coat equipped, but I don't crash with the non-BBP fur coat equipped. Since those share body types in common with this hagraven robe I presume that is the reason. It could be an issue with the skeleton, though I use XPMSE, so that makes little sense as that supports pretty much everything.... Mmrnm... This is a confusing one.
  6. It feels pedantic and condescending (and again, anal) to even comment in the first place if you yourself are pointing out that it's irrelevant to the thread, and that you don't care. So sit down and shut up maybe? Back to business... Alright, well I've put added the robes and changed the names, enchantments n' the little things I wanted changed. Works fine, I can spawn them in my inventory buuuuut I CTD whenever I equip them. My guess is that it's crashing because the hagraven robes use the UNPB-BBP body type, having next to no knowledge about this since I never really experiment with that kind of thing I tried just the normal UNP body just to pray that'll save me some time but no luck (but to be fair I wasn't expecting anything else). I presume I'll have to use the UNPB-BBP but I find it extremely dumb, I don't want over-the-top bimbo-y looking women on my skyrim saves so can anyone explain who knows anything about this if it's an easy change I could do myself? Or perhaps a generous person who could do that themselves? I currently have settled for the vanilla body since I have no interest in sexual relations with my PC. Though, if it were beneficial for me to use the base UNP that's no issue at all (if it's easier to edit to UNP from UNPB-BBP for whatever reason). Thanks.
  7. Piracy? That comes across as a bit anal but okay. I was going to try do that delete actors thing, I presumed that would work, but I have little knowledge about what's actually in esps, so I didn't know if there would be issues there or not. But I'll try it out anyway, thanks.
  8. Hey, I've been trying to get some hagraven armor/robes and finally found the maidenraven which adds hagraven women who drop robes. Trouble is I ONLY want the robes, not the women running around too, but I have no idea how to only add the armour to the game, if somebody could somehow just provide a simple edit of the mod mod that included the robes and nothing else I can just spawn it in with the id. Thanks! P.S: Virtual cookies for people who could suggest other, better feather-y armours for a necromancer.
  9. Ramble: When I first played oblivion it was on console and I loved it, probably still one of my favourites. I upgraded to pc like 6 years ago and recently got Oblivion again a couple weeks ago and obviously, with all the dlc's it was nice to have access to all the content but my issue is the timing of it. I know I could basically just not use them, but having access to frostcrag, deepscorn etc. with their fast travels so early is silly because they have things that are a bit op for starting, I like a sense of reward, kind of like how if I were to try to start the knights of the nine too early I can't because I'm not renowned enough. All of the private bases are immediately accessible and it takes 2 in game days until you can do shivering isles. Is there a simple mod that could time these quests that start shivering isles/give access to the new player homes a bit less immersion-breaking? The idea would be something like this: The player homes would be unlocked upon gaining leadership of said faction, so frostcrag = arch-mage, thieves den = thieves guild, deepscorn = dark brotherhood etc. etc. You get the point. Shivering isles would be post-sheogorath daedra quest and/or main quest (I think there are dialogue changes depending on the daedra quest so, maybe, maybe not, depends on preference). Mehrunes would be post-main quest. Any thoughts?
  10. Also I realized I was being stupid. That casting there is from an animation replacer that tempted me from some smaller screenshots but when I got a closer look they were doing this edgy two-fingered casting thing and running like they were naruto or some s#*!...
  11. Alright, I wanna keep this short and simple. I appreciate a gorgeous woman and her cute animations but I appreciate that on some occasions and sometimes... Not... What I've found with great lack of luck is that there aren't that many good animation replacements that aren't purposefully for women, or aren't japanese/anime-like. All I'm asking for is a nice set of animations for a more masculine male battlemage. Which I think, considering Oblivion has been out for so long, isn't an unfair question, I just feel like these mods are buried somewhere. If anyone who has more knowledge on this, do you know; 1. General animation replacers for most of the animations in oblivion, that just improve on some of the clunkiness of the original. 2. Better animations for two handed combat. (I did check out Ser Knight but it looked a bit awkward.) 3. Badass casting animations. Oh and here's the image of the armor I'm using, so that if you're just browsing and reading this you might be a person who just clicks and thinks "Yep, I know what this guy's looking for". On another note, is that just a flattering image of the vanilla animations or is it a replacement? I can't tell.
