  1. Sounds like Chrome knowing better than the original mod authors about how zipped files should be treated (by renaming from dazip to zip). As theskymoves says, restore the dazip suffix to the file and you should be ok
  2. What mods do you have loaded (likliest cause)? If none, suggest abandoning and reimporting your rogue.
  3. try here http://social.bioware.com/project/4164/
  4. Have to agree with Thandal - I have had Extra Dog Slot running for years and have not encountered the problem you describe.....
  5. It's an ambitious mod, but IMHO has too many bugs to be reliable. You may want to look at the posts here : http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/16/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fdragonage%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D16%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D163396&pUp=1
  6. Sorry if this is too basic a reply - have you emptied your wastebasket? If not, then simply open it up and undelete the folder....
  7. I've played the Baldur's Gate series in full a few times over the years Baldur's GateTales of the Sword CoastBGII-Shadow"s of AmnBGII-Throne of BhaalAmazing quality for the era! PS - in the last year I've acquired the Enhanced Editions which run BG and TOSC in BG2 interface, plous many added characters and missions. Well worth it
  8. Q&L is ........ shall we say challenging? I would not go higher then "hard" on a first runthrough - even on "hard", a few encounters will prove extremely difficult. Unless you pause every 2 seconds and analyse what is happening around you, it's likely that you'll get your ass handed to you on a plate on several occasions before you understand what's happening - some encounters move VERY quickly and your whole party can be down and out in 10 seconds... If you plan to install any of these mods, you'll get more out of them by installing them before a new game - all of the mods are integrated into the original campaign so where a mod begins and where the original ends is a matter of conjecture. Suggest you read the comments on the Nexus related to each of these mods (in the files section) - the exchanges are very positive and helpful. Enjoy! PS - nightmare IS possible in Q&L but it took me a long time to achieve it!
  9. Some "musts" for original campaigns, in my view are : Dark Times part one - sadly part 2 has never materialised, but this add-in extends the original campaign significantly (new companions, spells, equipment, maps/worlds, side quests....) Quests and Legends - massive and extremely challenging add-in that, in addition to new companions, spells, skills, equipment, maps, quests, requires serious rethinking of battle tactics Ser Gilmore NPC
  10. Concur with Thandal - I've ben running Qwinn's fixpack v2.0 with1.05 for longer than I care to remember and have yet to encounter a problem... Have to say I haven't encountered any "must have" pure bug fixes, other than Morrigan Restoration and Qwinn, although there are many excellent "add-ons" that don't correct anything things like Extra Dog Slot, Character Respec, Storage Chest, FtG Quickbar....
  11. thanks for flagging this Grizzlly. Nice to be able to add a few new items to the inventory!
  12. Not tried your other mods yet, but the idea appeals strongly to me. Nightmare is beginning to become to much of a stroll in the park because the opposition seems too dumb to understand what's happening. if your mod can put spice into the game and force us to think again about how we play, then I'm in favour and you can count me in. Keep me posted please!
  13. Sync, you are right to point out that Tactics don't apply to the controlled character ; if your gamestyle is to solely control the main character permanently then this solution will not help. That's not my style - I regularly switch between characters in the light of what is happening on screen....... but to each his own approach !
  14. You could try using your tactics to ensure that your persona activates the mode at any time: "target= self, situation=any" should do the trick
  15. Console commands definitiely OK with 1.05 - haven'y yet found a way to displat them on DA2
  16. Have you read the Comments page for this mod ? Click here Some users suggest that under Windows 7-64 bits you may need to run in compatibility mode for the mod to work proprerly... Suggest you also post in the comments page (link above). Good luck
  17. If you haven't done so, you could try talking to Faryen whikst you have Sten in your party...
  18. If you have a lrage number of mods running, I suggest you try deactivating as many as you can reinstate them one at a time to see if you can identify the culprit. A bit hit and miss I'm afraid but you may find a solution - at least it'll give you plenty of exercise fighting the mages
  19. If you like the idea of a Dragonling companion, look no further than the Dark Times mod ...
  20. If XP continues to meet your needs why change until 2014? That will give you time to put cash away and follow what is happing in the hardware and OS stakes in the intervening period. Whenever you do decide to change, don't go for the "very latest" OS - go for something that has been up and running for a year or two - that way you can be sure that major bugs have been ironed out and that manufacturers have been able to follow with their drivers for printers and other gear. I moved from XP to windows 7 about 18 months ago mainly because new games required a better platform that what I had (the rig was 5 years old and I had reached the end of the road on processor/memory/video card upgrades for the motherboard - a total change of rig and OS was called for. The transfer went like a dream, all my existing games and saves transferred over without major problems - -he only issue I had was that my scanner manufacturer failed to produce a window 7 driver for the professionam model I had bought 5 years earlier....
  21. Hi As Sync 182 says - you've grasped the main principles. At the end of the day it comes down to what support (if any) you prefer to have with you at different points in the final battle sequence - look at the situation and decide what type of firepower would be most helpful and complementary to your own attacking tactics - do you want skills that are melee/constitution, /dexterity/archers, fragile/powerful magic wielders or a mixed bunch ? You may want to save just before each key stage and try it with different types of support to see how it goes. Personally I prefer the challenge of taking the final battle sequence without the army picker but I can imagine it could be useful if your party is not well balanced. Enjoy and let us know what you think!
  22. Kudos to you GW !!
  23. Great news for all WF fans and proof of the added value of the Nexus - thanks for taking the time to do this!
  24. A simple but painstaking solution is to copy/paste each page of phaelan's manual fom his site (http://dragonage.phaenan.net/)
