I guess you wanted to say, they finally look intimidating as they were supposed to :P

I loved the part in Morrowind when my character got recognized as the Nerevarine, i never forget that feeling i had...it was godly
It would be awesome to see Nerevarine return, ohh the nostalgic feeling...though i doubt it.

Maybe if there would be some system implemented to upgrade thier abilities, like being more resistant to weapons or having better dodge abilities, also the AI has a big role in this, even when you will have an immortal companion if he/she/it is going to headlessly charge into battle, rather then being usefull you will be spammed by the " <name> is unconcious" message.
I would like them to remain killable, that way you have to take care of them, becouse you will just think after every battle "let's wait untill he/she/it regains conciousness" ..wich kinda kills the immersion in my eyes.
Though taking care of them shouldnt go into a level where it starts to be a chore :wallbash:

After seeing that dog in the pic with the female dunmer...defanatly, i just hope the ai is better, becouse i certainly dont want to see my puppy aggroing a whole dungeon.
Would be nice to have more commands to give to your companions, to direct their style of fighting and agresivity.
As i will be playing a stealthy character, would be awesome to give my dog a command to attack some bandit and he would recognize my stealthy fighting style, wich would made him instead of running at an enemy, carefully crouch to make a critical sneak bite :teehee:

No offense but people should start to read a bit in the forums before they put new threads in.

Every second you spend peeing is a second you aren't playing Skyrim
Thank you sir, this sentence made my day...i put it in my sig :>

:wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
I guess it was to be expected, to hell with this, i will probably spent a lot of time cursing, but im gonna buy that game :wallbash:
If you do everything right, you shouldn't spend a lot of time cursing, or at all.
You other guys that won't buy the game should look at this one!
Dear sir, I shall give you kudos.
Just because you are supporting the devs even though they put a requirement that you don't like.
Hehe thank you, well thats the least i can do to show them i am willing to even install Steam just to play their game.
This game will be in my eyes a rare jewel that we can get only every few years, plus the modding comunity will make it even more awesome..i would be an idiot not to buy it no matter how much i dont like steam

I will go assassin for sure but no clue what race i pick, knowing myself i probably spent just half day at the character creator >_<

Both games are great, its just a matter of taste what people prefer, but i guess this topic would have been created sooner or later.

Well it was already discussed a lot as far as i know, if you search in the skyrim section of the forums you should find posts about it.

I think skyrim trailer is awesome but i have to agree with you ReaperLeopard on this matter, the feeling of powerfull creatures was always lacking in beth's games...its like someone pushed the randomize button and there you go..its not really that the dragons are designed badly but i do feel they lack on the "creature of power" factor ...i can bet that with different dragons we will see mostly recoloring of the same model in the game.
TES (mostly) doesn't do scripted fights. Way harder to make a 50-foot tall creature act in a sensible way when you give both it and the player total freedom of movement and actions. Secondly, dragons in Skyrim aren't endgame boss monsters: They're treated just like any other creature out in the wilderness. You're going to be fighting them throughout the entire game, even at low levels when you'll be relatively weak. Of course they can't all be godlike monsters who can level whole mountain ranges just by breathing on them too hard. Besides, what RPG have you ever seen that actually has dragons make actual use of their ability to fly in combat? Skyrim's the first game featuring them I've ever seen where their wings aren't just for show.
The only thing im worried about is, as i said we will probably see the same old dragon model just recolored a few times instead of making their appearance unique by thier abilites, when i saw the fight with the fire and frost dragon there wasnt really any difference between the two, atleast i didnt saw it, correct me if im wrong. The differences between them are on a micro rather than macro scale: The frost dragons have an impressive set of horns on their head as well as a pair of vampire-esque fangs that stick out of their mouth. As well, the texture of the scales on their body is totally different. But yeah, there's not much difference that you can see in the video because it's flying 50 feet above your head the whole time.
Thanks for clarifying that up for me, i didnt discern there were those changes between them..i dont really need a super difference so this made me happy what you wrote. Also you are right about that tes is the first game that has dragons behaving naturally in freedom of movenement and unscripted attacks, not just for show.
So or so im still more impressed with skyrim trailer then witcher2, im just holding the "happyly jumping arround" becouse im still pretty sceptical, but there are moments where im really close to it.

On the other hand tes games were always unique when it comes to their design and sometimes having less is more.

I fear it will get old pretty fast that way, skyrim is already starting to show a certain patern that oblivion followed, then again the new character screenshots were really amazing, so i hope we will be plesantly surprised with more such changes.

Thanks , tha made my day LeopoldCrank.
I'm not casting a vote. I would like the minigames if they were real time.Exactly how i feel about it, the minigames can be nice but they break somehow for me the flow of my gameplay.

Skyrim trailer keeps expectations low while Witcher 2 trailer raises them too high.
This!...i agree completely, while many games serve you an awesome trailer filled with godly epic moments, the game is often the oposite.
I like that Beth is serving everything arround skyrim carefully, if the expectations wont be ungodly high the more of a blast the game will be..atleast that's how i feel about it.
-
I honestly hope it wont be something like "look another generic oblivion gate we have to close for 100th time"..oblivion made me seriously hate everything that is daedric...but that was becouse the diversity was at point zero.
I can guess we will probably visit those realms in skyrim too, but this time i hope it will be diverse and interesting...so far i havent heard any info on that...i think there wont be probably many of those realms as they want to focus on the battle with dragons and the nords, but who knows.

Dear Nine Divines please make the people wake up and stop them at praying to kill everything and instead make them pray for the really usefull mods to come...thanks !

Looks great, good ol morrowind style dunmer...i defenatly like where this is going...also the background with the aurora is awesome.
-
a lot of other games dwarf Skyrim.
Graphically? Sure. Content? Not a chance. There is absolutely no other single player offline games on the market or even soon to be on the market that come close to the level of content in a Bethesda open world game. Period.
http://www.ea.com/reckoning Kingdoms of Amalur seems the closest to Skyrim...not in the graphical way but its an open world with lots of things and really cool combat system...looks promising.
-
I think it will be the same as with genders, there will be some differences but overall i dont think it will have much impact on the game.
Maybe there will be some unique quests for each races, but who knows maybe we wil be plesantly surprised.
I too hope vampirisim will be this time..vampirism, there is so much that can be done with it, i seriously hope they made it worthwile, when i remember the good old days with Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines and imagine that vampire system in Skyrim..that would be so awesome...but i doubt it will by anything close to that.
I also seriously hope there will be werewolfs, im looking more to that then vampirism to be honest and if they dont release it with the game i hope it will be added as DLC.
-
I completely agree with you Herculine, this is just the beginning of crowd control, they are experimenting how to implement it and yes it wont defenatly stay just with games...but i doubt they will have success and in the end they will dig thier own grave.
Well written there, kudos for that.

The moment you put that immage and L O L sentence you are trolling in my eyes , i dont see any humor in what you said...sorry...but i guess its none of my concern.
I agree there are much worse DRMs out there but seems many people failed to realize that this is mainly about to have an option to buy the game some other way if you cant use steam.
I dont like steam and it wont change but im not forcing my opinions upon anyone, i just wish for a non-steam version of the game.. that's all.
-
No offense Halororor but you should stop with that trolling, even though i too think Khadir's point is a bit extreme for this discussion and i think the same that soldiers and scientist have other thing's to worry about, even though i know they are people...there is no need to ridicule Khadir just becouse he/she sees it that way.
