  1. I really hope its not build upon gamebryo ..seriously i had enough of all those ctd's, errors, bugs..everytime i hear that name all my hopes are away.

From what i saw in the vid posted on nexus from the game, some locations were impresive but some looked too oblivion-like...im loosing my hopes again.

  2. Hello!

Found this thread as i was browsing for some tutorial about how would i port Moonshadow elf race to NV after i saw a screenshot here http://www.newvegasnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=8336#fileanchor.

I tried to do it by myself but seems i lack the knowledge how to do it and i see you already done it, would you be so kind please and tell me how you ported the face to NV ? I really love the Moonshadow elf race and after i saw its possible to port it i became obsessed with that idea :P

  3. I'm loving New Vegas despite some graphics glitches, a frozen enemy bug, and an unexplainable ctd.

I love the new water and food system. I love the new Hardcore mode. Love the new faction system.

Not Loving: Killcam, Mister New Vegas, Voice acting not as good as hoped, hard to sort and track craft recipes and ingredients. Also missing the humor of Fallout 3. New Vegas just doesn't have that dark smirky gallows humor.

Lots of flat road out here. I need a motorcycle.

Also don't feel it is fair to charge us ful price for a game that has a recycled and tweaked engine, recycled sound library, and recycled models and textures. This is a mega-expansion. Not a new game.

Overall- two thumbs up and a cheesy Borat grin.

I agree, the full price is surely a little too much, yet people buying it, i guess it was a good strategic choice with obsidian, even though they did halfassed work.

For some reason it's not gripping me in quite the same way the fallout3 or the original two did come to that.

Hard to put my finger on what exactly, in part I think it's the lack of greenish haze that you had in Fallout3, yes I know lots of people didn't like it and there's mods to clean it up, yet for me it added just the right touch of gritty, grimey, post-apocalyptic depression that added to the flavour of the world.

They also seem to have been packing more into a slightly smaller map, which is a bit odd because if you look back at the original games the map should be vast, near empty and you can travel for days before ever seeing anything worth picking up or something to kill.

Sadly i came to the same point on wich somehow the game is loosing my interest, i still play it but im not able to for more then 1 hour, then i just get uninterested

I like that the map isnt a big wasteland where half of it is just rocks and ruins, this way the map maybe less bigger but its full with things to explore, you dont have to run across half planet just to find another underground with feral ghouls. I hated that in FO3, there was too many dungeons with little wariety in them, wich were bound to another dungeon and another one and another... Overall NV is a step forward but that step is a very little one and sadly it has also the thing i hated most at FO3, the feeling of unsatisfyiness, no matter how much i progress.

  4. Honestly i think both games had their good and bad points, but what i think we can all agree on is... there is a ton of potentional wasted on those games..there are things that just could have been done a lot better. I think sometimes that most creators of sandbox games work more on the look of the game then the game/play itself, in my opinion we will never get anything better from the creators of FO3 and NV, i just hate the feeling when playng both games that "for christ sake why the hell they did this, this could have been done so much better", most of those things would not taken ages to do, they just didnt cared... for exaple animations..i have the feeling they are even worse then anims in FO3, especially the left side running and crippled running/walking..like a retared horse..jesus.

Also i recognized an animation wich i saw a loong time ago when i was playing KOTOR1 , KOTOR2, the npc's who just stand and point fingers over yonder..now the same do the npc's in NV...god Obsidian.. did they copy/paste that from it ??

  5. Ahh damn you are right..the set of choices DA had and the typical Obisidian quests made me forget about that, as they are so similiar.

Anyway..i think those who arent looking for FO3 in NV will like the game..i like the change and the western-style feel of it but i have to agree with LadyMilla on the : "Not to mention that I do not feel the post-apocalyptic atmosphere in this game. By the looks, the region might have been struck by a big global economic crash instead of a global nuclear Armageddon. In Fallout 3, you are always reminded of the Great War, either by personal accounts (e.g. Tulip) or other relics of the nuclear conflict (like the bomb in Megaton). In F:NV, the whole story feels like playing the game version of "Last Man Standing" with Bruce Willis.", still i think the quests of NV are a lot better written then FO3 were...they were just uninteresting for me and i would never completed FO3 main story if it wouldnt be for the mods, but then again i think it will be the same for NV.

  6. I absolutely agree with you zerrodefex.

Even tough im getting tired of the same quest design of Obsidian, i still enjoy NV more then FO3.

a lot of people here say they miss the apocalyptic feel of fallout, but for me it was a little too much apocalyptic. FO3 was set 200+-? years after the war wich should mean that it should have been a lot more populated then the actuall FO3 was, more lively, becouse i think humanity would have formed larger tribes/villages/cities after such time, trying to get back on feet. But i had the feeling FO3 was set more like 20-30 years after the war, becouse it was too dull and dead and even though you were able to go where u wanted and do what you wanted, there was always this feeling of shalowness/ not-satisfyiness.

Basically i think people spended too long with FO3 and after the first "this game sucks" and other simliar threads started, they were looking for more and more errors and bugs instead of enjoyng the game, they are just so used to FO3 that they cant let go of the setting and from all those threads became a mass hysteria where even those things that werent really bad, were pointed as bad.

Still im dissapointed with NV too, becouse there are zilion of things that could have been done much better, just like with FO3 and most of them would not require to spend half life on them, like spears...i never saw a spear being sheeted like pistol...just this irritates me to death in NV..that they didnt even bothered to change the sheeted holding to back...becouse they have geck they can change it themselfs ..right ? So that way geck is more of a fixing tool and that iritates me a lot too.

  7. I have to say that i am enjoying playing NV more then FO3 but the main story is too predictable also one thing that really iritates me is Obsidians nevereding same quest design, thats why it becomes so predictable becouse it was the same with dragon age and all their other games.

I really wish next fallout game would be done by some new company, someone with fresh ideas that isnt polishing one and the same game/quest style for years repeating it in all their games, it just gets old and boring after such long time.

In FO3 main story when i first played the game i had no idea what waits me and what its about, so i dont agree that FO3 story was predictable.

After playng 4-5 hours of NV i knew where it was going, and the typical Obisidian quest choices just made it easier to predict.

Still i have more fun with NV the FO3, but im not yet done with the game, so i have yet to see the outcome.

  8. You may be right about the dark apocalyptic atmosphere that FO3 had, but then again i always felt the enviroments were very sterile and dull and the whole setting was rotating about gore, wich i think was used too much and on too many places, u had wide space to explore yet it was mostly tunnels full of ghouls and other vermin with nothing else to do then shoot and loot, in NV i feel like the exploration has more meaning then just getting xp. The liveness of NV is just great, there is always something interesting going on and after i remade my character and started to play on wery hard settings and hardcore mode..now thats real survival. Picked just a throwing spear and gone hunt, after half day hunting and running away from damn hard monsters i realized i had so much fun with just this, i did not even started to play the game by full.

I was skeptic when i saw NV coming, becouse i knew there wouldnt be much changes around the gameplay and the engine and it would be full of buggs, but i have to say Obsidian did a great job with NV in terms of game/quest design.

  9. I guess i pass on new vegas untill it dont gets some solid patch or something...already hearing all those complaints makes me wanna play it less and less, how can someone do a "game" on a buggy engine and asking such price for it... Even this would be ok for me but seeing they didnt even bothered to change or atleast modify the horrible animation's is a nice kick in the ass, no wonder new vegas cant be seen as a new fallout but only as an expansion.

Last years Obsidian and few other game developing companies learned me something important...hype and name isnt everything, and even tough they are being praised they certainly made a crappy job.

That being said, im still interested in this "expansion", i guess i will wait and maybe the price will drop to something wich is more fitting.

  10. Sigh...i was really asking my self if to buy this at all, after reading several articles, reviews it seems all obsidian did was put up some story together, new places on the old buggy engine, wich means welcome back CTD's. No real improvement's in the gameplay / animation's...maybe i should wait, before giving my money into something like that again. In the end it will end up heavyly modded wich wouldnt be a bad thing, but the sad thing is those mods will be here to fix something that should have been done in the first place by obsidian.

    I just dont know..

  11. Just to let you guys know, I've not made any progress since the last post. I'll need to figure out why the torso is pivoting unbidden, and then that stuff with bone priorities so the equips, blocks, and attacks will work. After I get all of that, I should be finished.

Sounds nasty :wallbash: , i hope u will be able to fix it and thank you much for trying !

  12. I personally think an MMORPG would be a bad idea. Adding a community to the game creates many things that will utterly smash all immersion -- from an economy ("Gold for Cash" spammers, powerleveling services, or even people just advertising that they're selling their enchanted Ebonys,) to revamping the guild system, to running into over a thousand characters named Naruto3578. I love MMORPGs to death, but they've become a game for a community, NOT for legitimate role-playing. We could have an RP server, but it would still be underpopulated compared to the main one. :/ Plus, I still hate the idea of paying monthly for a game I already own.

It's a big change for me. When I first started playing Oblivion I couldn't believe they didn't make it an MMO, it felt like such a perfect candidate. But as I played on I understood why that would have been a bad idea.

Anyway I will say I hope they don't design most of the game around staying at your level anymore. It was a cool idea, but as tons of people have already said, it doesn't make much sense. And they can make it challenging without that.

I absolutely agree with you, tes has a nice history and mmo would just kill it. I seriously hope it will be an single player rpg, that they will this time make the gameplay/character creation/animation/immersion/story telling, more interesting, that the mods wont be literally fixes for something they werent able or couldnt do, but instead they will enhance the game further.

Im sceptic tbh that it will happen, we probably get another mmo, atleast we still have oblivion

  13. Patience, its not easy to do such things and he has a life too, lets not forget he makes this for free :whistling:

It can also happen nothing will come from this, but nevertheless it was worth a try ! :wallbash:

  14. This happened to me yesterday, i was in the Fighthing chance buyng things and when i came out, there come 3 guards running at me with "Hold there criminal, your spree is at an end.." i was so surprised i wanted to shout "noo im innocent" Happened to me for the first time, strange :ermm:
  15. Thank you okappa, tough i think i dont rly deserve the kudos since i didnt done anything so all thanks should go to McMutton.

lol trust mei know i cannot model worth crap lol
